Thank You so Much for showing us how to do this. I have wanted to paint houses in my little town in the historic district for so long. Also thinak for showing how to do the drawing on Procreate. You are a fantastic teacher.
I loved this video. You explain things so well and it's helpful to see you figure things out as you go, like on the bricks. Thank you for sharing with us!
Thanks SO very much for this tutorial! I have wanted to paint a watercolor of our home for 10 years but I've always been intimidated. And I'm ordering my Paine's gray today.
I cannot draw. I usually trace most things because for me, it’s about the painting not the drawing. I have the app Sketch My Pic, which gives me an outline. I love today’s tutorial, and I have purchased the Princeton snap brushes. I love them.
I just got Procreate and I REALLY appreciate learning how to do the tracing, because sometimes I am just in a hurry to paint and I don’t care about doing the drawing.
Girl--you have the patience of Jobe to do this house so precisely! I'd LOVE to paint it, but haven't the patience to sketch it out. Amazing painting, Emma. Beautiful considering how much detail you had to insert. (I also learn a LOT how to bette use my dusty iPad!). Many thanks for another gift from the Emma Studio! LOVE IT! PS: I also used my NEW Amazon item today, & I think you'll be much more adept at using it than me! You've come SO far since I've began learning from you. Peonies! My 1st Emma vid! Happy day to you, Emma, and many thanks again! Frances Turano Denver, CO
Emma, What kind of watercolor do you use? Do you buy them in tubes or half pans? You have mentioned the brand Windsor- newton but I didn’t hear you mention if it’s from the tube or half pans. I am wondering because I am trying to upgrade to better material and would like to hear from you. Thanks!
Really beautiful😊 All your info was so helpful...thank you😊 I’m just having a problem finding the procreate app...any help would be appreciated! Love your tutorial and I’m learning so much from you Emma!
I admit I kinda rolled my eyes when you didn't just trace straight from the main picture (devil side of me came out, sorry!), but then when you showed the difference through the paper of the original picture versus the black lines, it was actually kind of an "AH-HA!" moment. Thanks for sharing your technique and not being afraid of the forbidden word "TRACING." 😁
I enjoy your videos. I do water color house portraits and take a photograph and enlarge it on a copier and trace that image. I wonder since you are such a good artist you use Cotman which are student paints?
You can also print the image on your watercolor paper if it fits in your printer. Just take the printed version of the outline to the printer and insert properly sized watercolor paper in the printer. Voila!
one more good video... for people who think "cheating": it's no such thing as cheating. We use every technique who is available... If not we will still leave in a cave, wearing animal fur... Only "purists" and conservative things this way... the ones who think like old people...
Thank you! I have my first house commission and this was very helpful.
Beautiful art

UA-cam is adding your older videos to my suggested watch lists lately and they are great! This painting is beautiful!
BEAUTIFULLY DONE, Emma!!! This would be a great idea for a house warming gift!! 🏠
Great tutorial! The app Colorscape will take a picture and turn it into a line drawing so its easier to transfer :)
I loved this video. You explain things so well and it's helpful to see you figure things out as you go, like on the bricks. Thank you for sharing with us!
Love this!!! Great information/tips❤

Did you end up using the white ink for highlights? I might of missed it that part...but was curious about that technique.
Love, love! Your demonstration; very well explained!
Thank you for making the task of painting where grew up less daunting. I am going to try with my iPad Pro as a tool. Beautiful job!
Stunning. I love the way you worked it.
Great demonstration! You are a good instructor, describing everything you are doing. Thank you! I’m now a new subscriber!
I have been waiting for this tutorial! Thank you so, so much for showing us how to do it.
Thanks for this great tutorial. It was really fun seeing how it just came together. The layering is so important. Hard for us impetuous people! ha ha
Great little house! Nice techniques, too. Thanks for the tip about Procreate!
Love it! Thanks for sharing

Thank you for the tip on the app you use. I have lots of outline apps but this one gives just the right amount of detail.
Thank you so very much for such a detailed and fabulous tutorial! You are so kind to share your talent.
Loved this. You make me think I can possibly watercolor my house. Thanks so much!!!
Hi.. How do you do Emma ..
Wow... it's so beautiful and amazing painting technique

Emma
You make beautiful paintings.
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing.
Loved this. Wanted to learn to do it for a while! Missed seeing the ink application...
Cindy Garrison You can watch it again. Sometimes I watch the videos several times.

This turned out fabulous! Great job!
Great video thanks. Lots of work in this
Emma I loved this video! The house is fabulous and I love the Procreate demo. Thank you !
Could you use the gray for the entire house as the browns would cover the gray?
Wonderful Emma
Beautiful! Thanks for this wonderful tutorial. Its so helpful!!!

GREAT tutorial 🎨 thank you so much 🤗
Beautiful job!!!
Bellissimo!ciao Emma 😊🌸
Emma, do you have a tracing template of the house you painted??? I don’t have procreate. Thank you!!
You can also trace from laptop onto a practice sheet so you can clean up lines and darken and then use laptop screen as light box for final sketch.
I made a business doing this for 15 years
Great video Emma, thanks for sharing :)
Hi! If I try to trace on the iPad, it moves underneath. Any trick for this?
This is a lot of work!!! Amazing!!! I really need an iPad. Miss mine. 💔🖤
Fabulous job 🙂🙂🙂
Nice!
This is amazing!!! Thank you!

Cynthia Emerick because they are cheaper and I don’t personally see a huge difference.
You can also print the image on your watercolor paper if it fits in your printer. Just take the printed version of the outline to the printer and insert properly sized watercolor paper in the printer. Voila!
Thanks. Very helpful.
Lovely tutorial thank you ❤️❤️
What sites do you go to to find houses?
Oh Btw you're baby is beautiful!!! He has the cutest cheeks😍 ❤
This was a great tutorial Emma.
