    I'm a little bit not sure on what to do in my case because I have a 1TB HDD and installed a new 250GB SSD.
    I want to use my SSD for windows (boot) and my programs only, and still use my HDD for my local files.
    Does following this instructions will "JUST CLON WINDOWS" or it'll clone the files too?

    • @Ji-James
      @Ji-James  2 місяці тому +1

      This process clones the entire disk; the program cannot select only Windows or only files. If on a 1TB disk all files including Windows take up a little less than 250 GB, then you can clone a 1TB disk to a 250 GB SSD.
      But if 250GB or more is occupied on the disk, then cloning is impossible.
      In this case, you can install the new Windows 10 or 11 on the SSD:
      ua-cam.com/video/SB-u10x5lFg/v-deo.html
      then transfer important files from the 1TB disk to the SSD and after that format the 1TB disk and use it as file storage.

    should i have to turn off device encryption before cloning SSD (as i'm using windows 11, it turned on by default) and sign out my microsoft account from my computer before swapping to a cloned SSD? i really would like to upgrade my system disk as a few days ago i was given samsung 990 pro 2tb, i'm so exicited but i'm still nervous for data loss or something 😕 btw thanks for this helpful video ❤️

    • @Ji-James
      @Ji-James  5 місяців тому +1

      If Bitlocker is enabled on your computer, you can disable it before cloning.
      There is no need to sign out of your Microsoft account, since changing disks from one to another will not affect your Microsoft account or your license.
      If you value personal data on the system drive and would not like to lose it, then you can always make a backup copy of the disk image and place it on another drive or in cloud storage.
      There are several excellent programs for this function, I prefer to use the Acronis program and constantly store the image of the C drive in another location - in my opinion this is a very good habit😊
      Here is a video on how you can use Acronis for home use:

    • @Ji-James
      @Ji-James  5 місяців тому

      There can be several reasons for this problem and from a distance it is difficult for me to pinpoint your cause.
      Try the following:
      1. Return the boot priority settings in BIOS to their previous state.
      2. Immediately after restarting the computer, frequently press a certain key (it can be F12, F11, F9, Esс or some other key) to bring up the Boot Menu, in the Boot Menu list select the old disk, press Enter and boot the computer from the old disk .
      3. Open This PC and format the new drive, then run the cloning program and try the process again from the beginning.

    • @Ji-James
      @Ji-James  5 місяців тому

      @@PetrHerian Yes, this is a strange problem - Mini Tool could not affect Windows on the old disk in any way.
      And one more thing - before installing Windows on a new SSD, you should disconnect the old disk from the computer, or disconnect the SATA cable from it, so that Windows can be installed on the new SSD completely independently, and there will be no problems.
      If you have already installed Windows, I recommend disconnecting the old drive and installing Windows on the SSD again.

    • @Ji-James
      @Ji-James  4 місяці тому +1

      After cloning, you can use Windows on the old disk and you can also use Windows on the new disk.
      To select the disk from which you want to boot the computer, after turning on or restarting the computer, you must immediately call the Boot Menu, select the required disk in the menu and press Enter.
      If you continue to use the old and new drives, the files on those drives will not be deleted.

      If in the BIOS you set the new disk to first place in Boot Priority, then now after turning on the computer the new disk will boot.

      Yes, you can transfer the old disk to an external USB drive and so on, I recommend doing this using Mini Tool Pro for one computer, since I’m not sure that the old and free version of Mini Tool can do this:
      www.partitionwizard.com/buy.html
      The only thing is that your USB drive must have a capacity no less than the old disk.
      Of course, at the beginning you can try the old version of the program..

    • @Ji-James
      @Ji-James  3 місяці тому

      Hello, I don’t understand why you changed the partition scheme on the Windows disk?
      Before doing anything on the computer, you need to CAREFULLY listen and watch the recommendations from the video.
      After all, in my video it was said that if a Windows disk has an MBR partition scheme, then you need to convert the SECOND DSK to MBR. The disk cloning process must occur with the same partition scheme on both disks.
      This means that if the main disk is GPT, then the new one must also have the same partition scheme, that is, GPT.
      But you did the opposite, you converted the main disk, that is, the disk with Windows and most likely lost all the data on this disk..
      There are special programs with which you can change the MBR to GPT even if Windows does not boot, and if you have another computer or laptop, perhaps your relative or friend has a computer that you can use, then I can send you such a program (free) so that you burn this program onto a USB flash drive and return the GPT to your old disk.
      I'm not sure if this will restore the data on the disk, but you can try.
      If you have important files on your old drive that you don’t want to lose, then there is another opportunity to recover these files.

    • @MatthewLuna-se2rm
      @MatthewLuna-se2rm 3 місяці тому

      hey this is another account but the same person who responded. i appreciate your feedback and i shouldve listened a lot more clear. to be honest there isnt any important files just games, i was just worried because i dont know how to get out of the error code “0xc000000e” screen. can you send the program i would appreciate it, but if that doesnt work out, how can i factory reset my computer so i can download windows on my ssd from that error screen? and if i successfully factory reset it and make my ssd the main drive, can i just download the program from this video and change my hdd back to gpt?

    • @Ji-James
      @Ji-James  3 місяці тому

      @@MatthewLuna-se2rm If I understand you correctly,
      1. there are no important files on your computer
      2. You have the opportunity to create a USB flash drive on another computer to change the ICBM to the GPT.
      Then the best solution to the problem is to do the following:
      1. on another computer create a bootable USB flash drive for Windows 10 or 11, To maintain your license, pay attention to some recommendations in this video:
      ua-cam.com/video/SB-u10x5lFg/v-deo.html
      2. If your computer is not with UEFI but with BIOS, then it makes no difference what kind of disks you have, MBR or GPT, and therefore you can install a new Windows on a new SSD using a bootable USB flash drive, then format the hard drive and use it as file storage .
      3. But if you have a modern computer with UEFI, then you need to convert the SSD to GPT and to do this, first install Windows 10 or 11 on your hard drive using a bootable flash drive, then install the Mini Tool application and convert the SSD to GPT.
      4. After this, you can install the new Windows on the SSD and use it as the main disk, but before installation, be sure to do the following:
      disconnect the SATA cable from the hard drive so that there are no problems running the new Windows on the SSD.

      Try to remove this program and its installation file, clean the registry of program remnants, restart your PC, download the program from the website again and try to go through the whole process from the very beginning.

    Hello, I used a different tutorial from some other channel and I've accidentally messed up things. My ssd has 70gb unallocated space and the things I've copied has just filled up my ssd and it's not set as the main os drive too. How do i clear the ssd or reset it back to the way it was?? Please help

      Hi, if the cloning was successful, then you can do the following:
      1. Open the BIOS and in the Boot section put the new disk in Boot Priority first, then after turning on the computer will boot from the new disk.
      This video shows how to do this, most likely your BIOS looks different, but the principles of action will be the same:

      2. This video shows how to attach unallocated space to drive C:

      Of course, there is some risk here, but only if you do not carefully follow the instructions and make mistakes in the settings.

    the cloning process is quite slow.
    62% for 3 hours

      This continues unacceptably slowly - most likely the problem is in the Mini Tool settings.
      If your computer freezes, try interrupting the process and forcefully restarting your computer.
      After that, format a new disk and start the process from the beginning.

    It’s not free

      Please tell us in more detail at what stage you discovered that it was not free, and indicate the timestamp.
      For example 2:35
      The thing is, I just tried it and didn't find any problem.
      Is it possible that you did something wrong?
