@@coolsomeash There's a tool I have used many times in the past that blanks out the password of any windows user in one click without all of these steps. I fix computers on and off and it's not uncommon for someone to bring in a computer they haven't used in awhile and don't know the pw. You cant fix anything if you cant log into windows and even if you intend to factory reset anyway, at least you'll save their important files. I believe Hirens boot cd has the tool and instead of Linux you boot into Minixp right from the USB. So it's much more familiar to use if you never used Linux. Look it up, you can definitely get your computer back!
Or just mount the iso file, formatt the usb to be a FAT32, and copy all the files of the mounted iso into the USB and it should work, cuz i did it like that

Hi, try cleanly shutting down Windows from the login screen: Press and hold down SHIFT while clicking Shut Down from the Windows login screen. Then start and try to boot Linux permission should be ok

When booting into the linux usb the windows hard drive is not showing up, and when doing fdisk -l it is not listed either. It looks like the fast-startup option in power management is responsible. Is there any solution to this? Given its the default setting now and cannot be changed without admin permissions it seems like a problem.
Never mind, I found the problem. By turning on legacy boot and putting usb to the top of the boot order, kali could see the hard drive. I did it this way a few years ago and forgot to do that step this time. After entering kali this way I can tamper with system32 to my heart's content.

If you cant find "Use a device" (Warning: Remove any USB ports (except your mouse or keyboard) like printers, scanners, etc..) find out your hotkey to open the boot menu when you restart (for mine "DELL" is F12 and for "HP" is F10) when its a blank screen or its loading (NOT THE WINDOWS LOGO) press the boot menu hotkey desired for your pc brand there you have the boot menu then use the arrow keys to move up and down in the boot menu go to your USB drive (Or anything that has USB in it, that's what I did) and press enter you will be redirected to Kali Linux you will see options don't go up or down pick the first one (that's what I did) there now wait for Kali Linux to load now you can follow the steps in the video

@@mmktut i was successfully second time in creating linux live usb and booted into linux as well. I had to disable secure boot from bios menu to successfully boot into linux. But there is only partition shown to me, named "file system" but yours had one more, named "75gb volume" which had sam file. There is a root folder but it says "access is denied"

There is other way. Best way is to use Kali Linux USB to boot from and then CLEAR password for user(administrator) and also use Unlock even if not locked.

Nevermind, i found a solution, i just copied the same directory in terminal with the cd command, it worked, i have full access to the pc

then from the list copy which group, you interesting in and enter in cmd, example:
net localgroup Administrators
so this command lists all admins
or enter:
net localgroup Guests
his command lists all Guests
method 2:
In Windows search box or in cmd up to you type:
lusrmgr.msc
then select the Users folder, this lists all of your users if the arrow down that user is disabled.
then right-click on user to find in which groups it belongs and select "properties", then click the "Member of" tab and you will see group member.
If you want to add more permissions to the user, just click "Add" then "Advanced" and "Find now" you will get all available group lists so choose which you want to add and double click on it, then click OK,
you will see it appears under "Member Of" tab.
IF you don't have permissions to do all this just follow my tutorial step by step and get all admin privileges easily.

Hi, I just checked the Linux Live USB Creator link it works, please try to download it with another web browser, and the answer to your question is yes, you can use RUFUS, but try the same options as shown in the video

Hi, as i understand you can t see your hard drives.
First retry to boot with same method, if you hard drives are in MBR then try to boot using Legacy mode if GPT try EFI.

(Warning: Remove any USB ports (except your mouse or keyboard) like printers, scanners, etc..)
find out your hotkey to open the boot menu when you restart (for mine "DELL" is F12 and for "HP" is F10)
when its a blank screen or its loading (NOT THE WINDOWS LOGO)
press the boot menu hotkey desired for your pc brand
there you have the boot menu
then use the arrow keys to move up and down in the boot menu
go to your USB drive (Or anything that has USB in it, that's what I did)
and press enter
you will be redirected to Kali Linux
you will see options
don't go up or down pick the first one (that's what I did)
there now wait for Kali Linux to load
now you can follow the steps in the video
You can search on youtube how to open the boot menu

Help, I tried to do this and got all the way up to the SAM terminal, and when I typed "chntpw -i SAM" it didn't work properly, it just said it was unable to read-only or something like that, if you could help that would be great.

Linux live usb was created successfully and it had occupied around 3-3.5gb in it. But when i opened the usb , there weren't any files or folders. I tried booting from it, but instead of booting in linux my pc just restarted normally. Please help....
Ok, First of all, try to format USB, then try to create Linux live again. if not you may need to fix your USB drive, just search for: how to fix corrupted USB using cmd
@@mmktut i was successfully second time in creating linux live usb and booted into linux as well. I had to disable secure boot from bios menu to successfully boot into linux. But there is only partition shown to me, named "file system" but yours had one more, named "75gb volume" which had sam file. There is a root folder but it says "access is denied"

ok, i have a problem, the windows built-in administrator account is the one who is active and i don't know the password, is there still a way to get administrator without resetting the computer or booting from installation disk?
There is other way. Best way is to use Kali Linux USB to boot from and then CLEAR password for user(administrator) and also use Unlock even if not locked.
