  • Managed to head out for a few hours of digging. Had a great day and managed to find some nice gold.

Hey Ian I like the idea of the black hose feeding the header box a little more flex than going straight in with the lay flat. What type is it suction hose high pressure or spa hose ?As i'm building a sluice ATM and find your set up helpful cheers Mick.

G'day Mick, that stuff was just called ribbed pipe or flexi pipe but I would recommend spa hose as the stuff we used blows holes too often though we just kept shortening it. We will be going for spa hose next.

G'day Ian...I hope the spa hose can take the pressure and not blow out or collapse or something ?like the flei hose, I saw some suction hose online for I think 5 or 6 bucks a meter ok if you only want 5 meters or small amount at least I know it will hold but less flex more weight to carry lol... thanks Mick

Michael Franic Suction hose is generally too rigid to use, it has a bit of flex but could end up being a pain. The spa hose i have seen used seemed to work well and had not blown any holes, but i have not looked into it here as to price. The flexi hose we use will work, but just expect for it to blow a leak every now and again. Just means shuting down and shortening or replacing the hose. Though i complain about the blowouts about 2 meters has lasted 2 years.

Cheers for the info thanks mate. The lay flat is not cheap either but I managed to get onto some for $49 for 25mts or $160 for 100mts now for the cam locks never ends lol.
