I purchased these speakers, as well as the Edifier R1700BT for $180 and the Harman/Kardon Soundsticks III for $200. After thoroughly testing all 3 speakers, and considering each of their price points, these speakers were clearly great for the money, with clear, punchy bass, incredible highs, and balanced, clear mids.
I bought these earlier this week, i plan to use them as back speakers and front presence speakers but i hooked them up in stereo left and right to test them out and wow, these are really nice for the price.
I have enjoyed good music in my 70 years on earth. I started like many others, when I was a young teenager with the Stones, Beatles and The Who. My mind was treated to new audio sensations when I started listening to Pink Floyd and the Moody Blues and the like. I have NEVER stopped enjoying music. I appreciate many styles of music from Classical, New Age, Piano Solos to Classic Rock, Hard Rock and screaming guitar solos and heart trobbing drum beats (AC/DC) You can't begin to enjoy the nuances of these songs without the proper equipment.
I´m 65, Gordon Harper, and the Music of our younger years is the best, name it Classical, Rock, R & B, Disco and so on...Still listening to these Jewels. Respect and Blessings, cheers!
I’ve been wanting to get a new set of speakers for my old sony vinyl turntable instead of having to hook it up to a stereo system with bare wire plug ins for my old speakers… needless to say this upgrade is great! i will say though…
I originally bought some Alesis M1 speakers because I had a set of their higher end monitors and was very pleased with them. I was looking for nearfield monitors that were less on the thud side and more on the midrange side of town, since I'm using them for production. I wrote a review about the Alesis. Alesis are a great company, but those speakers were absolutely dreadful. I spent $91 on those used. Unlistenable.
hey Andrew, would you still consider these the best powered speakers under $500? I would love a do-it-all type of speaker like these for under $1000/500
There's never anything for Europe grrrr... Anyway the bass port on the rear is what screw them up for me cause I need to put them against the wall or else I'd even pay the import fee for them from US to EU...🙁
You really shouldn't give reviews or advice on things you clearly know nothing about, so anyone who wants a real review, read on. These cannot be hooked up to a TV or PC without an external power amplifier. You clearly have no idea what speaker sensitivity is or why that spec might matter to people. These have relatively high sensitivity so they do not require a very powerful amp to sound their best. You also pronounced impedance as a completely different word because you have no idea what it is, or really anything about speakers in general. 8 ohms resistance is pretty standard these will work with basically any amplifier you will find on the market. You are clearly here just to hawk wares and nothing else. I own these. I picked them up at a thrift store for $4.99. I have owned countless dozens of pairs of speakers over the years. These things sound "okay". They're not complete trash. But for just a few more bucks you can get the actual Klipsch bookshelf speakers with these are a Chinese knockoff of which sound much better. My advice though? Buy used. Hit up your local craigslist or fb marketplace. You can easily find speakers originally costing multiple hundreds of dollars for less than you will pay for these. But if you're not comfortable with that there are many many pairs of speakers that sound much much better than this in this price range. Do some actual research instead of just listening to a guy who's telling you something is great because he is being paid to do so.

Better than the Edifier 1700? Or for the money difference?

That is much more stylish and higher quality than I expected. I'll probably buy it next week!
I love your videos Adam. You and Amy do a great job with lighting and making sure we get to see all the details of the products.
Thanks for the review, I will buy them next month. This set of speakers look just great for the price, I already checked on Amazon and fell in love!

Clicked like. Thanks for the new video. I caught you on Amazon Live with your Tuesday show too.

Well this is the coolest thing I have ever seen. What will they think of next? Saw your live broadcast too!
On the manual it says 4 ohms but on the back of the speaker (sticker) it is 4-8ohms. Which one is true? It is very confusing.
When two devices are connected, how does it choose which to play since there is no input switch??
Is it the same price to ship to Alaska? I am going to get mine sent to Alaska and I don't want to pay a service fee or anything.
How is the bass with these speakers? Most of my music wouldn't require much, but I do like the occasional gangster rap album.

Will they work well as TV/home theater speakers?
Does the front plate come off?
