@@rosenrot234 Despite the fact that they shoved to the sidelines,at least Peridot is a character. Unlike White who doesn't have a personality, was robbed of her OWN design and could been substituted by anyone and everything would still be the same.

Honestly, as pessimistic as it sounds, I think it was a bad call for Steven to completely get rid of order in Homeworld. No armies means they can't defend themselves. No sapphires means they can't ensure safety. No lawyers means injustice is inevitable.Having the Diamonds is the closest thing they have to order, but are they even that relevant without loyal subjects to command?
Exactly, I was thinking that too when Yellow decided to "liberate her armies". I understand that SU wants to show other means to solve a problem beside violence, but you cant give up your armies so fast.

Sky's Universe not to mention the fact that since the Diamonds no longer conquer new planets for colonization, that means that there’s no more usage for the gem injectors to create new gems. Steven has pretty much forced all of Gemkind to a finite population!
Ok so the movie had Steven spend two years with the diamonds setting up everything.
It would just be sad if Steven never bothered to listen to the gems that were having a problem with the new life style.

Yeah they can form a type represented democracy like the united states however where the diamonds stay on top as like a president and other high figures in the government where they take the consideration of gem representives and make laws or rules according to them.

Enter name here the thing is, there are gems designed for those politic responsibilities. Gems are not like humans, they are created for a purpose and have core personalities and abilities that allow them to serve such purpose. It doesn’t matter how hard a pearl tries to be a good fighter, she will always be inferior to a quartz soldier with equal training.

1. I adore Steven Universe but I don't think he's the best mediator. Plus, after cleaning messes caused by his mother Pink Diamond and the other diamonds, it would make sense for Steven to clean up a mess that he himself caused. His actions throughout the episode "change your mind " and the 2 years all the way through to Steven Universe the movie, would have negative consequences he would not have foreseen and would have to fix.
2. While Pink Diamond may not have a body count as high as the other diamonds, but that doesn't mean that the damage she caused isn't any less severe. The corrupted gems, forced gem fusion experiments, the cluster, White Diamond's seclusion from the other diamonds, Yellow Diamond focusing more on work as a coping mechanism, Blue Diamond's depression, and Spinel nearly poisoning the entire earth, all the result of Pink Diamond and her actions.
3. I think the diamonds should remain leaders as a way to maintain order on homeworld, but they must be better people as their way to atone for what they've done to Pink Diamond, their fellow gems, and to the many alien species they've invaded and destroyed.
Technically you cant put forced gem fusions on pink, thats something yellow was secretly working on behind her back, brought on by seeing garnet (since i havent seen another fusion in any of the war flashbacks) fighting against stronger gems and yellow naturally wandering how to turn it into a weapon since thats her purpose.
I do wander how pink learned to make weapons though, like the canon, did yellow show here? Did the healing tears idea maybe come from blue? And why is pink so small? Sorry now im just on a rant

1. Yellow Diamond never saw Garnet come to be, that was Blue Diamond.
2. You can't say that Yellow Diamond made forced fusion experiments due to Garnet, since Yellow wasn't aware of the Garnet fusion at the time of the gem war.
3. It's heavily implied in the show that the forced gem fusion experiments on earth led to the creation of the cluster, which Yellow diamond created to destroy the earth in an attempt to erase things that belonged to Pink Diamond, as her way of coping with the loss of Pink.
So in conclusion, the forced gem fusion experiments are partially pink diamond's fault.
So basically homeworld is gonna be like earth without no government

@Autumn Potato I don't think the pebble Steven made was technically a gem as it had no gemstone unlike the other pebbles I think they might be like soil test to see if gems would form or highly deformed gems that came out wrong.
Edit: in my opinion the pebble Steven made is like the watermelon Stevens not a gem but still alive.
Stopped harvesting planets with life on 'em. There are 3 solid planets just in our own solar system that have plenty of mineral resources but no life.

I think the Diamonds should stay in power. They've learned a lot from Steven, and especially since Steven himself is now technically part of the Diamond authority even if he doesn't live on Homeworld. I think that Homeworld without the Diamonds would completely fall apart, and I definitely feel like with Steven's help they could make Homeworld way more liberal. Maybe there should be, like, a sort of parliament or smth to work with the Diamonds? But Idk I just love the Diamonds okay.

I feel like maybe they should’ve established some form of democracy to rule the gems. Think of like a Gem Parliament or Congress, and either a single head of government , or a sort of elected council to do executive functions, perhaps the diamonds could be kept as powerless figureheads. But the point is Steven failed in the sense that the freedom ideology of the crystal gems, hasn’t been institutionalized by government, merely the promise of the dictators to preserve , which if the Mind controlled white diamond thing ends up happening , can be very risky

2 I think it depends on the direction of gemkind...they were given the tools to rule as monarchs they should be high council to a leader. Yellow should be defence blue should be Intel. Emerald should be space exploration. Aquamarines should handle general productivity on Homeworld. Roles should be optional but if u were created with the tools for the role already. Default should be presumed unless adjustments are needed.

I think it would be great if Steven realizes that he went about saving Homeworld in a way that actually harmed it. It could teach him that even if he's still much better at solving problems than Pink Diamond, he can still screw up just as catastrophically as her.
White diamond, with her over exaggerated moods, feel that history repeated itself because Steven doesn’t want to visit the diamonds... so she kinda relapses

I'm hoping and could easily see HW as being attacked by any number of enemies it made during its repeated conquest. The look on WD face right at 3:04 could be frustrated at the lack of unity on HW while the Gempire is under attack. We could tell by WDs tone of voice at the end of the movie she doesn't actually buy into Stevens love and friendship crap.
Can't wait to see how they handle this in future, I hope the diamond dilemma is addressed, as I don't think they deserve to stay in power, there atrocities are to extensive and grievous to be ignored any longer.
Now both worlds are vulnerable and open for any danger, since what happens on Homeworld can carry over to Earth, thanks to Little Homeworld and the Galaxy Warps.

I think the best thing for Gem kind is for the diamonds to stay in power for the simple reason that if they would step down there would be no other gem qualified or respected to lead the entirety of Homeworld and it’s colony’s there would just be a mess for a long time and with gems getting shattered in the fight for power there would be a renewed interest in conquering planets in order to replenish their numbers.

I've watched so many theories and yet I still think White's pink coloration in the intro is meant to be something bigger than just a symbol of her losing control. Idk, I still lowkey expect something a la "White was Pink all along" or "White was Pink who lost her color so new Pink was created". We still have no idea what went down with Pink/White Pearl and Our Pearl and I haven't given up on believing our Pearl belonged to White D, either.
Because they create new gems. If the diamond die, the gems are put on limited time until something shatters them or they succumb to natural corruption like Spinel.
I know this might not be the most popular, but to the question you pose, should the Diamonds remain in power? Yes.
The reason: As of right now, there is no better alternative. The Diamonds know how to lead and have been doing so for eons. Yes, Steven has changed some things, but it's only been 2 years. A blink of an eye for the gems. Without the Diamonds, gem society would fall apart very quickly. On top of that, without the Diamonds, there are no more gems. They give "birth" to all the others. Change takes time, and not all change will be what we think is right. Sometimes the dictatorship is probably the right move right now.
Something You Should Keep In Mind,Though Is That ALL Gems Were Created For A Reason/With Basic Programming: The Diamonds,Included. Yes,The Diamonds Have Done Some Pretty Bad Stuff,But Whatever Race Created Them (Or At Least White,Who Then Created The Diamonds Who THEN Created The Gems That Would THEN Create The Rest Of The Gem Race) Created Them To Be Like That As To Keep Control Over The Rest Of The Race. I personally think that The Diamonds should continue to rule Homeworld. No, they don’t deserve to lead(at least not yet) but they are the ones best fit for the job.
An authority should be intimidating yet reliable. If there’s no intimidation why would you follow the rules? But it should also be expected that the leader(s) do what is best for their people and do so reliably. This also makes it even more appealing to follow the rules since you get a reward in the form of freedom or other liberties.
The problem at this point in the series is that The Diamonds don’t know how to rule fairly and peacefully. They have not yet adjusted to the liberal mindset that Steven has not to mention that they don’t see the faults in their past behavior. They are just trying to please Steven. But the “be whatever you want to be” mentality just doesn’t work in this leadership model. There has to be rules, restrictions, something to keep the gems in line and punishment for disobeying. Maybe not at extreme as before but there has to be something. Not even the most peaceful countries on planet Earth are free from punishments. It just has to be done properly so as not to make the citizens afraid of the government like in era 1 and 2. It’s actually a very interesting topic how being too free from rules and authority can cripple an entire civilisation. Thank you for making this video😊

I just noticed a small detail (idk if it has to do anything but i'll still tell you) When steven is podcasting his message to everyone, he has his sweater and blue shirt on with a yellow star right?.. well when he's pink and is being showed to the rest of all the gems he's talking to, there is no star, and what does the star mean? like peridot said the Crystal Gems.. and what do they stand for?.. maybe this was white diamond her plan all along secretley she knew that she couldn't defeat (pink diamond her light?) so she contacted her creator and is now playing along with her OWN game waiting until the boss arrives and puts things into place.. (this might be a little far but idk it seemed cool lol)
Your right abut needing gems to stay in the army. I hope there are enough volunteers to at least patrol the borders. Steven needed to stay at least somewhat involved with the running of the homeworld say a biweekly meeting with the other diamonds to fix any problems that would arise and keep her antys from falling apart. I always saw the diamonds to the other gems like living deities, I mean look at the Crystal Gems, the rebellion really only started after Pink decided that she wanted the earth to live. A revolt from gems won't start unless certain gems find leadership in a gem that leads gems to directly revolt against the diamonds and want them punished, due to gems being different from humans, where each gem was designed for one task or another, the closest thing to a rebellion might happen from the quartz soldiers who no longer have a purpose due to armies being abolished. Realistically an organic army that's angry at the diamonds sounds like the most possible, one where the organics want the diamonds heads. I really don't see the writers of SU taking that route so most likely the next new enemy that the gems could face is a gem that was angry at pink because she's just become the martyr of gem hate now.

The diamonds have one power over Gems the have the power to reproduce. No otner Gem caste can created more Gems. They are the literal mothers of all Gemkind. Until Steven masters reproduction or another Diamond is found they still have the upper hand.

Maybe the reason they are still dictators is because homeworld doesn’t know how to NOT have someone in charge. They all didn’t have as much as responsibilities as the diamonds and the diamonds help shield them from that because, if they are under a lot of pressure, their gems could crack.

I think the Diamonds should somewhat stay in power. If it is true that the Diamonds basically make gems with their say sweat, they are basically mothers. I do think that the same type of thing with Connie's mom needs to happen to them.
I think the diamonds still need to be in power. It is how gemkind is created. They are still AI created for specific tasks, but now they are given freedom to branch off for that original purpose. The diamonds were created as the prime rule for the sections of their society but they can now be lacks about strict classes. Simply because of their design gems may need the diamonds
