Isai going beast mode because his crush was cheering is the most anime thing I've ever heard for smash.
Aether Blackbolt how was this not a thing in the anime moment video wtf
No one:
Isai: genkai wo koeru
I already felt the protagonist music coming
@@aKingKrab when he was fighting ken at the end you could hear it and it was a banger.
Melee IS an anime! lol The closest thing we have to real life anime.
The king who never claimed his throne.
Basically Jon Snow
Ivel couldn’t have said it better
Nice man just copypasting comments. go do something original and dont steal someones comments and if u still do say at least from who you stole it from...
@@ye_2907 bruh you're making it sound like he just committed a crime
pieter schoute how do you know it’s copy paste
The guy who truly played as Sakurai intended.
To have fun.
Amen.
I love you guys 🥺
Unpopular opinion: casual smash is better than competitive
@@noobplayz2655 Unpopular but logical.
That's not unpopular
Isai beating Ken to impress a girl is THE MOST anime moment in Smash history.
100%
Best Smash arc
Is that a bad thing?
@@spiritgate0444 no.
Isn't this Ken Masters arc for SFII?
So Isai is the real life dude in a Shonen anime who doesn't use his full power.
Is(ek)ai
Isai: Forgive me Ken, just this once I’ll have to go all out!
Precisely
Its like that one scene from age of ultron where black widow says she is in love with a guy who is afraid to fight cause he knows he will win.
He’s like the LDZ of smash bros. If you’ve ever seen any brawlhalla competitive, well LDZ came in with only 300 hours on the game, knocked out the top players, won the first worlds, and now plays 2’s. Occasionally he comes over and knocks out a few more top players and then goes back to 2’s for a few years it’s hilarious

Thats what ike says in smash 4
That's probably why Sakurai added Ike in Smash
"Don´t get hit"
-Isai
I legit use this mantra when facing a tough opponent. It’s so silly but it helps me focus on what I have to do.

No durr
-Icies
That’s actually a crazy mindset his goal in life is to keep doing wut he loves, and make friends. And for him to say he’s had an easy life despite his parents getting a divorce which is not an easy thing. Truly humbling and inspiring
thats one hard life, im glad my parents didnt get a divorce
"Don't get hit"
Proceeds to get hit with the feels
My casual friend: How do you always beat me?
Me with a tear in my eye: Don't get hit
Isai is still my favorite Melee player.
He could've been the best but he never wanted to be. All he wanted was to play and have fun, what every gamer should do, just have fun.
Respect for this man.
But why did he want to be the best at SSB64 ?
John Smith because he had fun doing it
@@crispybakon2756 But why doesnt that fun translate to Melee ? Does he dislike faster character movement ? Does he prefer more simple gameplay mechanics ? Does he hate the less hitstun ? Is it ever actually explained why he prefers 64 ?
@@jsmithers. he still sandbags in 64. Look at his set vs wizzrobe, he pretty much showed he's better then he sandbagged. And he just likes ssb64 more. One of the reasons he said before is shield dropping believe it or not. In melee shield dropping is unnecessarily hard, in ssb64 you just hold down while in shield. And yes he was aware of how to do shield drops even back in the day in melee, he was recorded geeking out to ken about how cool shield drops can be and ken was like "so what" verbatim. Needless to say now we all know just how integral shield dropping is to successful play. Anyway,
Tl:dr he likes 64 more
His 64 combos are straight art. This man is a legend
"That's me, Isai, smash god, I guess"
dang bro Isai is like...the best kind of person protect this man
Dont get hit
Nothing to protect the man from even if we wanted to we couldn't, his battle seems deeply personal and internalized. I don't know him though this is just my guess based off of how he acts in the video.
isai: "dont get hit"
joker with rebels guard: "please hit me"
Why did I explode into laughter whilst reading this lmaoo

Terry: you may hit me... to 100%
This man really played the wii home screen music at 13:35 while he was saying some emotional shit
Legend
It's a relaxing theme...I'm still not sick of it and I play Brawl mods all the time.
For real 🤣😂
It's on the whole video though
Bopha Deez I also noticed that but it worked surprisingly well
It can be a beautiful ambience.
Chillindude explained it perfectly. The only times he puts the world of effort in is when he has someone to not let down. That says a lot about him because we know his potental is endless
I love how the video is really touching and then out of nowhere Zero starts dancing like a magikarp evolving and the outro starts
Damn I thought you was a bit exaggerating, but then I saw the outro and couldn't stop seeing a magikarp evolving 😭💀😂
No one:
Isaí: “I must go all out, just this once.”
"forgive me sensei..."
On a personal note: I appreciate that Zero never promotes his channel with the 'Like, Sub, Share' Dialogue. Really makes it about the game. *Looking forward to seeing you make it to a million subs; Keep up the good work*
Alternate Infinite he does that ya dumb kid
@@Theeinsom one, I'm 56 years old. Two, he does but not as heavy handedly as others, however, since the time I posted this, he has become more aggressive in his campaign. Still appreciate the content, regardless. Have a good day, kid.

Isai : Yeah.
Tru dat
Huhu Lili chudat
As real as it gets
Yeah
Yeah.
I can really imagine Isai taking a stock, looking over and seeing his crush cheering. And then just going fucking beast mode
I don't think this is the most depressing story in smash history anymore.
My thoughts exactly
💀💀💀
Dead body reported
Facts. Sed times. Sad times.
Wait what y’all talking about?
“This is me, Isai, the smash guy, i guess”
I was moved to tears just in that sentence
*Smash god
Zero:yeah is a pretty sad and touching story and...
Wii:TURURURURURURURURURURURTURYRURURURURU
Probably wouldn't get much traction,
But I feel like Isai deserves a gofundme so the man can just hike for the rest of his life.
Wait...why is the Wii menu music making me cry though 😭
Nostalgia, my friend.
The Wii era takes people back to simpler times. Hopeful times. Better times
Nothing gives me quite as much nostalgia as the wii. Hearing wii sports music always makes me cry
It’s deep, bro.
Lol good memorys
I remember watching a grand finals once where Isai dominated the first 2 games or so with luigi which commentators stated was considered a low tier character in Smash 64. Well it turns out, Isai switch to Donkey Kong and started doing bad and ended up losing. When he was interviewed he was asked: "why did you change to Donkey Kong?" to which he replied in the most chill manner: "cause I hadn't played him all day".
Most depressing story:
Allow me to edit in some super fun smash music in the background :DDDDDDD
omegalul
No one:
Isai: Forgive me Ken, just this once I’ll have to go all out!
It’s Isai’s world we’re just living in it

He was the king that never took the throne
He is the god that doesn't want to be worshiped.
He is....Isai

"He seemed unbeatable if he felt like it."
That sounds like it'd be the most intimidating shit going into a match with him lol. Like he seems like a great guy, but I'd be terrified going into a match with him not knowing whether or not I'd get the kind and merciful Isai or be met with the wrath of a god.
13:35
I know this is supposed to be a heart felt moment and all but the background music throws me out of it lol.
On God 😂😂😂
It actually fits surprisingly well lol, but yeah the recognizability throws it off xD
That’s why the actual documentary is much better. The background music ZeRos editor added makes this video significantly worse.
Basically, most of the Melee gameplay we see today was inspired by Isai. Damn, that's insane!!!!
Why are all of professional smash players’ stories so sad?
Good point.
I guess it's their background that drives them to play so well.
Community
I think for a lot of professional gamers they go to video games in their young days to seek relief from life and it leads to them becoming pros
@@lisandrodiaz6320
Makes perfect sense.
"Don't get hit..." Isai's story is one that makes me very emotional. I feel like very few people have such a strong spirit, particularly when it comes to smash. When Isai plays smash because he wants to, it's one of the most genuine things I can imagine someone doing.
This guy seems like he's on a constant high called life and he's livin' it.
Sometimes playing casually, even for the extremely skillful, is more fun than competing; I totally get that.
Me: I feel a disturbance in the internet
*ZeRo uploaded a video 5 Mins ago*
22:34 Zero telling his own future...
Is ironic, he can save anyone but not himself...

*"Why do i hear boss music?"*
He's probably the scariest to play in my eyes because you know in the back of your head this guy could flip a switch and wreck your world. Don't get hit boys
the scary part ist, if isia would try he would win every major. he got top3 without even trying crazy
Hiking & SSB? Sounds like a perfect journey to me. “Don’t get hit” Isai.
Isai had the best episode in the documentary.
EASILY

agreed
With the way things are going, Isai is perhaps the golden boy of smash. I prefer he stays out of the limelight.
13:34 Some highly emotional Wii music
Yo for real
Zero said some really true words during this video, love and feelings can really influence your whole life, let alone smash. and I just wanna say to zero, if you’re reading this, you and isai both were a major influence for me to get into smash as a whole, and you were both the biggest inspirations of my life, thanks so much
Why did this man put wii music over all the emotional moments
This dude is like the mysterious dude in anime who dosnt show his true power till the end
"Don't get hit"
Sounds easy enough
Just get a B+ minimum
Its funny that “don’t get hit” was his advice. I play competitive halo and something that really leveled up my play was somebody saying “yeah dude just try to not get shot” and for some reason it really improved my level of play.
dude his life is just an anime. you could write a manga out of that
Cringe.
@@Wrench-007 not really, the dude seems very genuine from the looks of it, so he probably deserves to be seen as a sort of protagonist
Zero your Smash videos are so good man. I've followed Smash for a while, but you're the first dude that presents the community and scene in a way that truly captivates me. Keep doin what youre doin bro
Isai: DontGetHit
Literally Everyone: *Gets Hit*
I really like the way you're adding more context to these videos ZeRo. I've seen this documentary twice already, and it feels like I'm seeing it for the first time, as well as hearing about these players for the first time. As long as you're wanting to do these kinds of commentary, I'm certain there are more people who'd see you do that than not. Keep it up.
From the title I seriously thought the dude tragically died or something... He's alive, right?
Well and alive
@@ibby_h5574 thens what's so sad?
Ronaldinho Celestine I forgot what happened in the video, but it's probably his relationship with his crush
@@ibby_h5574 ok
@@vigilantdinho i think it's more touching than "sad". One of the greatest Smashers ever, arguably the best at doubles in Melee and at least the 2nd best in 64. But his reasons for competing were unselfish, except that ONE time he wanted to impress a girl he knew. He wanted to play to have fun, and he only wanted to win because he wanted his teammates to feel great. That seems touching to me, at least
3:34 "democracy special" shows Churchill, a literal imperialist and colonizer whos responsible for many famines
13:20 "[intro] im sorry about what happened last night"
thats who is talking in the beginning of the song!!! i never knew that until now!
Damn, whenever Isai got serious, it's almost as if he set standards in the game that will passed down and learned by others to mimic and even refine. It's really awe inspiring to see. Isai story is really making me weep here. I'm not lying, it's damn wholesome. Thank you for providing your input as well Zero.
13:34 I thought that was some motivating music
but it was the Wii Menu Sound
25:11 "i almost felt like crying"
im pretty sure that was a tear tho
"Don't get hit"
*catches a FALCON PUNCH with face*
24:56 this last part where they are wrapping up is so strong to me. He's just so mentally contained even though he's gained so much attention and respect in the community. Isai is cool man. The only thing about him that I'm concerned about is his mental health, he just sounds sad (no offense to him of course.)
"Don't get hit" hahaha that is such a meme. This story got to me, though. Sure, he must've practiced a lot, but the guy must've had talent to be that good. Yet he... just want to have fun. Enjoy his hobbies (hiking and playing SSB) and having friends. I can relate to both. Sometimes is just hard to enjoy your hobbies when you're "forced" into solitude. It's hard when you're shy or have high sensibility and everything affects you more than normal. That also messes with relationships such as having friends. And it's also why something as "simple" as having friends, can turn into a life goal for some people.
I feel Isai, dude.
Isai sounds like the epic mentor that died to save the main character’s life and became a force ghost
16:01 Relatable Gamer Moment
Triber Cookie me
Honestly that was me. But I fought through it. Imagine naruto but not as cool for me. I tried to make friends so I can belong. So I went out and spoke with others. I kept trying and at this point I do it like second nature.

love the series so far. I'm looking forward for the m2k episode
Since ZeRo has started doing this I would really love a video of a general competitive smash history, like all of the greats and who he’s met etc. I think that would be sick and informative.
I showed my friend how sick Isai's Falcon was and now he is a Falcon main
Now show him N0ne
Isai made Falcon the character it is today, I'm still not convinced modern Falcon mains could beat him since he was years ahead of the game with that character
