Honestly the DLC policy for the total war games is one of the best that I've come across, mostly just because everything from the DLC is added to the game for free for you to play against, let you pick and choose between the ones that you actually want to play as without feeling like you are missing out on anything. Add that to the free updates that come along with each DLC, and it becomes something I can laud CA for. But maybe I just see it that way because I play paradox games, who can say.

Over 1000 hours of my life plunged into this game and I don't regret a single minute of it. Absolutely outstanding game. I understand, and somewhat agree, with your point on the DLC, Zade. But I also must say that the every penny I spent on the DLC is worth it. Sure, if you join the train late and end up having to catch up with people, it's expensive, but I bought this in 2017 and have never got bored of it. To me, that makes the DLC worth it.
Tww2 is the best total war game IMO. There is such a focus on the battles, its amazing. The ONLY thing that sucks is the campaign isnt a little more complicated like 3 kingdoms. I love 3 kingdoms campaign but hate the battles because there is no variety. I love tww2 battles because there are an insane number of units that are visibly and act differently, but the fucking campaign map is lame af in comparison compared to the tactical options in combat. TWW3 BETTER COMBINE BOTH FUCK
I would say that warhammer 2 is the best of modern total war: it's a good arcade game but it's not tactically deep. Where earlier TW games rewarded balanced armies that used a mix of units, warhammer 2 popularized the concept of doomstacks
Always good to see more Warhammer coverage! Good job Zade! Buuut... A word about DLC. If you dont like something - dont buy it, since you "have" them in-game anyway. Computer player in Campaign have access to all new units, all new heroes etc. So you can focus on 1-2 fractions that you like. And amount of work in this DLC is amazing, since with every one comes a biiig changes to game itself. Which you still get for free!
Rewatched this review, and your change request came true! WH3 now has full map for free, and one can just buy specific faction DLC rather than every single game required.
Yeah, I agree that this is the best TW. It just feels way more interesting to play somehow. Traditionally, I‘ve always stuck to the Rome games, and usually just played as a handful of the factions. TWII I‘ve played over 800 hours, with a different faction every time. Haven‘t even gotten to the Lizardmen, Skaven, or any human factions, Dwarves or Orcs. Forget about the Norsca, Beastmen or Demons. I‘ve only even started my first Campaign as the Tomb Kings (and damn, they are a headache, try fighting even just a small stack of Dwarven Infantry with Skeleton Spears and NO ARCHERS!). There‘s just a lot of stuff to do compared to traditional total war games. They really got the maximum mileage out of everything. I do have to agree about the DLC as well though. Even getting just a couple extra races that I was interested in cost me as much as the base game all over again, and while the base game still plenty of content (maybe too much for practical uses), it still feels severely cut down if you don‘t get any of the DLC. Like imagine playing against the Tomb Kings and Pirates for hundreds of hours but never getting to play them because they‘re DLC. And the Tomb Kings are actually pretty expensive. There is just way too much of this game that feels like it needs to be there that‘s locked away in DLCs.
You really can guarantee CA sales. Everything I have ever purchased from CA has been 75% off. And it's not like you run out of content waiting for those sales. Their full prices have always taken the piss.
I just got into Totalwarhammer I, and picked up all its documents for $33. I'm extremely cheap, but if I hold out for a TWH II sale, I'll surprise myself.
"You need to bring units that complement each other." And here I am, looking at the Sisters of Twilight, a Glade Captain sitting behind a tree and 18 units of Hawk Riders and there's only one problem I have. I need to build a "siege equipment" to fly over the walls of a city.
Hello from a fellow Kiwi and subbed. Frigging love Total War: Warhammer II and I'm more of a 40k fan than WHFB, although, I did collect High Elves briefly years back. Also, neat to see the Mandalore cameo! Keep up the great work!
I am just so so so glad that we actually got a genuine high-effort Warhammer Fantasy strategy game, despite the fact that Games Workshop shuttered that universe for the sake of the comparatively incredibly uninteresting Age of Sigmar. I love this setting and I love these games, even in spite of their predatory DLC structure. Remember the times when the gameplay features of an older game were simply included in its iterative sequel and you'd only have to buy the prior release if you wanted to catch up on the story? Yeah, good times. But I guess now that the industry generates way more money than back then - just absolutely ridiculous heaps of it - its just not financially viable to do that anymore... for whatever reason.
In my opinion probably 1 of the best games of alllll time got nearly 2000 hours in the game and I keep coming back for more only issue is siege battles there boring need sorting for warhammer 3 if they do that properly when it comes out later this year wow will probably be best game ever made
Little known fact: 2009 was the biggest year for the total war franchise. Empire, Rome 2 and Attilla all were released during the year. All joking aside, i love your videos and you are my favorite reviewer on UA-cam. Good work dude
Sooo, what are the chances of you covering any of the older Warhammer games? (Shadow of the horned rat, Dark Omen, Mark of Chaos) They might not be really comparable to this one, but would be interesting to hear your thoughts on them.
Great video. I completely agree on making Mortal Empires free for all players (and I am saying that as someone who owns both games - I just want the game to be more accesible for newer players). I would love it if they did a "Steam complete edition" similar to Gladius - Relics of War. It's basically a bulk package of the game and all the DLC at a discount. Whenever a new DLC get's added to Gladius, I can just buy the complete edition again and I get the discount which is a great bonus for owning all the content. As someone who has bought each game and DLC at release to support development I am still able to understand that as a new player this would quickly get daunting with the amount of DLC. I do hope they take some of the advice you gave to make it more accessible. TWW is among the top 3 games for me and I have close to 2k hours playtime inn it and more to come. Unlike you however, I am of the opinion where I want them to keep adding more and more DLC's. The more content I have to enjoy, the better. And I look forward to the next DLC to come after Twisted and Twilight (I am hoping for beastmen DLC!). Maybe if CA could package the DLC's in bundles it would be easier to swallow for newer players? I don't know, I just want more :D Anyway, great review and video. Have a like and subscribe from Norway
Complete agree with the dlc suggestions, that would be the perfect way of marketing it to make it a win win for everyone. Awesome for you to make the video, would be great if the Devs listened.
A big thing about the DLC is that a loooot of it was 'fine' and cheap when you're keeping up with the game from the very beginning buying every DLC one at a time as they arrive. When you're new and see all those price tags... dayum...
Steam says I have 639.5 hours on this game and I still haven't touched more than half the campaigns. As far as bang for your buck goes, I'd say it's worth it. Also shout out to Zade for covering Rise of Nations, a million copies sold and it's still underrated.
Tbh having developed games on my own, 163 bucks for a game this big isn't expensive. In fact, we tend to underpay games. 60 bucks for a new game is quite cheap considering the huge amount of work for delivering that game (considering the game is polished, and not in a Ubisoft/Cyberpunk state) However there should be a pack or at least the possibility for new players to get every DLCs after a while (1-2 years after release) for cheaper. And you should be able to buy factions independently in W2 without having to buy W1
Guys, I have a technical question. For some reason some games -especially on EA Origin i.e C&C remastered- wont create save games on windows. and nowhere to be found a solution for that. Have any of u guys ever met this problem b4? And how to solve it?
The first Warhammer (video game) I played was about merc medieval army and called something like "Year of the Horned Rat". It was a long time ago. By today's standards it was hideous, but by the standards of that day, it was awesome. Personally, I prefer the 40k series (especially the early ones). I will admit the TWW II was very good also. Just not as good as your review. Is it true that your wife writes all your material? Keep up the good work!!! Thanks.
Shadow of the Horned Rat! (And sequel: Dark Omen) I loved those game... would still live them if I could find a way to play them again. Morgan Bernhardt and the Grudgebringers, saving the world from Chaos. I would flip my lid for a mod where you could play them in this iteration.
i will agree that to buy everything (WH1/2 +all DLC's) is expensive (i think i paid over £200) my current play time on both games is over 3000 hours so i would argue that i have found value for my money but some people who dontplay as much may not. My advice wait for a CA sale. Almost everything has a 75% reduction on it. Now if only i could go back in time 4 years and tell myself that lol
It’s unfair in my opinion to say the settings were boring because of historical limitations, if anything it was graphical limitations of the years the older games came out you could make incredible historical maps if they put in the effort with today’s technology. The world is incredibly diverse the Mediterranean alone is so vast and different, if they made a Rome 3 it could be beautiful
DLC model? Did someone say miniatures? As someone who has been fascinated with Warhammer for 30 years, or so, they've always had a "dlc" issue. *why, back in MY day, you'd spend $200 on the single faction, 5000 point army, and have to assemble and paint it yourself. Plus, find someone else willing to do the same, then find a solid 4 hours (or more) to do a single battle. In fact, if there is any kind of sale this Christmastide, I think you've convinced me it is worth buying TWH II to go with my TWH I. PS: Khazrak the One Eye is totally worth his cost.
Great video buddy. I do not own Warhammer II or Warhammer I, but have been enjoying watching videos on them lately. Thanks for your review helping me decide if the games are worth it for me. Also, great part towards the end in offering a solution to an issue that exists. I can always appreciate when someone offers a solution and doesn't just complain about problems! Good video and I really appreciate your thoughts.
Me and some friends all got Total War Warhammer 2 during a sale, and weren’t fans. The Vortex campaign didn’t really engage us, and we couldn’t convince ourselves that buying Warhammer 1 for the Mortal Empires campaign was worth it. Big mistake, recently we grabbed it up during a sale and have been playing the shit out of it.
Dang, that's a shame. Were you able to use steams refund policy? Sounds like a good use case, except I could definitely imagine it taking more than 2 hours to grasp if a total war game is right for you!
Zade We couldn’t refund, so it sat in our steam libraries for a while. But after getting Mortal Empires, we’ve all put at least another 100 hours into the game.
First of all: great review! Really enjoyed it and the Mandalore cameo was a fun surprise. May I ask: How did you fix the Free-LC issue? I encountered it a while ago and I haven't been able to resolve it. Thank you for your time and keep up the good work!
I have had limited success with this issue by accessing the Steam store via web browser through the in game links (ie not the steam app) - That is, start up the game click the dlc you want to launch a web browser of the steam website. Log in and try purchase it that way. Then close your game to let DLC install and start it back up. It is still finicky but over time I have managed to get all of the free DLC packs except the latest one.
For people repelled by the amount of DLC (like I was), there are sales all the time. If you only buy TW:WH2 you already have a great game with tons of content, and from there you could snatch whatever DLC you want for the price of a cheeseburger.
I don’t think the dlc model is that bad all strategy games suffer from large amounts of dlc. I think CA does a lot better then other companies when it comes to this as well as almost all dlc arrive with a free legendary lord (some of the free ones are actually the some of the best campaigns in the game) The content form dlc’s are also always in the game for the ai to use so if you don’t buy a race pack you can still fight against them in battle which means even if you only buy the base game the world still feels full and diverse
Apart of the upcoming Old World from Forgeworld and other videogames, TWW is the final stand of a tabletop game that has some serious character. Edit: I STILL WANT DWARFS FOR VORTEX CAMPAIGN. Edit2: My gripes is how they handled provinces and diplomacy. Province managing is too simplified and limiting, while in case of diplomacy people NEED that province trading.
If you ask me $1,000 for all 3 TW with all DLCs is really solid value. Yeah I get it not everyone is rich. But being broke is no excuse to devalue a product. Kind of like how the vast majority of people can't afford a Jaguar. In my case I waited 7 years to play TW WH1. Steep cost. Every bit satisfying. It's not a series that you can just play and forget about.
loved the video but As someone who has sunk a pointless amount of time into this game (over 500hrs) I personally believe the monetization model and dlc (except for the blood tax) style makes sense for the most part since they put a lot of work and effort into making wh1 and making the mortal empires campaign work which people wouldn't know unless they got wh2 around when it was released and mortal empires was released several months late cause stitching the map together was a massive ball ache and that being the case, you can't have any dlc faction from wh1 without owning wh1 as they would have no where to start or anything of the sort. It is a little greedy but no one likes not getting paid for something they spent months or years on.
I didn't understand your issue with WH1 DLC availability at first lol... Because why would someone want to buy DLC for mortal empires if they don't even have access to it to begin with!
@@Zade_95 No I totally get you, and agree wholeheartedly! It's just that was the first point you brought up! Maybe I'm just dumb, but it didn't click until you mentioned it further... Fantastic video btw. Fanboy-ey enough to show TW:WH lots of love... but not too much to overlook the flaws!
on the faction selection screen, of a AAA release full price game... it has factions flagged as "FREE"... whoa. that just sais it all right there. EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FREE ONCE YOU ACTUALLY PURCHASE THE GAME!! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!? Yeah... I love Warhammer. I don't give two fucks about these greed infested abominations they call games. What they really are is money-milking platforms. Screw everyone involved with the decisions to make this what it is.
You've got a good point about the DLC stuff, but I think it's too late for that shit now. That would be like CA spitting in the face of the fans that have stayed with the game since the beginning, bought everything at launch for full price to support it and now new players are getting massive discounts and also don't have to buy the original. Plenty of people can hold resentment over these things. It's one of the reasons that CA was having difficulties with making additional content for DLC races like the Wood Elves and Beastmen. Might be something the can implement in three, even something they have to do if they want new players, but I don't see it happening at the moment.
Compared to what you'd pay to play with the irl tt version of this game, I think the total warhammer franchise is a damn good steal especially on a sale.
I let out an audible "Hell yeah!" when Mandalore came on. Fuck the avengers, this is the crossover I've always wanted. What's next, TehSnakerer?? Also, perfect timing, cause in Friday a friend is giving me a computer that's not a shitty old laptop, so guess what just jumped to the top of the list of games??
I thought it's dumb at first, and thought the magic is goofy and didn't use it....well here I'm planning to continue my dark elf very hard campaign later today, with flying fire sorceress making grilled lizard kebabs lol
I know I will be accused of being a CA shill but hear me out: I appreciate the fact that buying all the content for TWWH1+2 is quite expensive, I really do. But at some point one has to take a step back and ask a second question: Is there value for money? Or: Do I get my money's worth? If the answer to this question is "yes," then there shouldn't be a problem. I always look at it like this, if I got 1 hour of fun for 1 buck paid, I am fine. For TWWH1+2 that is ~1260h for ~230€, so ~5.5h per 1€. Which I am happy with.
Hmmm, I think TW:W3 will be shrunk down, focusing on the rebooted Warhammer franchise, Age of Sigmar. GW will probably push this like they did for seemingly odd changes in DOW3. Sins of a solar empire, though...that's a name I haven't heard in a very long time.
One thing to note is that Warhammer Total war has the worst siege battles of any total war game since total war had siege battles. The basic settlements in Rome total war led to more exciting siege battles than a fully developed citadel in Warhammer total war 😬
Ah yes. The DLC. I don't have to worry about being overwhelmed because I buy them when they come out, so I often forget about that negative part. The dlc for Warhammer 1 is really expensive because they included mini campaigns, something they stopped doing afterwards because they realized it was stupid. The idea was good but the execution was boring.
@@Zade_95 Do you get anything for it? Like do you have an affiliate link or something like that? If so I'll buy it now for my collection otherwise I'll hold off until I have time to play it :p
I watched Mandalore's vid on TW:WH 2 and really wanted to check it out. I played the campaign on 'EASY' and the game constantly kicked my ass, while it's pretty straight forward to understand how to play skirmishes (after watching TONS of tutorials), I still don't have much of a waypoint or idea what to do in the campaign, should I keep exploring with my main army? What If someone will attack my base? I didn't feel the game encourages you to explore when one mistake could destroy your army and strongholds... mind you... this is on EASY. Another thing that was kinda disappointing, most videos and reviews will give you the impression that you get to sit back a bit and watch the incredible animations. You need to be at the ready to constantly click on units back and forward, attack and retreat, move units around to make sure you're not flanked, make sure non of your units are just standing and doing nothing (which happens a lot if you're not keeping attention), You'll be constantly under pressure of managing many units which - you'd expect fight automatically and target enemies correctly, but for most of the time I find myself just babysitting each and every unit, really ain't that fun. Finally if you want all the content for this game you'd have to pay a lot... even if it's all discounted, I get it that there's lot's of content but the price is just surreal, I suggest for newcomers to get the base game at first, and if you'd like it get the other content gradually. This video inspired me to try playing it again, but I wish this game was more friendly to new players and way easier on lower difficulties.
I know it's late, but once you figure out the game these things go away - for example I was playing vampires, figured I'll just take my first full province and sit back developing it, while trying to get some xp for the lord. Then I figured I can just use army full of grave guard, with that vampire super death spell wiping out enemies when armies start fighting, so combat becomes pretty straight forward. What I'm saying it becomes pretty simple and fun once you figure it out lol
I'm all for being pro-consumer and I don't know how CA's monetary stream actually is. But considering the constant development not on one but 3 games (maybe more if we consider they're developing warhammer 3 too atm) you have to get your money somewhere. Is the blood pack dlc bullshit? of course, still haven't bought those because fuck that. But I have all DLC on my wishlist at all times and they often enough go in sale to 50% (never really higher). I would never suggest buying all DLC at the same time anyway because you can only experience one at a time unless you're just playing multiple campaigns at the same time. The mortal empire issue could definitely be better, having to own both games as a complete new player is off putting and hopefully they reconsider this for warhammer 3. I find it hard to say that CA is anti-consumer for all the constant work and content we get. All the updates to the games are free. The bigger faction DLC's you have to pay for yes but if they update a race you don't have to buy their latest lord pack to experience the changes or new units. This is not a good discussion to have on youtube comments. Good vid anyway man, I just find it hard to say their DLC's are completely anti consumer. But I'm def biased and have patience and play too much
Solid points! There's definitely worse options for consumers out there, for sure. Personally I'd like it to be better, but I can understand the rationalizations. Appreciate you watching, and thanks!
After playing a couple TW Games, iam not interested in their Games anymore. They all play the same, which is not a bad thing. TW a great and i can suggest them to someone who never played it but is interested in RTS's. After a while the Gameplay gets very repetitive a cross all TW Titles. But said that, if they going to make a 40K TW, iam getting it without thinking a second.
So many Steam sales have gone by where I've obsessively read about Warhammer 2 to find out how to get into it. Tbh, this shitty DLC structure and how you actually need Warhammer 1 and all the overwhelming info stops me from buying it every time. This happened as well with the Autumn sale that ended yesterday
Damn, I also had the same Free-LC issue with WH1! I can't recall if I ever resolved it (I'm sure I did) but I don't believe I actually did anything, it just either worked one day or it magically fixed itself when I switched to a new gaming machine... I think this is a more common issue than many may realise, it would certainly harm CA and their revenue if so. GOLD FOR THE COIN GOD AND NOTES FOR HIS THRONE (Toilet Roll)
I would not quite call Three Kingdoms traditional, or even that historical, or Warhammer's half year to even at times just about year long dlc dry spells frequent, but I catch your drift :p
It's.. Hmm.. People are split on it, I'm on the side of not being too fond of the new town building, the new generals mechanic or the lack of agents, though it's probably got the best diplomacy in TW and the fights are alright in records mode. Shogun 2'll always have a special place in the heart of 'best balance of old and new TW' for me
It feels the most polished, in my opinion, but yeah-- Play 3 Kingdoms when you get to it! Play games to have fun and all that, don't let folk like me discourage anything with our grumpy rambling. Also, watching the video while writing. I did not expect Mandy in there, not gonna lie. It's been a nice video to watch so far~ Also-also, the labratory bit is making me want to suggest watching its official trailer, or to watch the Skaven Scribe and goblin shaman reacting to their trailers. CA does good trailers for their Warhammer games, I feel
When you watching your small content creator and then a big fish came out of that video. When Will Age Of Sigmar be out? We need our space marine Lizardmen
Also looking at it did you really expect a game that has 3 years worth of dlc and each one stand alone being really good did you really expect it to be a low price?
@@Zade_95 ya i will say that i agree with your discount idea with each purchase gets a discount on the next is a great idea. Rewatched this review, and your change request came true! WH3 now has full map for free, and one can just buy specific faction DLC rather than every single game required.
One major complaint missing. Insane load times unless you spend more money on a SSD Drive. Its criminal.
get better pc then
Yeah, I agree that this is the best TW.
How the hell does Mandalore always find himself guest starring in other people videos so often?
He's a generous dude, what can I say
You really can guarantee CA sales. Everything I have ever purchased from CA has been 75% off. And it's not like you run out of content waiting for those sales. Their full prices have always taken the piss.
I just got into Totalwarhammer I, and picked up all its documents for $33.
I'm extremely cheap, but if I hold out for a TWH II sale, I'll surprise myself.
This video lacks a sufficient bashing of the siege system
I've got this one as a present to play co-op campaign with my friends. Best thing that happened to me this year.
"You need to bring units that complement each other."
And here I am, looking at the Sisters of Twilight, a Glade Captain sitting behind a tree and 18 units of Hawk Riders and there's only one problem I have.
Thanks mate! Always nice to see another NZer around
I have been playing total war since the first shogun and had never heard of warhammer but after playing total warhammer it has become my go-to.
Lmao yes i ran into some issues i may have not noticed 😂 ty ty
You, Mandalore and Sseth are God damn UA-cam legends ❤️
and a wild Mandalore appears! fantastic.
there he is!
Sooo, what are the chances of you covering any of the older Warhammer games? (Shadow of the horned rat, Dark Omen, Mark of Chaos) They might not be really comparable to this one, but would be interesting to hear your thoughts on them.
I'd say there's a chance for sure, sometime down the line! I'm slowly getting sucked into the lore, so it's definitely a possibility...
I don't know, I just want more :D
Anyway, great review and video. Have a like and subscribe from Norway
Bruh! This is just what I needed to take a break from my tournament analysis work!
What I learned from this video: every Total War game was released in 2009.
Oh and also warhammer 2 seems pretty cool.
great comment :P
crazy how they made so many games in one year
Complete agree with the dlc suggestions, that would be the perfect way of marketing it to make it a win win for everyone.
Awesome for you to make the video, would be great if the Devs listened.
Thank you!
Great summary and I 100% with your comments regarding the DLC setup. A friend of mine recently bought in and it horrified him how much it all cost!
Thanks! I bet he has been having fun though 😅
A big thing about the DLC is that a loooot of it was 'fine' and cheap when you're keeping up with the game from the very beginning buying every DLC one at a time as they arrive. When you're new and see all those price tags... dayum...
very well done!! loved the cameo!!
Thanks mate, appreciate it!
60 bucks for a new game is quite cheap considering the huge amount of work for delivering that game (considering the game is polished, and not in a Ubisoft/Cyberpunk state)
However there should be a pack or at least the possibility for new players to get every DLCs after a while (1-2 years after release) for cheaper.
I did not know that Empire, Attila and Rome2 came out the same year. What a release shedule that is lmao. 2009 was wild
:P
The first Warhammer (video game) I played was about merc medieval army and called something like "Year of the Horned Rat". It was a long time ago. By today's standards it was hideous, but by the standards of that day, it was awesome. Personally, I prefer the 40k series (especially the early ones). I will admit the TWW II was very good also. Just not as good as your review. Is it true that your wife writes all your material? Keep up the good work!!! Thanks.
Early 40k games are sick - I'm with ya! LOL no she does not... she's not much of a gamer really. Plays Animal Crossing, that's about it!
Shadow of the Horned Rat! (And sequel: Dark Omen)
I loved those game... would still live them if I could find a way to play them again.
Morgan Bernhardt and the Grudgebringers, saving the world from Chaos.
I would flip my lid for a mod where you could play them in this iteration.
@@rhoetusochten4211 You can buy a refurbished PS2 ,which has a PS1 mode and play it on that. I am sure you can download or buy the game on disk.
i will agree that to buy everything (WH1/2 +all DLC's) is expensive (i think i paid over £200) my current play time on both games is over 3000 hours so i would argue that i have found value for my money but some people who dontplay as much may not.
My advice wait for a CA sale. Almost everything has a 75% reduction on it.
Now if only i could go back in time 4 years and tell myself that lol
This game i super oofda. 10/10
THERE HE IS
It’s unfair in my opinion to say the settings were boring because of historical limitations, if anything it was graphical limitations of the years the older games came out you could make incredible historical maps if they put in the effort with today’s technology. The world is incredibly diverse the Mediterranean alone is so vast and different, if they made a Rome 3 it could be beautiful
No one expects Mandy cameo!!!
Never expected, always appreciated!
Thanks mate! Means a lot. Glad to hear I can help, and if you pick it up I hope you enjoy!
Im glad to hear that, got your money's worth!
First of all: great review! Really enjoyed it and the Mandalore cameo was a fun surprise.
May I ask: How did you fix the Free-LC issue? I encountered it a while ago and I haven't been able to resolve it.
Thank you for your time and keep up the good work!
Thank you! Lol, I didn't actually! I never solved it, still missing 10 or so lords because I can't find a way to claim that works 😰
@@Zade_95 Aww man. I really thought I'd get to check out Imrik afterall. Oh well.
Looking forward to the RA3 video!
It's odd, some work for me (like imrik) others (like brettonia) just won't. Sigh 😰
I'll try it out later today! Will report back, cheers
For people repelled by the amount of DLC (like I was), there are sales all the time. If you only buy TW:WH2 you already have a great game with tons of content, and from there you could snatch whatever DLC you want for the price of a cheeseburger.
Nice inclusion of Mangalore. Love his stuff.
good lad
Mandy! You brought Mandy along!
The gangs all here!
You got your wish!
@@tada-kun982 Yeah...but sadly Thorek didn't come with Runic Units. And the Yolked Carnosaur isn't enough.
What manner of savage combines coffee and popcorn
MEEEEE
loved the video but As someone who has sunk a pointless amount of time into this game (over 500hrs) I personally believe the monetization model and dlc (except for the blood tax) style makes sense for the most part since they put a lot of work and effort into making wh1 and making the mortal empires campaign work which people wouldn't know unless they got wh2 around when it was released and mortal empires was released several months late cause stitching the map together was a massive ball ache and that being the case, you can't have any dlc faction from wh1 without owning wh1 as they would have no where to start or anything of the sort. It is a little greedy but no one likes not getting paid for something they spent months or years on.
Best total war game bar none.
I agree! 🙌
I didn't understand your issue with WH1 DLC availability at first lol... Because why would someone want to buy DLC for mortal empires if they don't even have access to it to begin with!
You're right - maybe I should've been clearer in that. My argument was empires should be free regardless, then you buy whichever dlc you like :)
Yeah, maybe. I hope they tie it all up nicely somehow for Warhammer 3, but it's not the easiest of jobs thats for sure
Compared to what you'd pay to play with the irl tt version of this game, I think the total warhammer franchise is a damn good steal especially on a sale.
LUL true enough!
Heeey I sure wasn't expecting mandaloregaming to pop up
I let out an audible "Hell yeah!" when Mandalore came on. Fuck the avengers, this is the crossover I've always wanted. What's next, TehSnakerer??
Also, perfect timing, cause in Friday a friend is giving me a computer that's not a shitty old laptop, so guess what just jumped to the top of the list of games??

TOTAL WAR: DLCHAMMER II
We'll find out pretty soon, me thinks
ah the dlc is expensive that shall not be an issue for we shall now set sail on the seven seas
>:)
I remember that! Yeah I get that mindset, it's far more noticeable when you're joining late and needing to buy it all at once
@@Zade_95 Like with every single Paradox game.
So I've heard! Don't have personal experience, but some of my mates never stop complaining about it lul

Just bought on sale on steam 20 $ .iam super excited!
Enjoy mate!
I get that, it's pretty overwhelming for new players, but it's rewarding when you figure it all out. Thank you for watching!
Hm...is it worth to buy Warhammer I ? Or should I just buy this one?
Get this one imo, if you like it you can buy WH1 to get it races to use is WH2 :)
Another awesome video
Cheers Rob! Appreciate it
Good vid
Thanks!
But I'm def biased and have patience and play too much
fuck I feel like an EA fanboy defending battle front 2 (or any other EA game)
Solid points! There's definitely worse options for consumers out there, for sure. Personally I'd like it to be better, but I can understand the rationalizations.
Appreciate you watching, and thanks!
You didn’t attend to the economic classes didn’t you?
i'm sorry?
After playing a couple TW Games, iam not interested in their Games anymore.
They all play the same, which is not a bad thing. TW a great and i can suggest them to someone who never played it but is interested in RTS's.
After a while the Gameplay gets very repetitive a cross all TW Titles.
But said that, if they going to make a 40K TW, iam getting it without thinking a second.
The only Turnbased strategy i play. I prefer real time, but Knights of Honor has a tendency to crash every now and then.
My relationship with Warhammer 2 is strange, to start off with i didn't like it, eventually i loved it and now i'm back to not liking it as much.
Ups and downs :P
Glad to hear it's not just me! (Sort of 🤔) I never did find out a way to fix it
If only this game had naval battles and better siege battles
I would not quite call Three Kingdoms traditional, or even that historical, or Warhammer's half year to even at times just about year long dlc dry spells frequent, but I catch your drift :p
Hah fair enough, maybe not if you have romance mode on! I still need to actually play three kingdoms, lol
It's.. Hmm.. People are split on it, I'm on the side of not being too fond of the new town building, the new generals mechanic or the lack of agents, though it's probably got the best diplomacy in TW and the fights are alright in records mode. Shogun 2'll always have a special place in the heart of 'best balance of old and new TW' for me
I too love Shogun 2, there's just something about it... Either way, keen to try Three Kingdoms someday!
It's been a nice video to watch so far~
Also-also, the labratory bit is making me want to suggest watching its official trailer, or to watch the Skaven Scribe and goblin shaman reacting to their trailers. CA does good trailers for their Warhammer games, I feel
This is just me, but if I want to play something with that friend that doesn't have enough disposable income... I buy it for him :))

Also looking at it did you really expect a game that has 3 years worth of dlc and each one stand alone being really good did you really expect it to be a low price?
Honestly, maybe. Or at least offer a path for consumers to buy it all without paying an obscene amount of money
@@Zade_95 ya i will say that i agree with your discount idea with each purchase gets a discount on the next is a great idea.
