You're right. *This is the best arcade stitch tutorial!!!* The demonstration was perfection. And the finished swatch was everything! The color and yarn made it pop!
This works exactly like the virus stitch pattern... which I have been working with for several days in a row (large project, plus several little ones). So, another stitch on my ‚summer stitches‘ list. Thanks. =)
This pattern is beautiful. I need some advice about a yarn color and type. I need a yarn that give the appearance of Opal as a birthstone of October. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
I would use a mercerized yarn in a cream color, such as the Might stitch yarn I used in this tutorial. If you want a worsted weight yarn, I suggest purchasing the bulky. Their bulky yarn feels more like a full #4 worsted weight than bulky. The yarn has a sheen/luster to it and it sooooo so soft. It shines like Caron Simply soft, but without the splitting yarn and limp fabric. www.crochet.com/yarn/mighty-stitch-bulky/c/5420234
Hi Sherri - Cygnet do a DK (3) called Mother of Pearl which has the blues/pinks etc in - it is beautiful. I have my Grandmother's opal ring & it reminds me of that - although the yarn is more grey than blue. Sirdar Boho Spirit in Harmony or Breeze (4 weight) are more blue. I'm not sure how easy they are to get in the US - I'm in the UK & get them from Wool Warehouse online❤️
I saw it and its beautiful, however, I forgot to inform that I was using weight 4 med. Can you suggest some yarn in that category for Opal? Thank you in advance

Looks cool Alysha! May I ask, why this is called an arcade stitch? I was trying to envision pac-man or something... just curious lol 😆
They resemble arcade arches in cathedral-like buildings.
@@LittlejohnsYarn ohhhhhhhh, I was a bit off LOL!
