  • It's about time that I have a woodshed at the cabin. Aside from an outhouse, this might be the most important outbuilding. It's not completed yet, but the walls are up and the roof is on. This allows me to get my firewood under cover from the rain and snow.
    I made bird's mouth rafter cuts on this build which was fairly simple to do and will strengthen the building.

    I grew up not far from there late 1960s early 70s. Awesome memories of family swims in the Nashwaak river right by the Penniac bridge. Truly a beautiful place !

    Being one of your original sub, pretty cool to see you get to 50k. I'll say it again, wouldn't hurt my feelings if you posted more episodes. Love your channel!

    Great job! Your home will turn into an impressive complex if you add the bathhouse! This video was super soothing and still very dynamic. I am aware that I might ask a ridiculous question right now: Why do you put windows in a woodshed?... cut me some slack please, ignorant Floridian who knows nothing about fireplaces or snow.

      @PenniacWilderness  Рік тому

      Good question! If it were only a woodshed then the windows might not be needed, but I think over time it may serve as a work shed, storage and I wanted to have the sun coming in :)

    Nice job...I would consider siding with space between each board (either vertical or horizontal siding) to increase air flow and promote drying.

    Great looking shed there eh! Lots of space, will you have enough room to store more than 1 winter's worth of wood? Thanks for sharing

    • @PenniacWilderness
      @PenniacWilderness  Рік тому +1

      I think if I pack it full then maybe - it would hold 6 cord. But I'm hoping for 3 inside with a bit of room to store things. I guess it depends on what this winter brings for weather 🤔

    If you were to side the woodshed with the same metal as its roof, would it absorb lots of solar heat and dry the wood faster than if it were sided with wood?

    • @PenniacWilderness
      @PenniacWilderness  Рік тому +1

      It might - but it would cost more since I can do the siding with my sawmill. But you definitely do see building sided the way you describe.

      @@PenniacWilderness How long are the longest boards you'll need to side the woodshed?

    I’d recommend you allow for some gaps in the siding to allow the wind and air to move through to allow the wood to season and keep dry. Also reduces the chance that critters use the back corner as a house.

      They use Zelinsky for one purpose to get rid of dissatisfied people and the government is aimed and made to solve economic problems by setting up a war and Ukraine another picture to help to get back in power and let the war get rid of pensioners and all debts and unnecessary people once again gets rid of problems, and we people interfere with the rich and incumbent president to manage the war. The president and neither side went to the ceasefire and it means that the genocide in two points was organized, the war helps the economy in the West and was quoted in a Russian newspaper. People have become dumber and do not understand what is happening. And the authorities do not change that they brought to genocide not guilty neither one side nor the other. Media say one thing, victims say another, and presidents do not want to hear another. They want to block the world from others, block UA-cam and continue to gossip about what is good and what is bad, that power, that we achieved this genocide by the hands of the West at the expense of the president , we did not think and no one thought, and do not want to think only lives are wasted when there is no logic of war and everyone is to blame. Let's change everything and stop touching Russia and become a genocide, it helped in the plan of natural resources ❤❤❤😊
