Mind you all, Machian Rho is descendent of the last leader of the path of the open hand, a group that hated the jedi, and was constantly making moves against them.
Its an interesting storyline. Star Wars combined with Star Trek Optimism. But also typical for the last few years of that franchise. The real good ideas are in the books, the TV and cinema goes down. I hope that they implement the High Republic into the Pen and Paper RPGs.
I feel like the Nihil just aren't good villains, they don't have any interesting motivations or plans, they are just raiders who for some reason want an empire but for no reason. They are just a sympton of boring writing.
I will admit they seem like B Tier villains, the Era really needs a more imposing threat. Personally would of found it interesting to see the High Republic jedi take on the Vong
>the Era really needs a more imposing threat. @@LoreTours i feel it would be great to, for once, see an opposite picture: no greatly imposing organization, no Sith in the shadows behind every evil thing - nothing to cut down with the lightsaber, but instead the very nature of the changing republic being source of the problem. Like, Jedi can fight off raiders or fallen Force sensitive individual, but what will you do with corporations, building only mining and low profitable facilities in the outer rim, while reserving high margin and good salaries for the worlds of the core? I know it would need way less lazy of a writing, but still that would be so much more sensible to how world ended up in a clone wars situation...
@@СтавридесКелевра I personally would love to watch a Star Wars, House of Cards style political thriller, dealing with the backroom backstabbing and seedy side of Galactic politics
On the other hand it makes sense that the Republic would encounter lawlessness on its borders as it expanded outward. A tribe of semi-organised bandits makes more sense than a monolithic evil empire.

Dagan Gera from Jedi Survivor made me super interested in this period of Star Wars. I wonder if he’ll ever be mentioned in these comics

I didn't know much about this era in lore. Supposing it's even less now, since EU is no longer recognised as
'canon."
As such, I am glad you posted it
We'll have to see how well The Acolyte does and if they expand on this era much. It's no EU but it has some interesting things It's working with
Never understood why didn’t the republic have there own military in case something like this happen.
