    Thank you. If it weren’t for this video, based on the written instructions, I would have just returned the item. I was able to do it with the video in exactly 2 hrs with no issues. Fits 2024

      Is your 2024 diesel or gas? Mine is diesel and I'm having some issues. For one the connection spot for the MAS on mine is alot farther away and doesn't look like it will stretch that far. Two, there are no CCV lines connected to the intake tube on the 2024 diesel models. I'm hoping yours was a diesel and since it worked for you I'll start on mine but just don't want to start ripping out parts till I know for sure.

    This is a well done video showing many intricate details. I’ll do further research before considering this vehicle option on my 2020 6.6L gas Chevy HD. I can more quickly agree there may be gains for a turbo engine, yet less so for a naturally aspirated gasoline engine like this one / mine. I am happy with my OE design air system; anything else might make sensors send info. to computers to compensate and therefore the results with such a Cold Air Intake may be nullified (hp or torque or fuel mileage) at the end of the day. I'd have to see significant improvement and credible data before "spending" money on what could be a snake oil option.

      K&N has an advertised HP/TQ gain on their kit.

      @@terrypatterson4581 thanks for your reply. That’s good to know. I can’t remember exactly where I wrote further comment about such filters like K&N but based on my education in engineering supplemented with my +25 years as a filter manufacturer’s representative, I will stick with OEM filters (this is the short answer). Part of the long answer includes a study I read where the amount of flow through the K&N and the like is more, so perhaps more hp or other as you wrote. However, regarding particulate, it let through far more (I mean a lot more) and if you know anything about ISO codes from the world of lube and hydraulics, you will find how even minute amounts of particulate will shorten the life of rotating equipment (engine in this case), and that’s keeping it simple and short. In the end, each to their own. Gain hp as you mention, yet damage your engine prematurely or better protect to get the most life and long term use and compression out of your vehicle. Vehicles are not cheap anymore and trucks are now ridiculously expensive to replace as are parts and mechanic prices. Sincerely, pick your poison. Take care.

    I installed K&N on 2022 GMC 2500 with 6.6 gas. K&N sent dyno sheet that showed 20 horsepower and 20 lb ft of torque gain. Runs great, sounds great. My guess is S&B is similar result.

    • @nhlcfl7733
      @nhlcfl7733 2 роки тому

      That sounds great Scott. I’m going to consider this aftermarket product further. Feel free to read my comment. I’d like to suggest checking out Project Farm’s UA-cam about Air Filters to see how K&N faired when filtering particles compared to an OE or a Purolator One or a WIX. Sadly some filter mfrs. Provide lots of hype but their “actual” filter technology is spooky for the vehicle owner and the protection of engine wear. Robert

    I have a 2020 gas. These trucks come from the factory with cold air intake.

  • @BOWSMOKE
    @BOWSMOKE 2 роки тому +3

    Ok, I need a question answered. Most people see “cold air” and forget what we are talking about. Specifically with this truck. The video literally shows her removing the intake from the front, upper lip of the leading edge of the hood. The coldest air possible is already going into the engine on this truck. Where the performance gains come from (my opinion)are the removal of the corrugated intake hose and the helmholtz resonator. I could be completely wrong here.,,, but I feel like all we need to do is just have someone manufacture a smooth intake pipe and have the same results for 300-400 bucks less. If there is a rebuttal for it from the manufacturer, I’d like to see air temps from the stock intake location vs aftermarket. If they are the same then “cold air” isn’t behind the performance gains. My question is , does anyone know of just an intake tube for sale? Thanks.

    • @thomplatt8945
      @thomplatt8945 Рік тому +1

      Well the intake only costs 350. So, not sure how you would save 3-400 buying simply a different intake tube.

      Delta P is the sum of the whole. It does but the real question is always how much and the effect on the maf scale.
      Look at the size of the filter too
