That looks like fun, I was surprised you didn’t try the key in the other side of the lock.
Please let us know if both locks had the same bitting. The curiosity is strong. Lol.
You should of described how to figure out adjusting the tension on the tubular lock tool.
Hey Ash my friend! gret picking and great video ;o))
The hardest thing with these is the tensioning. I use to use the chinese L wrench you can found on the chinese tensioning tools pick set. Fits nicely and makes picking more confortable.
Thanks a lot for mention me. I´m very glad you had fun with them. Cheers! ;o)))
very cool Ash mate great video 👍👊🇬🇧😊😎
Nicely done Ash 🌴😎
I have 3 okder candy machines with that type of lock on top. I got 2 of them to open with the cheap tool I got. The one will not open. But, it is the same key as one of the other ones. So I guess I could have the locksmith make me a new key for the two that opened, and I should be able to open this one. I remember when I locked it, I turned it a little more, but it was over tightened. I hid the keys and forgot where I hid them. Even after moving from that house, I never found the keys.
That looks interesting ro watch 👍👍
Would a core turning tool negative that? Given that you had a end that fit. Maybe use a old tubular lock key made to fit
Did you try it on the other one to prove it’s the same lock on both sides??
Hi there, I know I'm little off topic but I watched several of your videos on beginner's kit and such and I did try to build my own with little to no knowledge. Obviously it gets a bit more expensive than a starting set, but I rather have long lasting tools than things that I won't use on the long run. Well if it's possible I would like to have your opinion, but no pressure ;)
I went for Sparrows tools:
- 3 SSDEV Hooks .25
- 3 SSDEV Hooks .15
- Level 2 Tension set
- 0.5 Heavy bars
- Offset hybrid
- Lunatic
What do you think ???
THANK YOU !!!
ps. any advice from others will be appreciated as well!
It looks like on the first lock was someone tried ( rather poorly) to cut the throw receptacle because of a lockout versus having a locksmith solve their problem. It would have been great to know the history of this particular lock.
What came flying out after the first successful pick? It looked like the pins where falling out too?
The only Spanish impressionist I know is Joaquín Sorolla.
Is there a way to tell which way these locks turn? I spent like 30 minutes picking one of these once to find out I needed to go the other way. Got it in a couple minutes...
Wht didn't you try the 1st lock with the 2nd ones impression?
Yeah um, I really should have though of that 😂
