Hey man, I just subscribed. I watched your painted whitewall tire tutorial and it was great! It is the best out there by far. I never would have thought of using the vinyl die as a topcoat and using a heat gun. I’m going to try it out. The follow up video was great too. I was amazed how well they held up. Your truck looks great. I always liked that year of Fleetside. The rear lights look like rockets. I have a ‘95 Cadillac Fleetwood and they don’t make whitewalls in the factory size anymore. Thank you so much!
thanks for subscribing!
Good tips for the stone hone. I’ve got a Ford 352 FE block that I was about to rebuild and had to move due to job change 7 years ago. Was freshly machined .030 over from Machine shop. Before I wrapped it up I soaked it down a few times with WD-40…. Almost scared to unwrap and see how it’s survived…. I’m like you, lots of un-finished projects. I’m in the process of another move now. Haha. Hoping this can be our final move and I can get back at all these projects soon. Good to see you on this one, keep ‘em coming. Encouragement for the rest of us. Clay
it never ends... glad to know I'm not alone! thanks for the encouragement! and thanks for watching and subscribing!
I’ve rebuilt motors that have scoring in cylinders, it’s never caused me any issues. However I’ve never built high performance motors.
thanks! yeah, several others have said mine should be fine... let's just hope it doesn't blow apart going down the drag strip! ha!
You are just like me to many projects.
Very timely video. I’m getting ready to do this to a 4.3 boat engine in a few days.
good luck! hope it works out...
Use the ball flex hone ball
Run it looks fine.
Just make sure to measure the piston ring gap clearances
definitely. I will likely go with all new pistons, not just replace the one. new rings, etc, and the machine shop will balance everything. thanks for watching!
And keep the piston ring organized
oh yeah BIG time... super important since the rings are gapped for each specific cylinder. thanks!
My opinion I would've just resleeve the cylinders...just because of the scoring...just start fresh
thanks for the advice! I was thinking the same... but I would just bore it to .040 (currently .030 over) instead of sleeving.
That why I commented on resleeving it cause it looked like it was
