This debate isn't even a debate. It's a rigged anti-Trump event. Trump made some good points and Harris made some bad points yet the moderators only focused on Trump's bad points.
This was clearly an attempt to defame Trump and it backfired for ABC and the Democrats as Trump is still strong.

Plus it’s a stupid question to ask, because no woman is choosing to get an abortion at 9 months. They HAVE to because the pregnancy has become dangerous. Even in the most liberal states like California, abortion is only legal up to 6 months of pregnancy unless carrying to term would endanger the mother’s life.

The moderators really should point out that literally everything Trump said on the issue of abortion was factually false and blatant lies.
Moderators should be independent.
These are politicians - everything they say is a lie and the truth depending on perspective.
You should independently do your own research and think critically.
Assume that neither politician has a game plan of going on national television to tell lies.
T wants the abortion rights to be determined at the state level by their citizens. He is also concerned about a recent bill introduced by Dems that would protect late-stage abortion (and maybe post-birth abortion).
H fears that T will restrict access across the country and every state. She seems to suggest that late-stage abortion is not worth discussing and that people would not do so unless the mother had serious health considerations.
This is my understanding….
So, the fix may be (1) to get engaged at the state level to promote your position and
(2) tighten the proposed rules on late stage access to be restricted to health risks which pose an immediate and potentially fatal risk…
Or something like that. That’s essentially the position that both parties articulated- although it was kinda difficult to interpret H’s response, but I think that’s it.

We did, the people voted for abortion to be legal in most states where it came up, regardless of political lean.
Politicians then decided to decide against the will of the people.
People are literally dying and there's been a verified increase in birth defects and pregnancy complications in states that restrict access. This stuff might not be important to you or I, but it's lifechanging for people who want/are forced to bear children.

There's clear evidence that a fetus - a developing baby in the womb - can't feel physical pain until after the 24th week (6th month) of pregnancy. Get your facts straight or shut-up.

Only After 24 weeks (around the 6 month mark) is because the thalamus (the part of the brain that receives pain) doesn't connect to the parietal lobe (the part of the brain that perceives pain) until after this time. The fetus is also sedated by a chemical in the amniotic fluid called adenosine.
The fetus in the early months is not sentient nor can it feel anything.

The problem is Texas AG who is going after women who leave his state to get care and trying to force other states to do his will and Project 2025. Why is the 2nd amendment granted to everyone in the country, but women are denied the 4th amendment, with their rights to privacy.

See, THIS is why I feel like I HAVE to vote for Harris. Trump continues to miss the entire point to the argument about Roe v. Wade: the right to privacy is NOT enshrined in the US Constitution. If the Democrats wanted to make it a law then they have every right to do so, but the Supreme Court should NEVER have the ability to legislate like they did in Roe v. Wade and like they've done basically ever since (especially recently). But instead of making that the issue he goes off on these tangents about "executing babies" and all this BS. I can't tell you how much I think we need a Republican President right now (I'm unaffiliated but voting for a Republican House candidate) but Trump has no interest in advancing conservative or even moderate Republican policies. Surprisingly heard more policy from Kamala Harris in this debate than we did from Trump, who has had almost a decade to formulate an agenda beyond just winning elections. And let's not forget, somehow with all the trillion-dollar omnibus bills the Dems have passed since 2021, the federal deficit STILL rose more under Trump than it did under Biden.

Why do people not understand that it is NOT the mothers body. The baby is a separate entity they aren't protecting womens health decisions, they are approving the murder of a child.
Why is it murder if a criminal kills a pregnant woman. The criminal is charged with 2 counts of murder. Yet if the mother kills the baby it is not murder. What is the difference? The baby is dead in both cases.
Good point. The fetus is completely separate. Therefore, the woman should be able to not provide nutrients to it. Not her body, and not actively harming it.

Pregnancy is a women's health topic. Are you okay with forcing a woman who was raped, incest, or would likely die due to pregnancy to go through with it? Doesn't sound very pro-life
In the case of a third party murdering a pregnant mother who is intentionally carrying the pregnancy to term, said third party has robbed the life of both a living woman and a potential child, thus incurring two murder charges. In the case of rape, incest, miscarriage, and any other number of issues that may arise in a potential mothers/ victims OWN PERSONAL LIFE, an abortion may be decided to be necessary. Regardless, in the case of a medical procedure that has saved lives, or ended a nightmare for a twelve year old victim, no one has the right to dictate that deeply personal decision. Not you, not any religious figure, not the government.
@@lorenzorosales284 Less than 5% of current abortions fall under those categories. Most abortions right now are "Oopsie, we made a mistake in the throes of passion." Abortion would be less of a hot topic issue if they weren't trying to treat it as just another contraception like condoms or the pill. But trying to tie it to those extreme cases are exactly why they are trying to drive it forward.
