For just the unopened box itself the $40 is a generous deal because there's no guarantee that the contents inside are any good today, so if it is opened and the respirator is in shambles the whole thing will be worthless.

Quick search and there were 694,000 coal miners in 1919 and it fell to 602,000 in 1929. I have family in that part of the United States. They throw nothing away.

This is my 4th Pawn Stars clip today. In the first 2, the customer wanted exactly 20X what their item is worth (1950's massager, English tradesman's bike)....and now this guy wants 25X what his item is worth. In the other clip (1893 Icebox), the guy's initial price was what Corey thought he could sell it for, which was within reason.
