Luther was the BIGGEST fan of Whitney's cousin Dionne Warwick and he was also very close to Whitney's mother Cissy Houston who sang background vocals on Luther's albums for years, and she even sang on his last album. They were all near and dear to one another!

Oh my gosh. He's got one of those voices that you instantly fall in love with. He's one of my favorite singers. His music was his gift to the world, and I'm so glad he came along in my lifetime. Imagine what a chorus of singer's we're going to eternally get to listen to in heaven! It would add a lot of beauty to the mausoleum area if the cemetery would add flowers to the center section. Maybe they do that later in the warmer weather. I absolutely love this video Scott!! Thank you and happy Easter!! 🐇
I feel so grateful that I did get to see Luther in concert back in the ‘80’s. He was so fantastic! It was in Atlanta, Ga. Anita Baker was his opening act. She was also fantastic! 🥰❤Love you so much, Luther❤️
Thank you @Scott On Tape for your time spent visiting this R&B legend with us. Luther Vandross certainly had an amazing voice! I love hearing him sing. He is missed by his many fans. His memorial seems in stark contrast to his career and fame, but perhaps he wished for simplicity and the relative anonymity that might come along with that for his final resting place. Rest In Peace Mr. Luther Vandross. 🕊️ Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
Everything about LVD was extraordinary 😇🎶☀️!! **I often wonder did that 2003 stroke leave Mr Vandross blind or disfigured around the eyes for he wore shades inside the rehab facility.
I had cassette tapes, and I have CDs from Luther. Every week I listen to music on UA-cam and I still love and appreciate his music. He sung songs other people sung but the songs sounded so much better when he sung them. RIP
I guess that’s why they say death is the great equalizer. No matter how rich or famous, we will all end up the same in the end. I’ve always loved Luther’s music. One of the best of all time.
Luther made every day beautiful with his voice. I was absolutely in love with him from a teen. The man needed no auto tune. He was BLESSED with that voice. Luther , you are so very missed. I hope you are singing in heaven.
Quick Fact: Luther was originally buried in the ground. When his mother died, Luther’s remains were moved from his grave and interred in the mausoleum. Both Luther’s father and mother were interred in his old grave to allow his parents to be buried together. I think his father was buried in Philly many years ago when he passed away. Also you may notice the name Marvin Isley two spots above Luther. That is a member of the Isley Brothers.
Let's celebrate his life while he lived, and also appreciate all the memorable songs he left the world. Every time I hear his voice he comes alive spiritually. His voice lives on!
I loved his voice both when he sang and talked. Thanks for sharing this with all of us. As always you do a superb job with your work. ❤ rest in paradise sweetheart 💔🌹

This incredible man has been like a family member throughout my life. My parents were both massive fans and his music was played constantly in our home. Talk about the soundtrack of your life. Singing along to never too much years ago when it was released . Also played at the most happy and the most sad times. Saw him many many times live at Wembley and my best memory being at the Royal Albert hall for the live recording of his songs album . He duetted with Maria about ten foot away from where I was sitting. The Royal Philamonic orchestra playing with Luther’s incredible band and backing singers. I will never forget it it was magical
This made me shed a tear. One of the best vocalist of all time! No one touched this man vocally, I grew up on his music thanks to my father. To be 24 and not go a day without hearing at least one song from him speaks volumes. Miss you and love you Luther 💕. Good video, Scott 🗣️🖤

It's cool that Luther Vandross is resting below Marvin Isley who played bass and was a member of the Isley Brothers
Whitney Houston often spoke of his brilliance as a vocalist-now that's the greatest compliment coming from her
She too has a very plain grave along with Bobby Kristina. I guess I expect these singing stars to have lavish crypts to suit their lifestyle .
