  • A quick trip out to Tuena for a quick dig. Managed to get a gram for our effort so we were quiet pleased.

great vid guys....good to see you got into some of that flood gold. Need to run that Razorback at a much shallower angle with that amount of water.....that flood gold can be a bit "floaty" like the stuff at the ford. Keep the vids coming....regards Wal.

Yeah! Great video. Tuena is a fantastic spot, good chance of finding something worthwhile. A few years ago, my mate found a 5 gram bit. I was out there along time ago but the creek was dry as a bone. We had to go to the Abercrombie with our wash. My son watched your video and got inspired and went out there this weekend for a recon mission. I set up my box on 25 mm every 300 mm. I stuck a small spirit level on the side of it so I can see the level I am working on. Happy digging :)

Thanks for the advice. Mark had set the highbanker up this time and was trying for a bit more velocity. But you are right the razorback needed some adjustment.
Iam thinking of knocking up something to smooth the flow out before dropping onto the second sluice. Will see what i can come up with.

Yes we stayed the night. About a 3hr drive for us so we really need at least 1 night out there to get anything done.

Please advise me on rules running highbanker in NSW. I under the impression it's not allowed.

Hi good video mate, can you use pumps and sluices in Tuena to mate, or do you need permits to pan etc there

G'day Ian thanks for posting all your vid's it keeps me motivated and iching to get back out there...what volume of water is your pump producing thru the sluice there...how many litres per hour ? Cheers mate.

In all honesty it has been a while since i have looked or thought about pump specs and litres per hour, With the goldhog mats i think we needed about 3000gph from memory and uses a bit more flow than most highbankers the same size.

Cheers mate, the reason I ask is because I'm just about to buy a 2.5hp motor and pump that puts out 12000 litres hr which divided by 3.75 lites to the gallon would mean its a 3200gph pump unless my maths are wrong...so I was just comparing it to yours so I should have enough water to work it and clear the riffles, Cheers mate...Mick
