- Hikvision NVR Browser Video Playback and Download videos. How to download recorded videos using a web browser. Firefox and Internet Explorer web browsers are supported. Google Chrome is not supported.

What you need to know is this. The files are stored here by default in windows 10. Cut and Paste into File Explorer change the user to you user name.. ie in this example cut and paste but replace bob with your username, Notice bob is in two places.
C:\Users\bob\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Virtualized\C\Users\bob\Web
Note you can avoid this by changing permissions in IE and before you record anything go to "local" and browse to set your own folders. Then do a test to make sure IE will allow you to save in the new location you set. 90% of my clients have this problem.
When you google.. yes google not Bing.. the solution to change permissions in IE make sure you find a lesson on how to change the setting on just the web portal page. If you are a regular IE user some lessons well instruct you to set your general security to efffectivly none. Don't do that. :) or just use IE for this one web portal by hik vision and Chrome for all your other web stuffs. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks, finally a solution that works. Hope there will be an alternative function sometime, that will work in chrome. A simple pop up save as window would be nice and easy.

How do you digitally zoom and save something? I can only download but cannot zoom in on playback like I can from the NVR
Hi - my playback doesn't have the yellow 'event' option when I am looking at my cameras on the browser (Chrome). Works when I connect a monitor directly to my NVR and do playback. Is there a solution to this to include 'events' for the browser?

Hi , do you know how to get playback to work on Hikvision Door station?
When I access the Hikvision local IP Address, the browser always downloads the video component file. Does Hikvision only works in IE browser?
First way of geting the video is work for me , but the second way do not! Problem is next : When I want to download(after I click arrow down) and open Download -- Webpage Dialog ,select random video on the list and click download button,in progress row is showing : Downloading failed. Please tell me what to do?
Turning off the Protected Mode in IE settings does the trick if the Download function does not work for you.

How do you play the sound? It doesn’t play in VLC player. It only plays in the other player
After I saved my FILE to a USB card and I plug it Into computer nothing works for windows or mac. Do I need to downlaod VLC to view the footage that I saved ?
Yes I use VLC. Hikvision has a player on their support downloads page.

We use Internet Explorer. Requires installing an ActiveX plugin.
What model NVR are you using?

None of these work for me? It doesn't even create the folder. Is there a hidden setting that needs to be set that allows remote downloading for users?
These are old videos and a lot has changed. It would be best to send Hikvision a support request.
Thanks for posting this @superior eagle sadly it doesn't seem that much of what hik-vison makes "just works". IE ? Really?! 80% of the internet uses chrome. Wake up Hik. Which is good I guess cause otherwise I wouldn't have a job installing their systems. lol
Chrome doesnt use cookies therefore wont take the web plugin needed. you dont seem like a very knowledgable IT person WITH A JOB INSTALLING THEIR SYSTEMS. Think before you speak
all is fine but how to copy download file path. Please explain properly. we are stuck up on this point. Please mention proper method or path in reply. waiting for your quick reply
try point on the to a pen drive file path. It work for me saving all to a pen drive.
THE "web component" part has been installed several times but it still asks me to install it and i cannot view via webpage
Try using edge browser amd cthen click the internet explorer icon in the browser...top right
youre using a web browser probably internet explorer. You totally left out important details. Probably internet explorer because its a browser that uses cookies and wont work with Edge or Chrome. Youre downloading clips using a browser, totally left out how to enable on the browser where on the computer it downloads to. Very important steps that wont work if not done.

To find the video path, look in the NVR configuration settings..click configuration. It shows the path
How to download all item,not per page 1 by 1. Have 2000 item per mounth and download 1 by 1 page, just show 100 item per page have 20 page . Very very slow man

If your Camera has audio, then you need to enable not only on the camera. But within the NVR itself. The only way is use mouse and log directly into the NVR. Nit web browser the option is not there
download by date not working being years byt still they didnt fixed it ahah(error 400 xml bad content) .Only download by file name works .
