TOMMY V Your the BEST , A true louisiana fishing legend So nice of you to take the time to teach your secret technique . I loved fishing the Freeport Sulphur Rigs, It was two large rigs with a large walkway connecting the two I loved that place . Again thank you for all the information.
Tommy, it's been several years but we used to snapper fish from Fouchon in the early 2000's. We fished from 21' Skeeter bay boat back then and had to pick our days. We could usually find some live pogies back in the dead end canals before we headed outta Belle Pass. Had some really good trips fishing toward the West Delta blocks. Is the LOOP still a No Man's Land area to avoid? We got ran out of the LOOP a couple time for inadvertently crossing the imaginary line. I wish I had taken better notes on our "good rigs" as we caught Genuines and Mangroves and the occasional lemon. If I recall water was about 50-60'.
My wife and I are going to Bay St. Louis and fish the reefs just as soon as it cools up some. Medical reason keep me from trying the heat at present time.
Enjoy the videos!! If you had one week to fish Grand Isle for easy fishing, when would it be? Trying to plan a trip down there, most of the people going have never fished before. I fish the east side, out of Campos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Question: Are you required to use circle hooks to land "Reef Fish" in LA state waters? Or does that only apply to "offshore waters" in LA? Thanks for the video; lot's of great info!
In spring and fall they plentiful. In July. More mangroves and bulk reds but yes still some Red snapper. Lots of trash fish in summer. Sharks ladies and jacks
