The Elvis Hologram Project

This is a test video created using deepfake technology. The end goal of the project was to create an Elvis Presley hologram for the 2024 Scottish Elvis Festival where Elvis would be brought back to life to perform alongside a live band. Due to a hardware failure of the hologram projector, the project was abandoned as repairs would not be possible in time for the festival.
This project involved recording 2010 World Champion Elvis Presley Tribute Artist Johnny Lee Memphis lip syncing to an Elvis track, removing the background and mapping Elvis Presleys face onto Johnny's.
This video was intended to be shown on a hologram projector where all "black areas" would become transparent which would create the effect of Elvis popping off the screen as a hologram.
Unlike the Peppers Ghost method, using a fan-type projector meant that Elvis would be unable to move on the stage and would be stuck in the one position and part of his feet would be cut off as the fan blades don't align with the floor.
