Next weeks cover’s going to be WAY different! Any guesses?
Stay very handsome, y’beauts!
💜💜
An As Gaeilge cover of through the fire and flames
a little rap sound, it’s so much like you XD
A Rock Song? I Love Rock and Roll or Hotel California hopefully
Trying to think of a genre you haven't already shown you can do, and all I can think of is hip hop/rap. That would definitely be interesting
This is the single best cover by an Irishman covering a song by an Englishman about an Irish woman. Hands down.
Something about irish trad style music speaks to the soul in a way other music simply cannot.
O my gosh, this absolutely beautiful. I hope one day we all meet our own pretty little Galway girl.
So Colm, singing aside, what instruments can you play?
Colm: YES
Am I the only one who thinks these two dueting this song would be a masterpiece?
I cannot stress enough how I’ve never been particularly fond of covers until I heard you cover a song. In general, the first way I hear a song is the only way I like it from there, but, man, I want to hear you cover all my favourite songs.
Love when artists sing with their accents it honest brings me a smile both because it sounds amazing but scratches my itch to learn to do voices and impressions
Man you totally owned this song. De-pop-ing the song worked so crazy well in my opinion. Totally love the original and absolutely adore this one! Well done Colm!
I don't comment enough, but just wanted to say thanks for the legendary music! Always my #1 choice!
"Galway Girl" has a complex history with two major versions. Firstly, American singer-songwriter Steve Earle wrote and released his version in 2000, a semi-autobiographical folk-rock love story about a captivating woman he met in Galway, Ireland. Secondly, a highly popular cover was released by Ed Sheeran in 2017, featuring the Irish band Beoga and showcasing a more upbeat, pop-infused take with traditional Irish instrumentation. While Sheeran's version is more widely known, Earle's song maintains popularity too, with both versions sparking numerous other covers and interpretations.
that's right, screw sheeran, that cheap hack!
My mouth fell open and it hasn't closed, the absolute talent is astonishing.
Lyrics!!
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said, "Baby, I just want to dance"
I met her on Grafton street right outside of the bar
She shared a cigarette with me while her brother played the guitar
She asked me what does it mean, the Gaelic ink on your arm?
Said it was one of my friend's songs, do you want to drink on?
She took Jamie as a chaser, Jack for the fun
She got Arthur on the table with Johnny riding a shotgun
Chatted some more, one more drink at the bar
Then put Van on the jukebox, got up to dance
You know, she played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said, "Baby, I just want to dance"
With my pretty little Galway Girl
You're my pretty little Galway Girl
You know she beat me at darts and then she beat me at pool
And then she kissed me like there was nobody else in the room
As last orders were called was when she stood on the stool
After dancing to Cèilidh singing to trad tunes
I never heard Carrickfergus ever sang so sweet
A capella in the bar using her feet for a beat
Oh, I could have that voice playing on repeat for a week
And in this packed out room swear she was singing to me
You know, she played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said, "Baby, I just want to dance"
My pretty little Galway Girl
My, my, my, my, my, my, my Galway Girl
My, my, my, my, my, my, my Galway Girl
My, my, my, my, my, my, my Galway Girl
And now we've outstayed our welcome and it's closing time
I was holding her hand, her hand was holding mine
Our coats both smell of smoke, whisky and wine
As we fill up our lungs with the cold air of the night
I walked her home then she took me inside
To finish some Doritos and another bottle of wine
I swear I'm gonna put you in a song that I write
About a Galway Girl and a perfect night
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said, "Baby, I just want to dance"
My pretty little Galway Girl
My, my, my, my, my, my, my Galway Girl
My, my, my, my, my, my, my Galway Girl
My, my, my, my, my, my, my Galway Girl
Oh I love the twist on this already, very pleasant.
You've come far, my guy. I subbed when you still first made Mass Effect 3 Metal covers. Super stoked to see you flying high.
I hope I will find an Irish man who will love me even if I am an Asian girl! Amazing song Colm as always! 💚
OMGGGGG my favorite guy did a cover of my favorite song?? How did I not see this until now!! I got so excited when I found this AAAAAA!
I could listen to this on repeat for a week
I just did...
I have been scratching high and low for a version of "Fairwell to Nova Scotia" to mention, but much of them are on the old and crusty side of recordings.
If perchance you happen by this song yourself, I hope you and your team might enjoy its likeness to your taste in shanties.
Cheers mates!
Thanks for the serotonin boost!🤗
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one! It’s close to 5am, best way to start my day. Cheers for this 🍀🍀🍀
This is so beautiful!! I love it, you cant imagine how much I enjoy your music. Thank you!!
Yass Colm Loving the new covers. You should do a man without love by Engel Humperdinck.
That's a name that would make Miracle Max grimace.
("The Princess Bride" (1987) reference if you're unaware - Miracle Max hates Prince Humperdinck.)
Oh this is lovely and so much fun! Going on the playlist--this is a delight.
What an absolute banger! Good job Colm!
Colms take makes it just 🎉cant even pick a word for it. Just love it is all i can say😮😮❤
This is fire friend.
I love it can you do soldier, poet, king for the next song please 🥺
He has already done soldier poet king
He already did ua-cam.com/video/-wGfppriHQk/v-deo.html
He already did a cover of with Rachel Hardy! It's really good, highly recommend!
@@geoisacat i mean by himself 😭
like your songs and voice. Keep doing your stuff.
This is so much better man. The oirish accent just spices it up so nicely and your voice is miles sweeter to listen to
WELL DONE!!
I can see this rendition fitting into any playlist on a country music radio station.
Great cover ! Just remembered my visit to Galway, lovely place but a wee bit tricky if you get there by sailboat (the tides are impressive, if you turn up at a less than ideal moment you can’t get into the harbor and you’ll have to fins a working boat with a friendly captain to go alongside)
I'm so happy you covered Ed's more trad-sounding songs, they fit your style so well :D Absolutely fun songs that bring an absolute smile to my workday. 💞🥰 Excellently done
Ayo yasssssss! Did not know I needed this version but this is truly transformative!
Unfortunately can’t watch until I’m home but can’t wait always love your covers
You should do some of Sail North’s songs
Ooooooohhhhh yessssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fast singing in your version is so clean. 🔥
Absolutely brilliant, I love this cover so much
Absolutely stunning
Now I need to hear this man do Lewis Capaldi covers.
Ohh my goodness, this is PHENOMENAL! 💜
Absolutely love this song!!! Could not be a better cover. Thank you sir for once again making amazing content!
Excellent job as always
Yaaaas, I've been hoping you'd cover this song! It's one of my favorites!
It's awesome !
For your next Irish covers, will you consider doing "the man from the daily mail"?
lovely as always
My favorite song from Ed Sheeran! Played by my favorite singer ❤ What a treat to end the day, thank you!
Stop attributing this to Sheeran! He's just another coattail rider for this song, and you gullible muppets are just artificially inflating his importance! If you want to attribute it to somebody, attribute to the right guy, Steve Earle! Stupid TikTok generation …
Oh! I really love this!
Amazing, as always
The only version of this song I actually enjoy.
sounds gorgeous
This is beautiful music😇
That was way good oh my goodness so good
crazy good cover sir. this was a wonderful way to start my day.
Now we need someone to write Wexford Woman.
Never heard of it, what's the song about?
He would need to sing it in Yola, the super divergent variety of English from Forth and Bargy (although it hasn't been used regularly in daily conversation since the mid 1800s)
IMMACULATE 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly sir, bravo!
I thought it was the Steve Earle song, but good cover nonetheless. You’ll get no complaints from me!
But could we have a cover of the Steve Earle song at some point too please? 👉👈😁
This is so, SO good, Colm!
I am always extremely proud to be Irish, Mayoman to Colm x
Arguably better than the original.
Is anything you can't sing. Love this!
Thank you colm for this
You gotta do the other Galway Girl!!! I love this btw!
4k likes! (It changed when I clicked, don't know if I was the one)
Rock solid, love hearing you're songs!
Forget tapping your toes, you'll be stomping your foot/feet to this.
I love this, absalutely lovely. Real banger hehe, keep up the good work :)
LOVE IT MAN
This is amazing! Always love to hear your covers. They make me so happy! May I suggest a "Greensleeves" cover anytime soon? Stay handsome!
Have you ever heard the song "FROM GALWAY TO GRACELAND." I think it's right for you. The right combination of emotional power and subtlety is needed for this song. And the intelligence with which you place emotional colors would really pay off on this song.
Fancy ❤
One of my favorite songs by Ed Sheeran and one of my favorite covers by you 😍

She played her fiddle for an Irish Band and she fell in love with an Irish Man.
I love the cover, i hope you have a nice day tomorrow!
Goated like always Colm
Love this cover, dude! Please cover some more of Ed’s songs!
Such a fun cover! Would love to hear you do a riff on Run Away to Mars by TALK or A Good Song Never Dies by Saint Motel, I've been obsessed with both of those lately
The Greatest showman would be great sung by colm
I NEED Red is the Rose from you!
Need me a Galway girl
You should totally do For the Dancing and the Dreaming, the song from How to Train Your Dragon 2 that Stoic sings to his wife!
For some reason, I kept thinking about Stephen Marturin and Diana Villiers from the Aubrey/Maturin series while I was listening to this. I liked it, though. And this is long overdue but I like the setup you got going on here! It suits you. 😊
Спасибо! Классный кавер! ❤
Amazing video ❤

I won't even lie, i always wondered if you were gonna make your own cover of this lol
really beautiful though my guy, i love both your originals and your covers, a lot of your covers in my opinion are often better then the originals
Yes....Just yes.
I absolutely loved this cover.
Next weeks cover hmmm, any chance it might be Yurgen's Tune or My Love Has Gone Across the Sea from Wingfeather Saga? I'm hoping. God Bless :)
NIce!!
💜💜
SQUEEEEE!!!!
Thanks you!
Ok please buy an inn that I can go to and listen to this😊😢
What light device you use? I want too.
Do you think you could sing home on the range? I feel like your version of it would be one of the best ones ever
What an absolutely fantastic cover mate - though I admit I was hoping it was a cover of The Galway Girl by Steve Earle 😄
Particularly enjoyed the instrumentation/arrangement. Beautifully played and sung, adding it to the playlists. Stay handsome, Brother Bear, and eat a good breakfast 🥞
