I’m interested in doing the master gardener program in Central Oklahoma. I don’t have much experience but excited to always keep learning. Great video thank you!

My understanding is that Ronde de Bardeaux ripens earlier than Violette but may not have as complex a flavor

I see some deer damage on some of your trees and noticed the electric fence around the orchard. I just put up a 3D deer fence around my orchard and it is working very well so far. You might want to look into adding a second layer of electric fencing around your orchard about 3 ft away from your existing fence. A single strand about 18" off the ground would work. It supposedly confuses the deer and make them less likely to try to jump over it.

Thank you! Living in south Oklahoma, our soil is clay.. so we have a little difficulty growing trees, any ideas on how to amend the soil for fruit trees?

extension.okstate.edu/fact-sheets/home-fruit-planting-guide.html#planting has a few recommendations on choosing a location for planting fruit trees and how to work with heavy soils that do not drain well.
