I couldn't help myself but cry at the scene where the Sheriff, reunited with his vampiric son, pray towards the East just moments before the sunrise. With "Nearer, my God, to Thee" in the background, it was so overwhelming.

More than that, from another video's comment section, a muslim with the username Muhammad Azka Rais explained that prayer can be practiced with 1, 2, or more people.
"If it just two people with the same gender, then the person who called the Imam or the leader, stands in the left, whereas the ma'mum or the follower (sorry for the incorrect vocabulary, I'm a non native), stands in the right. From episode to episode, Sheriff Hassan was always leading the prayer. But in the end, Ali lead the prayer. Which made a great character arc for Ali. He was a normal muslim kid, started questioning his beliefs, lost in the wrong way, but didn't kill anyone even after changing to a vampire, helped his dad, and then lead the prayer."
This explanation really tied it all together for me concerning the two characters. (if you don't remember, Ali was to the left of his father on the beach)

Another cool fact in that scene was that the Sherrif passes away in Sujūd (state of prostration during prayer). It is said in Islam that it is a great and utmost honor for a person to pass away in Sujūd, an indication that they have led an honorable and pious life and are guaranteed Jannah (heaven). I'm not certain whether it was intentional or not but with the way Muslims have been so well represented in this series, it's safe to say that the director intended it that way.

The part about Mon Senior only becoming a vampire after “further consumption of vampire blood” is incorrect. I think the assumption is that Bev Keane poisons him as she’s seen returning the poison to the cupboard that same episode, which comes immediately after she sees the old photo of Mon Senior in the newspaper as his younger self. The scene ends after mon Senior walks in so it may be that a conversation about it ensued. The convulsions he has and the spitting up are consistent with how the others die in the church, who drunk the poison. It would suggest that Bev poisons him because she suspects he is mon Senior (the original) and suspects he will be brought back to life, which confirms what she suspects about mon Senior and fulfils her desire to bring about the spiritual revolution.

Now that that lame joke is out of the way ...
I understand why so many people hate Bev Keane. Believe me, I'm one of them. She is truly a despicable character, and her death scene is especially appropriate.
But why are so many fans willing to give Father Pruitt a free pass? I mean, he is the one who brought the vampire to the island and saw to it that the citizens would become infected. Remember: it's because of his actions that Erin lost her baby. It's because of Pruitt that Riley became infected, which led to Riley's final death. Pruitt also murdered Joe Collie, a man who was trying to turn his life around. He did all of this while claiming that he was a man of God and declaring that the obviously demonic creature was an angel. Instead of protecting his flock, he led them to their downfall.
But hey! I guess he deserves a pass because he did it all for "twu wove." And, after all, he did eventually come around and realize that he was wrong.
    GIVE ME A BREAK!

Yeah, you’d think a man of the cloth would be more aware of the dangers of false idols, but if you’ll note John/Paul saw the vampire’s life force surrounding it’s head like a halo, and biblical angels look nothing like we imagine them to. And it wasn’t until after his first death that he lost the ability to walk in the daylight (making it definitively clear that his angel was anything but).
…Blinded by his faith, he gets a degree of sympathy, but I’m not giving him a pass here. It’s just, he already died, I can’t hold him to any further accountability than that. What could I do, learn necromancy to kill him again? 😅

They could have easily made that whole resurrection being a success at the end and proceed to milking it for many more seasons on how they go and try take over the world :D Which would just be lackluster and turned into cheap drama.

The eventual tie up at the end revealing Monsignor Pruitt and Mildred’s relationship was really interesting as a lot of little moments made sense then. Like why Monsignor was always staring at Sarah and why Mildred paused when Sarah asked what her dad’s name was when testing her dementia. But it annoys me how quick Mildred was to forgive him like it makes any difference that he was doing it for a second chance with them. He still brought a creature to the island and killed everyone, except Warren and Leeza, on it. Bev was a B, the creature was horrifying but the true monster was still Monsignor. He didn’t deserve a peaceful end. His selfish and presumptuous views destroyed so many lives.

I genuinely think that it was an Angel, its just based off vampires. Theres a couple of reasons.
1: It was going to let Pruitt die, however it visibly noticed the Monsignor recite the Lirds prayer. You can see the thought process on its face when it decided to heal him. It was specifically because it identified him as Christian.
2:The 'Angel' carries certain traits not seen in your typical vampire. It doesnt have a seductive glamour, it can mimick its preys voice exactly, it flies. It doesnt REQUIRE human blood, all animals appear to do the trick. There are about as many vampire traits as there are non vampire traits.
Its clearly based off a vampire, and honestly I think classifying its genus misses the point. Its a metaphor for fanaticism.

He well could have been both Angle/Vampire like The Master in "The Strain" who was an Angel "Ozryel" cast down and cut into 7 pieces that all returned as vampires. Also Father Paul was not changed because he drank to much blood it's because at some point Bev saw his picture "she was staring at it a bit before" and wanted to test him and see if he was god's chosen knowing that Father Paul and the old Priest that was out sick was one in the same so she poisoned his ass to confirm his immortality.

They established that the vampire blood was slowly overtaking their body, much like how alcohol would and that if they stopped taking it in before a certain point, their body would eventually flush it out, hence why Leeza became paraplegic again at the end. My only remaining question (and it might be silly as I rushed through the episodes) is this. Is the writer saying the vampire used religion to gain more prey in this specific incident? Or, is he saying that the roots of the entire religion was a celebration of ancient vampire lore and that vampires (maybe even this one) had some part in the beginnings of that? I hesitate to ask as religion always offends someone but I thought that was ambiguous. What is a vampire doing in a cave in the desert in Syria (I think)?

@@MarkMarkko I guess. But why all of them on the beach the same night? Seems more of a biblical meaning than just feeding of the vampire

@@Trumpetjoe40 that night, master vampire has been seen on the beach. I think he simply fed on cats. After, his hunger grew and he started with humans.

U made a mistake saying the rosary burned Pruitt. He squeeze it so hard that it’s sharp edges pierced the skin…that was the only reason his hand was bleeding

Could vampires be real fallen angels and only just made fictitious to create a narrative of God not being real and made up? This show brings up soo much. Superb show!

The Vampire is the false savior like there is one in the original revelation. The people following him ended up dieing.

How does the vampire communicate with father Paul and agreed to wear mass robe since he didn't speak a single word from the beginning? And why he walked elegantly in the church like a man and standing in the altar while patiently waiting for the holy grail ritual, but mostly he has been showed acting like a demon or an animal?

Maybe it can communicate telepathically with those that it has bitten? Or we can reasonably assume that it can speak but they just never show it.

Father Paul's hand didn't bleed because he touched a cross. It bled because the cross piece dug into his hand when he squeezed his hand shut.

The only new thing I learned was that Still Watching Netflix doesn’t know that the rosary cross was cutting into the skin of his palm from gripping it hard not from vampirism.

Many suoernatual events are explained by a ordinary actions. How the rosary injured the hand is not the point. The point is the rosary injured the hand.
