I feel like a "thank you" is in order, because I found your channel today, and already learned countless game-changing things from your 2024 guide and watching you on this replaythrough. Thank you dude! I only started playing recently and it's already devouring my time, because I'm starting to grow really fond of games that are a game without any of the modern bullsh*t. Also, I got that Demolition Man reference. :p With live-service games, those that want them, arent at fault, they've just not seen enough of their favourite games go live service, became crap and watched greed taint their favourite developers.
You're content has given me so much joy Rurikhan. Watching you play Monster Hunter has not only taught me so much but it's given me a lot of peace. I play your videos as a background sound while I play games now lol. Thank you for all the work you put in to give us content. Really appreciate it.
Sadly missed this one, but I was around for the first stream and I have to say, it's ultra chill, playing World again and watching you play World again. The game *really* lends itself to leisure and I didn't realize how much I missed that. Liuve's been a rollercoaster this year, so it's just what I needed. Thanks Ruri!
Just got into the game for the first time.. just killed killed the anjanath and have been using the longsword, this really made me want to try out the charge sword lol loving following along with your playthrough
Thank you for diving back into this game. I thoroughly enjoyed Rise but I forgot how much I loved my first foray into Monster Hunter and watching the streamer who taught me how great this game truly is. Work and family relegate me to the level of filthy casual but I’ll always strive to one day count myself among the Iron Breakers
I just recently restarted mhw and I'm still in hr trying to clear all side quests (minus ff and witcher). Before moving to Mr. I gave myself one restriction.... No gunlance.... So I've been learning a few other weapons. I've cleared up to hr50+ with no gunlance!
Brother and I decided to start fresh like most did recently. Jumped off the deep end and tried a new weapon with the charge blade. Has been fun but man do you make it look so much better lol. Switched it up some more and been loving the great sword. Now changing it up again to try the gunlance and again, wow you make it look easy. Looking forward to learning it more
It's the first thing I learned when I went from old monster hunter to new. It's not a matter of shame or pride, just how annoying you want hunting to be
That’s why I loved ffxi because you had to group up for even just killing monsters outside of the starting area back in the day it was a good time and you got to know people and had to actually learn your class
Jules: [Jules shoots the man on the couch] I'm sorry, did I break your concentration? I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue, you were saying something about best intentions.
About the lance Ruri. Im with u that the world lance is way better. But Im gonna dispute that the lance is simple, yes the poke 3x counter poke 3x. But to master the movment and perfect blocks is not as simple. So the lance may look simplistic, but is hard to master imo😅😊 im a lance main and charge blade second.
Regarding the discussion about games as a service: I hope they do not try that with Monster Hunter. They have a very good thing going at present. I do not have time for Live Service games - give me an end game - then give me the end of the game. Then give me an expansion a couple years later and I'll buy that too. Then make a sequel. I'll buy that too unless you botch it by making it a live service and flushing your IP into the sewer. IMHO of course.
I wouldn't want MH to be a live service, but something like if you're with the online feature enabled (similar to how you can turn online on or off on souls games) and if you go to the lobby city, you can see other players around, doing their thing, but when you go hunts you're by yourself or with your party, similar to how Path of Exile handles the cities where you can see other players, so it's more like of taking a feature from a live service game instead of turning the game into a live service.
Not sure if I would agree on the qurious crafting part. Like for me its completely linked to anomaly hunts and for me this is the perfect endgame. The game gives me reasons to hunt all kinds of monsters and not only endgame elder dragons and rewards me for it and we can get stupidely strong in an already arcady and skillbloated game so I think it was completely fine. Then again I dont want to see it like this return in Wilds. I hope Wilds still gives me a reason to farm midgame monsters like anomaly quests but I if it's tied to something like qurious crafting again it should totally be less powerful and less rng. But I really dont care for min-maxing in MonHun so I also dont really mind the rng for perfect builds (except for rng decos, never want them to return).
EXACTLY, great game but it had its own flaws. it was a subscription based LSG so its not quite the same as the modern LSGs we known today. the crazy thing is the primary reason it died was because they straight up couldn't add anymore content to the game without breaking it. There was also MH online too. LSGs will always die eventually, they're designed to run forever but that's not practical and impossible, because one day they wont be able to add more content, one day the player base will drop, one day it will no longer be profitable. games that are designed to end and profit off the sales will always be more practical as people who want to continue playing that game most likely will still be able to go back and play it, and it always leaves the future open to something entirely new, which is more likely to bring in even larger audiences and something new entirely., rather than grow stale and continue adding more and more stale content until it dies.
@@grapesoda7075 I agree. I truly hope MH doesn't go that route. I still go back and play all of the older titles that I own. The main issue I have with Overwatch 2 was that it overrode my Overwatch 1, which I still liked as it was. Destiny 2, you can no longer play as it was... going back to that game after so many years, they make starting from scratch with friends nearly impossible. I bought the original game and a few expansions, and to go back and play those, you have to follow a convoluted guide online.
I love all the people talking about how much people want an MMO monster hunter game. because THERE WAS ONE. have people just Forgotten about MH Frontier? it ended in 2019 because it reached its limits they couldn't do anything else, AND THE FANS HAVE REVIVED IT, YOU CAN GO BACK AND PLAY IT NOW. AND there was MH Online ANOTHER MMO that died in 2019. we have seen how MMO Monster hunter games go and while they do have a dedicated fan base they don't tend to do well, maybe with the larger Fanbase they could do better but its not something id expect capcom to do with their previous experiences, oh and neither game was fully developed by capcom. the problem with monster hunter live services is that in order to keep one alive for a long time there has to be a constant in flow of new quality content, new completely original monsters, new weapons FRONTIER HAD THE TONFAS AND MAGNET SPIKE, new mechanics, etc. but once again there's only so much they can do. a modern mmo monster hunter game would be cool and would likely do better than the previous 2 but it shouldn't be a main series monster hunter game, frontier ran alongside the main line games for 9 years before it reached its limits, and it had its player base along side the main player base.
Oh man don't get me started mh Frontier fanbase issue, it was huge. They were the most saltiness and greediest people ever. If u wanna know I can tell u if u want. It was very big issue in jp
Capcom: lets buff the sweep move with lance Ruri: It's not precise anymore Sorry Huh? Lance is not thaat different in rise, nowhere near the level of HH. I feel like if peeps spent more time with the weapon in SB they would've seen the precise playstyle is rewarded as well. It's a super "Change bad" take ruri, just say you don't like it dont say it's not what lance is about anymore.
A live service can be f2p or paid for like Destiny before it became f2p. It just means a game designed to drip feed content with updates, seasons, and expansions for the foreseeable future
bungie still has the most successful live service out of most long running live service games, they know what to do and what not to do! so if they give you advice on what to do for your live service game you better take it.
Respectfully, every single thing you said in this comment is wrong. World of Warcraft alone is far more popular, and there are plenty of live services that crush WoW. So D2 is big, but it is FAR from the most successful. Also they are legendarily terrible at managing their game and often engage and brutal anti consumer practices, which would therefore also lead to the conclusion their advice is not as important as you point out.
Imo after playing both games base rise compared to base world sucks. Atleast for xbox, my main issues are. I feel like world had better and more story. Weapons though lacking individuality are better on world. This i belive is due to learning curb weight and commitment to swings and hits. Also less light effects and weapon trails. Essentially in world it just feels more realistic than anime weebish. Next I like unlocking sections of the map an different biomes than in rise you easily burn out in ruins. Also the whole dongo replacing the canteen what a Cat-astrophe lol gotta have them gains. End of the games world just feels more complete also with more rpg elements.
Ok hear me out here... Someone gets home from their job, working 10 hours today, they LOVE this game but ALL they have time for is about 2 hours... Now they love to fight the mobs, but they simply CANNOT farm for 8-10 hours a day to get the shit they need to really be good... I guess they should just NOT play the game? Ok... Thanks for that argument.
Also, before you get mad... I agree, this should only be done in SINGLE player games and single player modes of games like MHW... NEVER in Multi-player.
You don’t need to farm 8-10 hours a day. These streams are a perfect example of that, I don’t play every day, when I do play it’s 3-4 hours, I don’t really farm off stream and I took a one week break during the holidays. People convince themselves they NEED to farm for 10 hours a day, you don’t. It’s a myth. Take your time and enjoy the game and I assure you, you’ll have a better time with it.
Can I recommend you to look up the ICE mod ( Iceborne Community Edition ) ? It's a mod that reverse the hitzones and weakness exploit and makes the clutchclaw and especially tenderizing more of an option than a requierement. It's very solid.

“Work & family regulate me to the level of filthy casual” - Godamn that was poetic. I felt that.

Seeing Nergigante's Thorns on Barroth is very Terrifying and Scary
I never learned to use the radial menu and I am not ashamed of it.
Lmao I went long time before I got pissed one day at a loss and spent hours watching videos on how to use and customize it .😂 good times
Learning it will make the game even easier

I too started a new playthrough since I never played Iceborne.
Sns, LBG, and a little bit of hammer, DBs, and HBG as my weapon choices.

I am torn between wanting to make a new character, and recoiling in horror at not having all of my (basically finished) progress.
Miss world so much, but dont know if i can bring myself to start over after playing over 1000+ hours.
Definitely would like new game every 3-5 years, I can’t play a game but couple months then on to next
I agree with you about Lance. I love the simple precise, unstoppable technique in Worodborne, and it just didn't have that in Risebreak.
bruh, just call them World and Rise
IceWorld and SunRise. Take it or leave it.@@proggz39

Bring difficulty with wilds like it was with fatalis and at velkh
The ICE mod fix a lot of what you often comment on disliking about iceborne, but you're stubborn about mod = bad. It's a bit sad.
On my pc i just beat pink rathian
