    Every fucking amp review should be like this. No complains, just facts. Straight to the point and starting with sounds. Not a half an hour long intro.
    Loved it. Thank you.

      I am baffled by those demonstrations where you can only see the guy talking and describing in front of the cam on how to set up, without showing the actual parts and processes.

    I find the orange to have a bigger sound, it's darker. And more organic, but you can get these two amps to sound like each other. I would use the orange for rhythm and Marshall for leads. Maybe a little more gain

      Have to agree. I bought the orange over the Marshall for that darker sound but both sound great

    Have both, love both. The boost in front actually pulls them ever so slightly closer to each other in a recording. That kinda surprised me a bit. I play mid-gain and don't boost, for that they are far more different sounding. Both amps are absolute BEASTS! In a mix together...AMAZING.

    If there's one thing i love about Orange amps, it's that i love that they embrace the lower mid frequencies as opposed to the upper mid frequencies like you hear from a lot of Marshall amps. I've got a Crush Pro 120 that i use in conjunction with a Graphic EQ and an OPT compressor in the loop for more high end bite, and it rips the face off of any other amp that i own.
    As great as it sounds with the Crush Pro 120, i've always wondered if the Rockerverb would sound better with a 6 band EQ in the loop and the face knobs used in a similar manner to a Mesa Mark series amp.

    • @dueskeylat6063

      I agree! I have the same head and i throw a clean boost and eq to cut of some low end for some extra bite and punch. It sounds amazing!

      EQ and compressor in the loop is the “secret ingredient” for Solid State to sound great.
      Obviously the SS amp needs to be good to begin with, considering EQ’s can’t add frequencies that aren’t already there to begin with.
      The Orange Solid-state amps are awesome!

    Orange way fatter creamier warmer and wider sound, marshall thinner dryer with more bite but more sterile due to it’s cold bias preamp gain stage, have both and the Orange can get close to the JCM and beyond due to 4 stages compared to 2 preamp gain stages on the JCM800, but not the opposite

    These 'small' channels with under 100K subs such as TriCrow, Toby, Zach Wish, Sonic Drive, and Lambchopper (this one's an exception) are always the best in showcasing high gain amps. Tuning is either E or drop D and the riffs happen to be from bands I listen to frequently. Bigger channels are either blues dad or ultra low drop Z tuned riff.

    this shows exacly why I love the Orange so much: Without bass you can hear the notes you're playing while on teh marshall is mostly texture but the fundamentals are not very present! On the other hand the Marshall attack is unique

    Dude, first of all, what a cool riff! I don't have rockerverb but I have several Orange amps and this video is such a good depiction of how they interact. When I play at home, I really like the orange tone, sounds full, fat, alive... sincerely I have my jcm800 in the storage room. Now, time to record guitar tracks come, the jcm800 sits on top of the mix, clear, cutting through, present. Orange, gets scooped, hard to place, lots of post eq work to give it presence. I love orange amps, again I have many. But the JCM is a classic for a reason

  • @XChristianNoirX
    @XChristianNoirX Рік тому +2

    I'll take the clarity and cut of the Marshall hands down, but the Orange has some nice girth that would be cool dialing with the Marshall sound... Bit at that point, I might go 5150, slightly mixing in the Marshall cut.

    On these videos you should do a final section where you combine the amps, these 2 would blend amazingly. Marshal has those defined highs, the RV has a mid push. THe RVV sounded much heavier in the drop C riff.

    I am sadly not expert enough with amp lingo and tying that to what I'm hearing, so y'all please bear with me. I think what I heard in this video was that the Marshall had "congested" mids while whatever the Orange was doing "breathed" or was a bit more "open." I undoubtedly preferred the Rockerverb in this video, I just want to know why. The JCM800 sounded a bit like its frequencies were fighting themselves whereas the Orange just sang clearly.

      @@0megalul309 Right, except for Mastodon, Sleep, Boris, Slipknot, The Mars Volta, Korn etc... Keep in mind the Rockerverb is a relatively new amp as the first version was launched in 2003, so it hasn't had nearly the amount of time to be recorded compared to the jcm800, yet it's become a staple in quite a few well known bands/guitarists, and a lot more lesser known bands. The jcm800 was launched in 1981, and at the time there were a lot fewer amps with decent gain, so of course the 800 was going to make it onto a lot more records... comparing how much each amp has made it onto a record is relatively meaningless. The jcm800 is undoubtedly a classic, but the Rockerverb has becomes a modern classic, and has a very unique voicing, so it's really an apples and "Oranges" comparison.

  • @xdarrenx
    @xdarrenx 26 днів тому

    the rockerverb is kind of a Quality-of-life upgrade to the JCM isn't it? Similar kind of voicing, but tighter, more gain, in built attentuator, all the things that people compensated for on the JCM in the 80's with an actual attentuator, and an actual boost pedal

  • @emerymarcell8898
    @emerymarcell8898 Рік тому +1

    It’s honestly funny but unfortunate how many /purists/ I see posting on videos like this that hate new brands just for being new. The Rockerverb is clearly insanely similar and usable in sound signature compared to the JCM. There may be some tonal difference worth a preference, but certainly nothing worth calling one garbage over the other. They’re both superb in their own right and have their own characteristics that make them shine.

    The leads just sound so much more round, bouncy and 3D on the 800. the Orange sounds flat by comparison. Bedroom players will love the extra low end that it provides, but that's not really useful in a band. I had a Rockerverb III and it lasted two gigs.
