Absolutely love this, so much more relatable and realistic (to me anyway) than most other declutter videos where they basically just get rid of PR packages. And we are not judging you for your Monica closet, we all have somewhere that we stash random things and think oh wow when did it get this full. So motivating!

Yes! I feel like in the other videos they have pre-sorted stuff so it’s amazing to see someone being so honest about what they have and how you have decluttered and organised. It makes me think maybe I can tackle some of my hoard

Decluttering taught me that you literally NEVER need more makeup. I havnt bought makeup for 2 years now because i dont allow myself to anymore. I have 5 foundations, no i dont need to "try" a new one!

Girl EVERYONE has a "Monica closet" in one way or another. (We call ours "the garage", so sad!) I loved watching this because you were keeping it REAL and not trying to sell anything or pretend. Refreshing! As a side note, I'm American and your accent is lovely to listen to. :) I have a small house and this has motivated me to go attack my hall closet today! Cheers!
Not everyone has a monica closet. that is why i watch these videos. I find declutter videos so satisfying that i am jealous sometimes because my house is so neat that i have nothing to declutter. I am just like that personality that is not very sentimental and i dont keep things just incase. The things i do keep are in labeled bins.
Lol Yeah we don’t have a Monica closet these days… more like what we call the “spare ooom” (think Narnia lol)… & we can now safely say we have 2 spare oooms at the moment. 😬🥴

This video makes me realize how far I've come in decluttering in the past 2 years. Example, I only have a handful of makeup products now.
I know you did this months ago but I have to say how realistic you are in showing what a great person you are and how difficult it can be to keep our belongings under control.
You have motivated me to go through some things that I have been putting off. I have a dresser in my bedroom that I have not a clue what is there and most of it has not been touched in years so that stuff can be trashed. In my kitchen I have absolutely got to go through all of my spices and get rid of probably at least a third of. My main problem is having severe pain as well as chronic fatigue syndrome which means that I have to get really realistic about how much I can fully do in one day at a time.
Wow, that was a marathon declutter, I open the drawer/cupboard and am overwhelmed so close it and pretend it’s not there 😂😂 ostrich or what 🤣 good job done xxx👍🏻

I personally don't have a spending envelope in my budget for this reason. If I really need something I have to actually budget for it. This way clutter stays outside my house. So wasteful to just buy stuff instead of experiences. Great video 👍 you got this 💜

Love a good declutter I did this in lockdown with my kitchen cupboards and have storage boxes in them now labelled so much easier to find things! Love it 😊 xx

I started gathering items around the house like extra deodorant, soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoos conditioners, hair accesories, dishsoaps.... I put in 2 gallon zip bags by categories. I have years worth of supplies!!

I like the way your bed opens up. Mine is from Ikea and opens from the bottom so hard to get to corners. I consider under the bed as my "basement".

So refreshing watching someone in the UK decluttering. You totally described all my hiding places & my "Monica cupboard". You've done an amazing job. Inspired me to have a go at getting rid of some tomorrow. I hate taking things into charity shops. Today I picked up 5 more items of clothing for my 3 year old. Does he need them... No. I just had to look whilst I was there. Would be so much easier to do a drive by, drop off like in the USA. Thanks for sharing.
Noones judging cause were all here for the very same reason! Things get out of hand in our homes and noone likes to admit it or deal with it. You've admitted it and filmed it for us and you did great tackling that!!

Decluttering is hard , I’m married to a collector, and I over de clutter sometimes throwing things out too soon… it’s just a balance u r wonderful
I've thrown a lot of stuff out filled 5 bin liners for the Charity shop some clothes with labels still on and a lot of stuff out of the kitchen now to start on the room. Happy New Year sweetheart 🥰 xxx

I have started this year too cleaning out everything, got stuff that’s been in closets or in totes for 20 years or more ., WHY ??? Why am I keeping this crap ?!? The trash man is going to hate me in the next few months .. but it’s ok .. it’s out of my house ! I’m just sick & tired of keeping stuff I don’t need or I don’t use .. it’s crazy 😜 But it feels so much better getting it out & having the extra room to use for things I really need .

Your makeup drawers look like mine. I’ve thrown out stuff, put stuff in makeup storage caboodle cases, and now I have to go through my vanity table on top. My room will be much neater if I get that done. I put away my winter clothes in storage bags now they go under the bed. I am in the same place. Just got to let stuff go. When you declutter and put stuff in the garbage as you go, it’s easier to do. I’m going to try that way.
OMG! Can I relate to you! Although, I have to say, at least you can close your draws and doors and only broke 1! I"m so sick of spending time cramming , jamming and camouflaging my clutter and always dusting and vacuuming, but, not sorting and hauling out. So glad I randomly clicked on yr video. With the tooth fairy box etc I have a large plastic tub with a click on lid & in it are my school reports, some uniform bits, yearbooks, baby book etc. I also have one for each of my kids & my hubby has one too.
I don't judge you at all, first because it wouldn't be nice but second (and mainly) because we're all in the same boat here ;)

I just took down the trees and decorations and put them all away. My little house feels huge at the moment. I find when I come back from Christmas trying to find spots for my new items etc makes me reorganize and declutter. It feels so good to have it done but there is definitely a darkest before the dawn moment when there are no words to explain….
It makes the house feel so empty doesn't it! Deffo feels like the house is a lot lighter now 😂

Thank you for sharing. It couldn't be easy to show everyone your Monica closet. But your bravery makes me want to check around for my Monica space. I do declutering every six months or so, but the stuff keeps growing back. No matter how good I get at one place, there is always a cupboard that has at least few things that I don't need anymore.

Great declutter. A suggestion: get a bik to hold your seasonal stuff like your christmas Halloween eetc so it is all together and u can find your fake blood and spiderebs:)

I would suggest placing non-stick vinyl sheets on the bottom of your drawers. This would hide any damage done by spilled make-up and prevent any future damage. Great video.

Please empty those make up containers and bring them to sephora.They have a recycling campaign in most stores.The same goes for bottles made of glass for make up perfumes etc.

I have to tackle the downstairs room in my house...the upstairs is great, but the down stairs....it needs love.
i would store my off season clothing under the bed so my closet could be more streamlined. Bc we used to live in southern California so it was 50°F to 80°F year round. Now we live in North Carolina and we get 4 seasons and horrible humid triple digit up to 105°F summers and freezing sometimes single digit winters. I keep it all in the closet year round bc the bugs here in NC are on a whole other level than CA too and I don't want to rotate the to the garage, and we don't have an attic or basement.

I won’t judge (I haven’t watch the full video), but in my experience if is just me I just have a set of 4 plates of each stile, cups, forks, spoons, mugs and knives. For food storage bowls I do meal prep so one per day and 3 extra that are bigger and 1 smaller for sauce.
Definitely no judging... just relating. I feel that most people have a Monica Closet of some sort where they just shove things and forget about them. As far as the toothfairy box, you should get a clear plastic tub and start making a memory box, keep all those things from childhood and any other sentimental items that you don't really want to part with in it so that you can keep them. Just remember though one tub per person and it has to be able to all fit, if it is overflowing it is time to go through it.

clutter is so hard Jess, it took me 23 months at a weekend a month due to the removal costs and my circumstances. I did 2 sometimes if it was big stuff like furniture I am looking for a rota now so it does not happen again after the mega declutter.
mine could not have been done over a week.
