- Here is my quick comparison video of these two powerful amplifiers. All amp EQ is set noon and gain is set to 3 o'clock. Captured using a Two Notes Torpedo Live into Logic Pro X. No post processing at all on the guitars.
All guitars tracked using this beautiful Gibson Les Paul Traditional 2018. Huge thanks to my dear friend Nick Richardson of Furyborn for the gear loan.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe.

That Les Paul is the sexiest Gibson I've ever seen. It's perfect. Great sounding video, playing incredible as always you absolute master
Bless you brother. Love this Les Paul. I might see if Nick forgets he left it with me 🤣🤣🤣
Just got the Rockerverb MKii, love it!
Yeah man me too last week. Has the best open feeling distortion. Some of the best lead cuts I've ever used. The rhythm is amazing on it.
@@philipcoaxum8792 Nice! Have you used it live? If so, what are your impressions? I've been playing with various eq pedals in the loop to add some high mids, and have found a Boss SD1 to be a great boost.
@mountainpeakcloud8442 I haven't used it live yet but i am gonna be recording with it soon. I have a home studio and while it is loud, the master works exceptionally well. I am looking to get an overdrive/boost for it. You mentioned the one i have my eye on.
@@philipcoaxum8792 Nice! Yeah, the reason I like the SD1 is because the amp has a tone of low mids, and the gain can get pretty hairy... all good things for certain situations... but the SD1 cuts some of the low end, so you hear more high mids, and it also helps to tighten up the gain and make is smoother. The only other pedal I've used in front is the Boss BD2, and it didn't work as well IMO. I've tried 3 different EQ pedals in the loop to boost and cut different frequencies, the Boss GE7, Orange Two Stroke and the Guptech PdEQ, and out of all of the I like the Orange Two Stroke the best, it sounds the most transparent imo. good luck.
@mountainpeakcloud8442 thanks man great advice on it. I will check that eq pedal out. I run fishman moderns which work fairly well with it and reduce noise. But they have an annoying amount of honk in them with the rockerverb, so i have to turn the tone knob down a little bit.
The clean channel is actually better than people give it credit for. You just have to run it very differently from how you'd run a normal clean channel. You almost have to kill the mids and run some bass and a just a bit more treble. Listen and you'll get the sound. I think that's why people fail in making oranges sound good. They use their eyes. Thing is they keep their sound consistently, don't change when you turn it on another time.
Heard here... with good speakers... not on a phone... Orange it is!
Thanks for watching mate 👍
Orange is juicier.
Good work !
What are the settings on Torpedo Live? Cabs, Mic, Ambience and Equalization?
Great tones !! Congratulations!
I’m using a Friedman cab I believe with a condenser mic plus some upper mids boosted in the EQ section. Thanks for watching 👍
Nice comparison. Love that les paul
Thanks for watching 👍
Very cool song! I think both the amps sound really great despite being different.
Thanks dude. Both great amps.
Brilliant sounding!!LIKE#9
Thank you so much 😊
Really cool jam !
Thanks very much 🙏
Wow! Great display. However; You made each amp sound stellar! Can't choose!!! 😉.....
Damn good playing brother.
Thanks very much for watching, dude! 🙏
I love a 5150 III, but I always thought when it comes to lead it's a little thin at times. That's very clear here.
Chord bloom quite nicely with the Orange 🙂.
Wow. Not sure how I missed this comment. Apologies for the 3 year response time 🤣
Plenty of mids! I find if the bass and treble are set too high, the mids will always be fighting amongst the other frequencies, depending on the tone stack circuit of course.
For leads I often have to boost the Orange with a mid boost set quite low and it helps shelf the low end a little. Same trick with a tube screamer.
The other thing to be conscious of is how much gain is being used. Too much and it’ll squash everything to death.
Thanks for checking out the video dude 👍
@@DannyBeardsley 😊 that's cool dude 😊.
Hope ya well
I've only used the combos of each, but I can dial them in so that they sound the same. It's an easy purchasing decision. In Canada, the EVH is almost $1500.00 less than the Rockerverb.
Wow! That’s a crazy price difference! Both great amps. 👍 Thanks for tuning in.
Orange hands down!
Agreed 🤘🤘🤘
How many watts is the orange? Just curious.
50 watts. Incredibly loud but controllable with the built in attenuation.
The rockerverb is one of the best amps out there. Especially for the price. Top three lead tones for me.
Totally agree. Keeps up with most, if not all the amps I’ve played through the years. Very flexible amp. Perfect set of features for a valve amp.
Damn, this song is DOPE!!!
Thanks buddy!
@@DannyBeardsley you're welcome!!!
@@DannyBeardsley I love how you have this 80s almost Aerosmith riff, combined with a Reb Beach/Eric Johnson phrased Guitar solo section, then end with an Old Man's Child style black metal outro. Yet it all flows and works seamlessly together
Plenty of wonderful compliments there. Thank you very very much! 🤘
I've never heard an EVH sound so muffled.
I was using the blue channel I think which isn’t quite as bright sounding, but there is a good possibility it was how I set the amp. It’s a really great amp.
@@DannyBeardsley oh...ok. Thanks for the info.
Orange always
💯 %, dude!
Orange was great :)
I have to agree I prefer the Orange. Thanks for watching 🤘
Orange wins
I agree 😉
