Great video. Thx guys
This is AWESOME keep it up and get in the gym
It was awesome meeting you at Ceasars Head Saturday 👍
Dude, the series name Ran When Parked is so perfect. Can't believe no one else has claimed that one yet. Genius.
Thanks man! Seemed fitting haha
Let he who has never fallen into that trap throw the first stone... Now I need to actually watch the vid!
Ran When Parked: Your weekly dose of Ozark Zen with Joe the Mountain Jedi
For real! Need more! And Joe is amazing definitely knows his shit!
This guy is a gem. Protect him at all costs!
Joe is a treasure.I can listen to him talk for hours joe has a plethora of knowledge.🤘
Aww..... you're gonna make me blush!!😂
I have picked up a few things here and there....
I just can't get over how much knowledge is held inside Joe the Jedi. This gives off some old-school PowerBlock TV vibes! Josh, you and Joe have a great thing here brother!
Power block!! Now that’s a compliment
Man, that's high praise that I am NOT worthy of!!!.... Power block was the "daytime soaps" of gearheads EVERYWHERE!!!
Thank you sir!! I'll try to live up to the standard!
That was a fascinating video. Joe has probably forgotten more about bikes than I'll ever know. His way of explaining things is super informative, but not condescending.
I don't envy you, Josh, for how many editing cuts you probably had to make.
Your camera work was outstanding too. This is going to become a really popular feature.
Thank you. Eric in Kissimmee.
This is what I love. Valuable information. He has a voice for radio.
Got a face for radio too🤣🤣
Hang in there with us...more to come!
You know how you can tell Joe is a master technician and honest? He can talk smoke and work at the exact same time same time.
Not sure if that's a "good thing", but I appreciate it, all the same😂
Loving this series listening to Joe. Always enjoy someone speaking plain language who knows their stuff and isn't hung up on brands and understands most of us who do our own work have bills and living to do.
Hey brother....I've been there!(Hell, I'm STILL there!!!)... Life/kids/bills/things you weren't expecting has a bad habit of sneaking up to bite us all in the ass!!....hope I can show some things that will help you save some money and keep on keeping on!
@@joeyother9969 Hey Joe, hi from Australia. Near on 60 and still there, but now I'm choosing the old girls because I like working on them, learning as I go. Really enjoy and appreciate what you and Josh are doing.
@@mainframe64 I appreciate that sir!!!... Hang in there, cause we're gonna crank it up from here!!
Joe is definitely a wealth of knowledge and experience. Motor Trend TV needs to give Joe his own show.
Oh hell no!!!.... They'd have me shot on sight before I could make it into the parking lot 🤣
This series is excellent! Joe is an encyclopedia!
This is shaping up to be a really fun series. I'm having a hell of a trip down memory lane. Back in the day, when a young lady named Shannon M. and the Kawasaki Eliminator were the stuff of my dreams. Hope you guys are having fun making this series, because I'm really enjoying your collaboration. Cheers!
Loving these "Ran When Parked" videos with Joe the Mountain Jedi
I had a 1986 ZL600 Eliminator. It was a 600cc, 6-speed, 4-carb bad boy, with a slightly detuned GPZ engine for street use, and did I say it ran like a scalded-ass ape. Loved that bike.
Owned a ZL 1000 in 2007 till 2016 bought it as a basket case . Restored it and drove it 10 hours to mid Ohio motorcycle meet in 2009 and again in 2011. Used to belong to ZL owners club for several years but I sold it to a guy that couldn't live without it. And moved on to other projects. But it's still one of my favorite bikes of all time.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1985 ZL900 was my first bike in my 20's. I still love these bikes. Now that I am older and questionably more mature, I'll be buying one when if I
can find an unmolested bike. The only real downside to the eliminator is the small tank. I was always the guy on long trips that needed gas. The upside was that my backside never got sore on long trips.
Wind him up and let him talk. The British Britanica of motorcycles. I’ve got a feeling you don’t have to wind to tight. Good job on the editing.
The force is strong with this one
This is the way brother!!!!
24:33. Joe's shirt is priceless
Very knowledgeable, sounds like a NBC news comment, and comedian. He’s a keeper
Joe has a lot of natural charisma.. Keep coming, Joe. You could have a million subs yourself!
I had an 85. Best material possession I ever had. I can't wait to see how this progresses.
Tree, this is one of if not the best video that you've posted. I can listen to Joe talk for hours. Very informative and educational. Joe The Moutain Jedi RULES....
I appreciate the kind words sir!!.... Hang in there bud, we're just getting started!!
JOE is everyone favorite uncle .. we all have one in our family ... .i miss mine
Rest in peace, I’m sorry for you loss
Knowledge is power. Keep it up. Learn all the ways of the jedi. Love learning something everyday. Thanks.
Really enjoying this series.
Great video. Jo is a real cool guy.
This is awesome! As wrenching on old bikes myself this is a lot of great info. Looking forward to new episodes!
That shirt is my style absolutely
I bought a 400 DOHC Limited Edition Eliminator with Dual Front Discs ,from a guy who couldn't get it to run ,for £350. It wouldn't rev above 4000 rpm without spluttering, I took one look at it, and noticed a gap between the carbs and the airbox, squeezed the two together and Bingo! It revved clean up to 15,000rpm. I test rode it, took it to friend and got £450 and a backie home from him. It was a classic 70's style , like a small Dyna, but I wasn't into them at the time so just made the easiest 100 bucks ever.😂😂
I'm an age old hand at repairs on outboard motors, cars, bikes and houses but I enjoy listening to Joe , always something to learn, and he's not Patronising, he explains the valid reason for doing things.👍
Josh your channel did more than any other single source for getting me to get off my ass and back onto a bike 3 years ago. Seeing this kind of stuff with this level of detail with Joe is an amazing evolution for your content. I don't speak for everyone but I like all of your content for different reasons - but this series is shaping up to be my favorite thing of yours. Keep up the great work and thank you Joe for sharing your wisdom with us! So good!
Thank you for the kind words my friend!
Joe is a Gem, excellent start to a series.
Joe's a real character and a top mechanic
Man, I could listen to Joe TMJ talk all day long! Loving these videos!
Joe is awesome with his knowledge!!!
Knowing all those quirks is something else.
I love these vids. A guy can learn a lot just listening to Joe.
I'm loving these videos! I need to adjust the valves on my Triumph which I have never done before. I wish I had the Mountain Jedi to walk me through it.
Joe the mountain jedi the Real Deal he is icing on the cake.
Have you SEEN ME???.... No cake is safe around me(especially if it's chocolate!!)😂
😂 lol but it's good going down that 🎂
Love it! Want more of it! Learning about old bikes or even new ones and how to do it is GREAT!
Lol.....brace yourself, were just getting ramped up here!!!
Monday's installment is gonna be deep in the "nerd zone"!!!
When Joe mentioned dowel pins falling out i relieved a Vietnam PTSD flashback.
I like this guy! informative and Entertaining with the country boy flair!
I had a ZL1000. Miss that bike.
Love this stuff
Great video guys. Joe you are a mountain of knowledge. Thanks for sharing this with all of us.
My pleasure!!
I love making old "junkers" run not only as they should, but making folks on the new gsxzrmlmnop "it bike" of the month go"SHIT, that thing is FAST!!"
Buckle up bud, were just getting cranked up on this one👍
I love this series man Joe the Mountain Jedi is killing it. He is a mad must on here. I had an 87 ZL 1000 back in the day. It was bad ass. This brings back so many memories spun the number three Rod bearing on it . One too many hole shots.👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
I have an 80's Honda vt500. Please continue to inspire and motivate me to finish the honey do list on her. The information contained within this video is greatly appreciated.
Joe is a wealth of knowledge, witty and very entertaining. Genuinely would be a shame for him to not spin up a UA-cam channel. I know he has a Patreon but he could be big on UA-cam and grow an audience to push to his Patreon.
Regardless, another lovely video man, keep up the awesome work! ❤
"Im a fountain of useless information" i feel that
Damn.... that dude is a walking service/moto history manual.
I genuinely get excited when shad and the Jedi have a new video out!
Loving this series Shadetree, thank you and Joe, this shit is priceless
Joe is a God Damn star, I tell ya!
That slingblade at the end had me rolling!😅😂😂
tis great how Joe explains stuff
I appreciate that.....I always try to break things down so that they are relatable to people, even if they don't have a solid working knowledge of the particular subject....
There's been PLENTY of times over the years when I've been at some tech course, or class and the presentation "defaults" to technical/industry jargon, and at times you see some people just "glaze over"( myself included!!) because the terminology is unfamiliar, and no good practical example is provided....
I'm GOOD with crayons and stick figures!!😂
Cool. Joe is the man! In the 1980s I was riding a 1970s Kawasaki Z900. It was considered The King in the 70s. But in the 1980s these water cooled cycles were monsters. I couldn't keep up.
SUPERB info, Joe! Thank you!
Good video, good practical information, i learned alot watching this series, thanks joe and shadetree.🏍️
Hang in there with us James....were just getting started!!
Love this! This dude is giving me conway twitty vibes with that voice and hair! Lol.. conway was the man!!
this guy is Brilliant I love this guy
Lol.....nah, I just love what I do man!!
I appreciate the sentiment tho!!
Now I know what's happened to Josh's Face, 😢he's been crying with laughter that long Hydraulic Fracture has set in!😂😂
This is great! it's like a motor trend series for bikes
Probably one of the best places to get educated! Keep up the great work.
I greatly appreciate it sir!!
Joe really knows his stuff and very entertaining!
I appreciate that man!!!.... Been a wild ride, and I ain't planning on stopping anytime soon!
Goddamn. I had an eliminator back in the day. Rode it Germantown Maryland to Biloxi Mississippi and back Loved that bike.
I bought one of these after it had been described as a 'wailing banshee of a bike' , I was not disappointed. GPZ900 engine in a cruiser that handled (for its time) was as many smiles per gallon as I needed, front was rarely on the ground. Only downside was the small tank, range was pitiful at about 80 miles from full to hip shaking for the dregs.
The mountain jedi needs his own channel!
Joe`s the real deal. great show!
Awesome video. I could listen to Joe all day.
I've never heard a country rapper before . I don't like country and I don't like rap , however I love this guys tune .
Give him a beat ❤
This has been one of the best videos ever, Joe has amazing knowledge and a great way to present the information. Very knowledgeable!!! I know nothing about any motor but this is really entertaining and riveting…
Stick around....this bike is gonna be here for a bit, and is basically a "no holds barred lab rat"!!....by the time we wrap up on the ZiL, you'll be a gearhead before you know it!!
My primary objective with these videos is to educate, and help people be more self sufficient with their scooters......the more you know, the more you realize you DON'T know.
That's what keeps you out of trouble, and out of the dealerships pocket!
GREAT VIDEO THANKS GUYS
This is awesome - tons of knowledge just pouring out. Thanks
This bike was on my wall as a kid too !
Just love that you are making good content again, and not just weird ass Only Fan’s Girls and things like that.
It is good to se Her two wheels, Blockhead, etc. but many people don’t have money for the things the ride and talk about.
So this makes more sense to many regular people 🏍️😎👍🏻
Nice to have the old Shadetree back
Man. We need more of this!!!! I thought I was a smart cookie when it came to bikes
Sheeeiiitttttt. I learned some shit today
I always learn something but there’s plenty I don’t know haha
Love the name, ran when parked, my friend has an eliminator 900 and 250, so yeah loved the vid, perfect for us because we're always working on them, they both run on ride and have been to Burts Baracuda many times. Thanks for the video can't wait till the next one!
Man, I MISS my 2fiddy eliminator!!!...that bike was my first street bike when I was 13!!(I fibbed a wee bit on my license 😂)
That was great! Joe's clearly a master wrench. Thanks for all the tips, Brothers.
Buckle up boss.....it's gonna get fun from here!!😁
Best new series on UA-cam!!!!!!!!!
Maybe not the "best", but it'll damned sure be the most honest, and fun one!!
Hang in there man, were just now getting cranked up 👍
This is awesome. ASMR for people who like bike.
Now that man is REAL DEAL mechanic 😮 I wish we had one around my area.
My dude can run an assessment on a motorycle like its nothing. I work in medicine and we have a quote.. a good mechanic would make a GREAT doctor. Shoutout form westmonroe la.
My bike all of a sudden started showing miles per hour way higher than what im going...example if im going 30 mph it will show like 60ish or higher..any idea whats going on?
Post up your year/make/model, and let me ponder on it and see what might be causing it!!!
2021 streetbob..thanks for replying man.
No worries brother!!!... As far as your Speedo going bongo...first thing I'd look at is the speed sensor itself....see if it's got metal swarf stuck to the tip of it from inside the trans that may be confusing the signal it's producing....
Past that, trace the wire up from the sensor and see if it may be coming into contact with another wire(shorting) or running close to a plug wire that may be arcing over and corrupting the signal......late model Harley electronic speedos are usually pretty bombproof, and usually they just plain work, or they don't.....your local shop may have the ability to diagnose the Speedo itself, or you may need to see Harley about it, but check the sensor and wiring first!!
👍
I love Joe the Mt. Jedi! He's hilarious! I love his explanations, priceless! Jayman...
Hey bub.....I calls em like I sees em!!😁
@@joeyother9969 Absolutely! That's why you're so awesome! Jayman...
Nice series. I’ll be watching for the next issue.
Leeeeettttsssss Gooooooooooo! I’ve been wanting a street bike of sorts for years, but life’s twist and turn has yet to make it practical for me. Dirt bikes it’s been. I feel like it’s getting close to the right time! Though my girl is asking for another kid… 😂 Long time follower, love the channel!
I appreciate the support my friend!
Great info once again... You guys are knocking this outta the park! Thanks Josh and Joe.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for taking the time to watch!👍
I love this. I joined joes Patreon. Lifelong motorcycle fanboy. I have had motorcycles most of my life. And shopping for my next one after a few years without. I want to do the work and upkeep on my next bike. And found this episode amazing.
I greatly appreciate it, and you sharing your story with us!!!!.... Hope I can help you with whatever you nail down as your next scooter!!
Awesome! Knowledge that the internet needs!
Big G'day Shadetree from Down Under 🇦🇺
May all your days be Harley days
💪🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤💪
Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾🇦🇺
Outstanding content !!!
Loving the series. Great work!
While I might have wished to been a part of the heydays of the 1960s muscle car era, I have zero regrets that I was actively part of the motorcycle technology boom of the early-mid 1980s with so many fond memories of those first V-4 Hondas, radical ZLs, VMax, and Fazers, then of course the Ninjas, Hurricanes, and GSXRs...absolute dealership rat with my walls filled with so many brochures of all my dream bikes, which led to my brand spanking new Interceptor in 1986!
At the very least your ZL-9 deserves to be put back to stock paint, correct seat, and a full detail. Never did care for the ZL-1000 with its changes to the seat and other cosmetic details, but those 9s sure were the dogs dangles- even if you weren't necessarily a Kawi fan.
Seat is "in the works"....as far as the rest of it goes....hang in there, cause we're just getting ramped up into this one!
Just rebuilt the front forks on my Dyna! Glad to see you guys working on this cool bike.
Good on ya man!!!... Going to be doing a "fork video" on this one here....stay tuned!!
Who knew Unknown Hinson was a motorcycle mechanic?! 😂😂😂
Another great shirt, Joe!
Thankie kindly!!
My first bike was a ZL600! Bike is wicked! And those carbs are a pain in the ass to sync!
(laughs in 1st gen Honda Valkyrie).... These are easy....try it when there's 6 of them, or worse, ANY of the Honda v4s!!😳
28:20 Excellent explanation of correct oil properties! So right! Keep on. 👍
Thank you sir!!!... As bumpkin as I may sound, I DO try to present correct information whenever it is a "serious/non hillbilly" topic!!
I appreciate you recognizing it for what it is, and NOT falling into the usual "my brothers/neighbors/ex husbands/4th cousins/etc regurgitation of the same Internet folklore!!!
@joeyother9969 My favorite was: "Change the filter, top it off. Oil don't wear out." Egads!
Yeah.....that was a dark time, for sure!!!!
Unfortunately, I had to "fire" a customer over that exact same mindset several years ago 😞
I like this series keep it up
I sure needed that info on compression ten years ago when I replaced the engine on my 81 seca 750
playing this and listening to him talk about what he is looking at on the bike at 2x speed is hilarious. lololololol. That accent is wowiiiiiieeeeeee.
Hey now.....I worked hard on that🤣
