  • It’s Transgender Awareness Week and Taser trainer, PC Skye Morden has shared her story of life as a trans officer with West Midlands Police.
We’re proud of Skye and proud to represent all of the communities we serve - that’s why we’re known to be one of the top five most inclusive employers in the UK.
Having different people from different backgrounds work for us, means that better understand the different people who need our help. It also means our officers and staff can come to work and put all their effort into preventing crime, protecting people and helping those in need, instead of hiding their true, authentic self.
Skye’s story is one of many shared by our officers - including WMP Sergeants Sunny Kaur Cheema and Sanjeev Bhatoe - to inspire others to join the force. You can see them at: joiningthepolice.co.uk, the site for anyone in the UK who is considering becoming a police officer.
