For sure. Just hope we get a firm answer on how long so we know if at attin was old old republic or just the old republic before the rise of the empire.
@@StarWarsTimeShow well The Old Republic Era, also referred to as the Sith era, takes place from 25,053 BBY (the founding of the Republic), until 1000 BBY (the Seventh Battle of Ruusan and the end of the New Sith Wars).im guessing at ballpark the ship crashed on the planet toward the end of the old republic
@@patrickarseneault7407 Nah, definitely after the Jewels of the Old Republic fell, since he went to At Achrann to find the coordinates. Since the droid SM-33 knew about the secret pirate asteroid base, it couldn't be too long ago, or someone would have sold it out to the Republic pre-Empire times. Maybe 100 BBY.
Wim’s lightsaber scene is a parallel to Luke’s scene when he holds his saber but doesn’t cauterized his face/eye by turning his on. Rennod is Donner spelled backwards for the director of the Goonies.
I really enjoyed this episode. I truly believe that Jod's Force connection is familial...and that his Aunt Ninaa Nawood (rumored to be portrayed by actress Haley Webb) is the one who may have given him some instruction on his nascent Force abilities, during his early adolescence. I have a strong feeling that Jod may have witnessed the death of his Aunt (who must've known Qui-Gon Jinn), sometime between the end of The Clone Wars, during the early days of The Jedi Purge, or when The Inquisitorius was unleashed upon the galaxy. Yes, when I saw that lightsaber, I immediately clocked it as being a relic from The High Republic Era. I also strongly suspected that The Onyx Cinder and Captain Tak Rennod were from sometime within that 400-plus-years-long period in The SWU. The only problem is, as someone who has read much of The High Republic publishing media, I've yet to come upon mention of this particular galaxy-renowned pirate, while reading of The Nihil, along with watching, Young Jedi Adventures (which takes place during 232 BBY/Phase One of the books and comics of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative), where a selection of various pirate factions have been introduced. I'm also fascinated to know whose lightsaber that was. Had it been Jedi Master Stellan Gios', or (even better) Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm's, THAT would've been a heck of an easter egg; since it would've strongly hinted that Tak Rennod may have been a member of The Nihil, or he knew of the exploits, plunders, horrors, and carnage of Marchion Ro, The Eye Of The Nihil, and somehow got his hands on The Eye's cherished, stolen lightsaber. That reveal and backstory would almost be as significant a thing as the search for Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, which belonged originally to Anakin Skywalker, The Chosen One. I hope the story of Rennod's piracy doesn't become an interesting story that never gets depicted within various media, because of the compartmentalization of Lucasfilm Ltd.'s respective creative departments, and its infamous Story Group. BTW: Was I the only one who thought that the Hutt who was bathing in the mud, was one of The Twins, who attempted to kill Boba Fett, then gifted him a rancor, in, The Book Of Boba Fett? The tattoo on the chin, was what gave me that distinct impression. May The Force Be With You, Gentlemen.
I’m sure he only did that because the children and the droid kept doubting his command in danger. Also to be able to get the kids home and return for the treasure under “Jedi business” with the droid and the onix Cinder as a rare ship. To be the best pirate in history with rare proof
@@StarWarsTimeShow I hope he doesn't. I watched _Treasure Planet_ after this series debuted, and I don't want the kids letting Jod go (like that John Silver got away) after all the people he murdered and betrayed, just because the writers give him a redemption arc. The only question should be whether he gets imprisoned on At Attin (which may involve rehabilitation) or imprisoned on a New Republic world which would give satisfaction to his victims or their surviving relatives.
All my guesses: - At Attin is controlled by machines 100%. Note that the robots looks like survelliance cameras with legs. All other planets that served for the same purpose went into chaos because it was ruled by "people"... that became too greedy. That's why At Attin is controlled full machines. - Jod was a little padawan that doesn't believe in Jedi because he saw the #1 jedi kill them all. - That saber was from the old republic, late old republic - all is connected to the stories of the old republic vs the pirates - Somehow Gorian Shard will enter into the scene... because is from the same timeline Don't forget that Favreau and Filoni are building up the Stawars' Universe in the same way Favreau buit the MCU. All will be connected at a certain point, in a movie.
Someone suggested there were no droids on At Achrann, but even if not "presently" they were there in the past when it was hidden, because there's sign of the bus driver droid when the girl does her slide in the bus.
Prediction: Old Republic credits are a form of cryptocurrency and the “At Attin mint” is actually the organics on the planet who generate giant number hashes to back the currency. That’s why all the organic life on the planet is working in data analyst jobs. And it’s why they keep referring to Republic credits as DATAries.
"Credits" were originally set up as being electronic banking records and not physical currency here and in _Star Trek._ That would make sense why Republic Credits couldn't be made to work too far off the grid like on Tatooine, or they couldn't find a money-changer. But now that they're saying credits are physical, and probably worth a lot more than face value (like someone trying to buy things with $1 gold coins from the 19th century, thinking they are really $1 coins and not worth $100 or so) I think we have to stick to that concept for the rest of the series. There are probably vaults of the stuff on At Attin, enough to purchase entire planets or groups of planets.
@@sandal_thong There may be vaults of credit chips, but what are they backed by? In a galaxy like the Star Wars galaxy, rare metals like gold and platinum wouldn’t be so rare - droids could mine asteroids and uninhabited planets and generate a virtually unlimited supply. That’s why I think the currency has to be digitally-backed. The physical chip itself is worthless without something like a crypto hash backing it.
I hope he gets his just desserts: imprisonment for his crimes, including murder. He may decide not to murder the kids, but whatever he does for good, he shouldn't escape like Long John Silver in _Treasure Island_ or the kids let him escape like Jim did in _Treasure Planet._ It's possible to have a relative you care about do bad things and have to be imprisoned, and though he's not their relative, that's how this show should end. I'd like it if he gets 20-25 years and then is released, meeting adult versions of the kids in an epilogue around the time of _The Force Awakens,_ though probably revealing they've kept in contact with him over that time to help his rehabilitation. In Norway the max sentence is 21 years for non-military crimes, but the courts can add 5 years at the end if the prisoner isn't seen to be rehabilitated, and continuously after every 5 years.
Talking about the old credits and the mint, it might not even be minting money. The planet is closed off from the rest of the galaxy, this would mean the credits are just going round and round the people. This could lead to many of the natural resources not being used so the planet wouldn't be a dry mine but a full one as they didn't need what was inside.
Theory: The captain is a droid and lives as the new supervisor on At Attin. Keeping the entire planet under wraps and the mint going still, all the while destroying as much info on At Attin and other worlds related.
The creators compared it to goonies and amblin flicks of the 80s. Show is great but it can be compared to other classics without taking away from its’ own greatness. Glad you dig it.

Appreciate the watch! Cant wait to see where it all goes. Jude Law is fantastic.
