I really regret I don't speak Greek, I would have liked to understand the words. I can feel the message, but it's almost frustrating. I love Theodorakis! Simply GREAT!
I discovered Mikis when my Greek pen pal sent me a tape of his music when I was in high school. (30 years ago--can't believe it was so long ago.) I have loved his music ever since then and even got my husband hooked on his music. Don't understand much Greek but his music goes beyond words, doesn't it? I feel so blessed to have seen a concert of his in Chicago some years back. Thank you, Mikis, for your wonderful contributions to the world!

How sad that I belong to a nation that cannot proudly say " I am a German!. I know that many of my compatriots just close the eyes-I feel ashamed . Mikis I apologize for what Germans did to your people. although all of us have always loved Greece and her wonderful people. All people are brothers and sisters-it is politics that spoils. I like it especialy after 7:20 where the Mikis is so moved that can barely sing and signs to the other singers to be ready to get in! And this is my favorite part because he feels it so much that the words can barely make it out! What makes me miserable though is his audience. When the camera moves to show the audience you realise that although Mikis is so passionate the people at the stadium are like robots soouless and with an expression that tells us that got actually nothing of all that :-(
I suggest you to look up in the "tis agapis emata"and "anigo to stoma mou"and "tis dikeosinis ilios"...there are some translations there,in those songs!
