I remember being SO relieved to know that I will NEVER be a goddess, knowing that I am not that great of a human being, and that the Mormon version of being a goddess does not sound like any fun at all. thank the one, and only REAL GOD, ALL that "doctrine" is a lie
I can't believe how strong these two young women are. I couldn't handle the things they went through. I have been impressed by so many people who have come out of these groups. The ones fortunate enough to make it out, that is.
I don't know any mormon's in my area that are polygamists nor do I see the book of mormon as something the Bible alludes to or I don't see polygamy as something the Bible condones. People did have polygamy over the centuries but it wasn't because it was commanded nor was it something that went over in a happy manner either. And I read in the Bible that God wants us to be happy and prosperous. This would be the opposite very quickly. I'd have run away too. Thank you for this show.
I have recently been on a bit of a binge on this channel. This is by far my favorite videos thus far. These women experienced inexcusable traumas and have survived with such amazing strength. And their self-awareness is astounding. They really are a testament to resiliency and inner strength, They remind me of the Megan Phelps-Roper and Grace Phelps. A second interview was mentioned. Did this happen? Can I add one more point? I really appreciate the videos, yet your proselytizing isn't. Can you leave your viewers spiritual journey to themselves and remained focus on how this religious order used mythology and mind control to inflict atrocious acts. Thank you for documenting and bearing witness to such difficult yet inspiring stories.
The LORD bless you and keep you. Glad to hear you are finding that this program is helpful to you. That kind of feedback shows why the dear people producing it are doing so, and it is a great encouragement to them to hear from those who are helped by their efforts.
this is one of the first interviews I've heard someone talk about black blood. I had always wondered and it's interesting that they threaten them with black blood.
Mormons believe that if you have dark skin it is a curse from God. That is your curse for being bad people. They thought that way about native Americans as well because they had darker skin. Now they've had messages I guess from their profit saying that they've changed their position on that but originally they didn't like people with dark skin. This is why I can't understand why any non-white person would ever consider being a Mormon
Let’s face it: the state’s not interested in “preserving the family.” It’s interested in not having to take on the financial burden of raising other people’s kids.
Thats true. These two girls are cousins (their fathers are brothers, John Daniel and Paul Kingston). The original Davis County Co-Op was founded largely by four families, and they have intermarried- most of the members of the clan today can trace their ancestry to AT LEAST one of these original four families.
They are. Jessica's father is John Daniel Kingston, Nicole's father is Paul Kingston. I have heard that most people in the clan can trace their lineage back to (at least) one Kingston, even if that's not their surname.
These girls are cousins and it sounds like Nicole is Pauls daughter. Whoml is Jessica's fathers brother. Paul is the leader of the order. The man that Jessica speaks of that she was told she was married too in heaven..... was her uncle, who was grooming her.
Not anymore. But it's still a celestial law for all. Temple marriages allow men to be sealed to multiple women at a time (although by state laws they'd be separated through divorce or death), but a woman is only allowed one man to be sealed to. And it's still in the D&C, and still a doctrinal promise for the celestial kingdom.
This is about the most heart-wrenching story ABOUT "Christianity". Religions shouldn't do hit peices on other religions. A horrible reflection on this lady.
vrtrahan It isn't a 'hit piece'- the goal is to illuminate the abuses within these groups that are still happening to this day and vehemently denied by those in power. The women & men who leave and speak out about what goes on are incredibly brave. They are trying to change the way the state deals with these cases by shedding light on the HORRIFIC ABUSES.
My poly family and I, have always worked really hard, never been on WIC or Welfare. Since we were not part of a religious order ( our poly family has always been based of love, honor, and mutual respect ) we chose not to have any more children then who we could provide for. Living a poly lifestyle is not for everyone, and unlike a popular misconception it's not about group sex, I have 2 wives (it's interesting, I could call them my mistresses and nobody would care, but because I honor and respect them calling them my wives, some ppl go insane) and two separate relationships.
You start the video with; "She was born into polygamy. Her family followed Joseph Smith". What if she was born into a Christian polygamy family that only followed God's Word, the Bible? Polygamy has been around for thousands of years. Joseph Smith didn't invent it! There are over 30 examples of polygamy in the Bible. That's where Joseph Smith got the idea in the first place. But, he had to spoil it by writing the "Book of Mormon" and all the other fairy tales. Christian polygamy is a viable righteous lifestyle IF you follow God's Word. Mormonism and Mormon polygamy is the central problem. The practice of polygamy founded on a contrived religion will certainly either fail completely or cause lots of misery while trying to comply with man-made rules (Book of Mormon) instead of God's rules as stated in the Bible. Trying to get rid of polygamy will always fail because it's biblical. Rejecting Mormonism would be a good start to fixing all the problems in the FLDS!
Polygamy is NEVER promoted or commanded in the Bible. You can delude yourself all you like .in order to justify your lust, but your can't make it God's Will.
@@agirlwholovesjesus "NEVER promoted or commanded" but definitely allowed by God. I am a 78 year old Southern Baptist with one wife and believe me, lust is not what motivates me. God's Word, the Bible does. Academically I am pro-polygamy but it's not something I would chose for myself.
@stickney43 - You are wrong! You're telling me what you want the Bible to say, and mean. Monogamy was very strong in the Roman culture, and when the Roman Empire became the Catholic Empire, the cultural pressure to support monogamy didn't go away. In 1611 King James grew up in a monogamous world. When he commissioned the King James translation to be produced, his scholars used the words "one wife" instead of just "married". It even says "one husband" - how stupid is that? The word "married" is mostly ignored in order to slant the biblical meaning to monogamy. There are other mistakes in the King James version like: All Bible translations since the 1611 King James version say "Thou shalt not murder" instead of "Thou shalt not kill". There are no exceptions, only the KJV says "kill". God ordered His people to kill thousands of people in war. This makes sense because they didn't violate the commandment "Thou shalt not murder"! People who claim to be fundamentalists always prefer the KJV and put down all other translations simply because they were taught as children that the KJV is the only holy Word of God. Translations that are more accurate than the KJV because they don't condemn polygamy and the ban against murder instead of killing. Read the whole Bible, cover to cover, instead of bits and pieces that others show you. Every generation of Christians misinterpret what the bible means and also get it right. The reality of the Trinity of God was taught beginning in the late 1800s. Christians, and everybody else, believed in a "flat earth" when the Bible mentions "the circle of the Earth". The worst thing against polygamy these days is the horrible example of the FLDS (Mormon offshoot) which is based on the Book of Mormon, not the Bible. I live 5 miles from Colorado City, AZ, which is one of the last FLDS strongholds. The Govt. has them pretty much under control these days. Their "Temple" is being turned into a community center. Are you sure you are biblically correct in your attitude towards polygamy? Like Isaac in the Bible, I'm happily married to one wife but I still believe in the authenticity of biblical Polygamy! That's what my Bible tells me!
@stickney43 - Adultery is defined as a man having a sexual relationship with a woman not his wife. If the man is married to two women, he is not committing adultery. God told King David when he committed adultery that: "If you had wanted more wives I (God) would have given them to you." Remember that King David had about six wives at that time. He committed adultery against all of his wives, not just the first one he married. You really don't understand the Bible. Read the Bible and think for yourself!
