The difficulty is why I haven't bought this game yet. It looks amazing and I'm interested in the story. The jobs seem super fun to play around with. But soulslikes are just not my kind of thing. I still got it on my wishlist though, and I'm hoping it'll reach €20 at some point, because I'd be willing to give it a go at that point. The DLC is probably a no-go for me due to the difficulty requirement. It kind of baffles me that there's a story mode in the main game, and then the DLC requires you to play on hard.
Good video but I have to point this out. Extra mode was in the post-game from the jump(at least on console) because I was able to use it before any of the DLC was released
Combat mechanics are 10/10 loot isnt bad if you played nioh2 and. The added QOL with transfering effects. The main flaw with the game is the lack of enemies and bosses. Dlc added 6 bosses and 1 explorable map. The level design was thoughtful but after that it seems like they just wanted to be done with this game asap. Just look at Nioh 2 and Wo long's dlc. ( TMJ is a worse labyrinth but both games added new weapons, and outfits, multple maps, atleast 2 bosses, and new mobs with every dlc. SOP just got 2 bosses each and an endless mode.
To this day I haven't actually engaged with the DLC. I greatly enjoyed the regular game despite the menu-jank, but the word of mouth regarding the DLC really is a turn-off. Maybe one of these days...

Square-Enix used to barely make bad games, now they barely make good ones, and this ain't one.
You probably just don't like this type of game, to me this game is a cult classic
