Free plans are on the way!! This is pretty much the biggest ramp you can make from a single sheet of plywood for the two sides. It's way bigger than what I would want to try too lol. This ramp and landing was built for a friend who gave me specs to build. I hope this project is helpful and if you have any helpful tips, please leave them below :)

MODERN BUILDS
Hi, My name is Mike Montgomery and I'm a MAKER; a designer, builder, and full-time content creator. Accessibility is my focus with Modern Builds, not simply accessibility of designs, but accessibility in materials, information, and projects themselves. I've focused on creating furniture and DIY projects that are simple enough that any beginner maker can accomplish, yet interesting enough that any expert might be inspired. Building and making is becoming less and less of an exclusive hobby and profession. My goal is to reduce that separation even further. - Навчання та стиль
Rules number one in ramp building… builder has to take the first ride. Now let’s see those blooper reels!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to see “Mike’s first flip!!”
If you did decide to use that ramp, you may end up with 'Mike's Second Flip'. Cant wait to see your friend use it!
This is going to be a hell of a house renovation.
A rental house with a ramp? yes, please.
Double up that ply on the lip.
This ramp is going to making a big feature in a video I've got coming up soon.. can't give away any secrets but I'll be able to share soon! Thanks for watching!
Waiting for it...
I'll be legendary
I can understand that you are very greedy for money,
But I didn't know that you were brought up so badly and you broke his heart because of a woman, and you displayed her photo in cyberspace to play with another woman.
Now that woman will go and wrap you like a cloth and threaten that you are causing trouble because you gave me the picture.
I am really affected and heartbroken
Where are our youth going?!
Now I feel like I have to report you so UA-cam can make a decision about you. so as not to hurt others.
Shame on you young people who play with people's reputation.
Yes, I said it many times, do you understand what I said now?
That woman has a lot of revelations. I didn't believe it because I had been following Mike for several years. When she showed me her number, her ex-girlfriend's photo, her nude photo, and Mike's messages, I believed her.
Mike, I'm sorry, but I hate you. And I unsubscribe you.😥👎👎👎
Awww, I thought we were going to get to watch you try it out.... maybe get fancy with it, and we'd get to see "Mike's Second Flip"
u definitely need to coat the ramp with something weather proof and brace the sides more, and add diagonal cross members to atleast the landing as the bike would excert forces to the sides. And use glue for added strength, and the launch ramp need another layer of plywood with glue inbetween as the forces could easly brake the plywood in between studs as only the tires make contact, concetrating the forces the bike and biker excert. Atleast my two cents as its for a friend, I would overengineer the jesus of the out it. Maybe even add brakets for ground spikes so It cant move.
🎶It's Mike's first ramp! 🎶
Great video! Could have made the landing a bit wider for comfort and a case pad would have been nice also
HEY 1:42, PLEASE make that middle cut out to a wall surfboard; it looks like one
I had no idea you made this video, thank you for making this… I’ve been waiting for one of by big time woodworkers to make a ramp. Thanks
Looking forward to seeing it in use!
Great job. I enjoy how you approach your projects and walk everyone through them as you go. Even if it is something you do for the first time, you end up with a great product.
I get it. Mike's 'first flip' is really a reference to his new skate ramp.
Supposed to build a landing of 45 degrees, but came out to 22.5 degrees? :P
Came here for that comment.... 45 degrees as in the diagonal of that squarish shape... Not quite
That would be cool to see those and use
🎶 it's Mike's first (KICK)flippp! 🎶
Is there a rule that you have to make the 2x4 spacing 8" apart?
I bet this project was refreshing after installing LVP in an entire house!
Hell. Yes.
darn, I thought this would be the series finale of MIKE'S FIRST FLIP and you would like, you know, do a flip!
I'm lost, how did we jump from house renovation videos to ramp building?
Yeah there was like no intro and just jumped right in to the build. Zero lead in felt really weird.
His channel is not just about house renovations. He makes stuff sometimes
@ have been hear long enough if not from the start of his channel,,,, agree with ,,, I'm saying he just jump to ramp video like the house renovations were not a series
The video in a couple weeks will be off his friend eating it. 😂
Where's the jump!? 🤔😑
Please tell me you are surfing off the coast of Australia, or something similar. You finished the reno months ago, right? Lordy, it's taking FO-EH-VAH for you to show us the house reno! Why is it taking so long?
Lol. This kid is from Oklahoma, he wouldn't know how to surf to save his life.
@@MillimeterDefeater720 OK, so maybe he's skateboarding in Brazil. My point is he should probably hire an editor, or fire the current one, because Mike seems to be totally preoccupied with other, ventures. He started that reno 9 months ago, and I can't believe it's taken 9 months of consistent work to still not be done. What are you doing Mike? Is the job finished? Did the house sell? Could you maybe bring us up-to-date instead of dragging us along?
@@madzabinga8382 Yes, I agree. He is just a struggling YT desperate for any content he can to avoid actually getting an education and a real world job. He is a dreamer.
@@MillimeterDefeater720 On this, I do not agree. I think his success with other ventures is putting his UA-cam focus on the back burner. He has over 1 million subs. This guy has a full time job and has been successful enough to buy 2 houses and flip them. I think his dreams have gotten him pretty far.
@@madzabinga8382anyone can buy bot subscribers. There’s only 18k views on the video, that’s barely 1% oh the subscriber count
That's a pretty harsh transition for a BMX bike or Motorcycle. At speed, there will be a LOT of pressure pushing the whole ramp forward and a lot of momentum lost. On your force comment, the landing will take more force downward, but the launch ramp will take more force horizontally.
Get back to the house build.
