Fantastic! Her first stage outing after almost three decades and she wins an award pronto. This is to be followed by a Tony no less for "Three Tall Women" in 2018. Absolutely looking forward to her return to film and TV.
I’m proud to say I saw her on the Broadway stage in Macbeth. My stepfather, who was an avid Shakespeare scholar, gasped when she gave the ‘Unsex Me’ monologue. He said he had never had his breath taken away by a performance of that caliber.
siddharth nagar She's older now and probably is more comfortable, back then I assume she wasn't fond of the amount of attention and just wanted to act for the sake of acting minus the attention and celebrity lifestyle.
I think it's because she's older and her opinion about awards has changed somewhat. She did a great interview about wining the Oscars, and she said she felt she didn't do anything for them, and again, she didn't like the whole Hollywood thing. She loves acting but have you heard her talk about things like plastic surgery? She made some classic remarks about it when she was young and said she looked forward to growing old and that she would never have that procedure. Well, we can see she's a woman of her word. She didn't lie.
This would have been so much better if she had praised the director and cast (which she neglected to do) instead of making sly and unnecessary political digs. Glenda Jackson is a very fine actress but she's someone I find very, very difficult to like.
RIP dear Glenda - and thank you for your power and genius.

Perfect acceptance speech by Ms. Jackson. Always clear eyed and honest. Refreshing,

Glenda doesn't kiss anyone she doesn't want to! A truly great actress.

She also lives in the UK, not California
@@JamesHarris-hl2bm I'd so love to know exactly what she said about plastic surgery! I'm sure I would agree. :)
She accepted her Oscars, she just didn't turn up for the awards ceremonies when she won them.
