I found this looking for Paul Motian recordings. Very nice. I have two "Dreams" albums. Very interesting to hear Motian here. He's so subtle sometimes It's hard to hear him.

Why was Motian touring in Blackwell's place? This seems more to me like Jarrett's American Quartet with Cherry replacing Jarrett.

I've read that he was subbing for Blackwell on this date, although not sure why.

@@SelectCircle Yes. I saw this group play a benefit for Blackwell at a church in NYC in the late 80's. It was rumored Ornette would show up, but unfortunately that didn't happen
