I wish reviewers were a bit more precise with their expressions, because I noticed something quite annoying watching this, as I recently watched the Nothing Phone 1 review, again by GSMArena. This is what I’m talking about - same guy reviewing both phones: S23 review: The S23 was able to earn an endurance rating of 101 hours, an excellent showing! NP1 review: The Nothing Phone was able to score a good endurance rating of 108 hours. Anyone who’s watching those videos and does not have a lot of context, will leave the S23 video with the feeling that it has great battery life, and the NP1 video thinking that it’s just OK. While in reality, the NP1 scored 7 hours more in the same standardised test. Of course, real world conditions vary and here is when all hell breaks loose, but when it comes to reviewing phones and commenting battery life based on a standardised test, the reviewer should be paying more attention to the way he delivers the information.
You do realise that the Nothing Phone uses a weaker mid-range processor while the S23 uses the newest flagship one which still consumes more battery. Also, the Nothing Phone 1 has 4500 mah while the S23 only has 3900, this makes the endurance rating of the S23 better than the Nothing Phone, given the circumstances.
@@kbtriplesix Yes, I do realise this, but it won't be obvious to the people I'm talking about. Besides that, GSMArena's battery endurance test is meant to show what battery life you can expect from your device, in different tasks. And if somebody leaves with the understanding that he'd get wose battery life on the NP1 than on the S23 (for example, although those phones are in a different price category), this means that the reviews mislead him a lot.

Feeling pretty torn between the S23+ and the Pixel 7 Pro. Mostly because of the display differences; 1080p vs 1440p. I just see the S23+ as an all around better phone. I understand the Pixel 7 Pro significantly cheaper as well
I can only say I had the galaxy S 22+ and I returned it because of the screen as I had a S 20+ and you could see the difference in the resolution I know some people can’t but I could so it made a difference to me, so if you can see the difference if you’re one of those people like me where that will bug you then maybe don’t get the S 23+

I am no the fence now. I want to downscale from my Fold 3 to the S23 but I think I might wait for the S24 as it is not that far away and my Fold haven't become a prominent issue yet.

@pixels7705 yeah i just wonder for how much longer they will continue making phone's with them. I have been looking at sony for awhile but the price and software updates have kept me away so far.
It would be a shame to see the plus model discontinued. They need to bump up the spec for the price jump besides better battery and screen otherwise they need to keep the line up. Only problem is that pixel 7 pro is cheaper and better
I bought recently S23 for some reasons but not anyone Samsung phone will have true colours like Sony Xperia phones . Xperia is really amazing phone, series Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 .

Why are these reviewers ignoring the vibration test? This is a huge factor for me. Will I feel it in my pocket when someone calls? Is it loud while lying in desk? How is the haptics while typing?
It's bad. I miss 90% of notifications. I didn't know, this can even be an issue in a phone. 1k phone and useless vibration mode. I'm very disapointed at Samsung.

The S23 was able to earn an endurance rating of 101 hours, an excellent showing!
NP1 review:
The Nothing Phone was able to score a good endurance rating of 108 hours.
@@LooneyTo0n to which people? the one watching the reviews? they name the processor, how efficient and they also name the battery capacity i dont get your point
Shame they cancelled the sd card slot & the headphones slot
I am so tempted to switch my s21 to s23. Better battery life is just so so tempting for me. Ever since having S21 I have experience a battery drop of at least 20% overnight. But the phone is not cheap and I don't like to burden myself with another installment.
You can wait another year, even if you have the S10 you can wait to upgrade, this is a huge upgrade for people coming from the S9 and older, trust me, I switched my phone every year since the S20 beacuse they give good trade in values and the improvement are small, this year I'm going to keep my S22 cause for the first time the trade in values are awful
@@jamalonso2360 Unfortunately the trade in offers will be the same next year and the prices for S24 will go up since the price has been the same for the past 3 years now
@@Young_Dab yes but in my case I have the S22+ green 256gb and I want the base S23 cause I like compact phones but Samsung is only giving me $350 in trade value,in this particular cause I will rather keep my phone instead of paying $450 plus taxes for the regular S23 that is not much better than my S22+
@@jamalonso2360 I'm in Australia and I have traded in my Galaxy S22 plus 256G for 520 A$ plus 200 A$ Bonus credit, so totally 750 A$(about US $520 ). In the end, I paid 629 A$($436) plus 150A$ e voucher.
Some people care more about performance and battery life. They should definitely upgrade to the s23 series
Pre-ordered mine yesterday. Can't wait for it to arrive!
67k for 256gb model right?
@@khatrii 57k. but promo in moa, pay for 128 get 256. :)
Do you like it?
Considering buying this. Coming from iphone SE from 2016 so it's an okay step up I would say :-)
Go for it, you will love it!
Hello,
I checked both of your videos. S23 and Xiaomi 13. Planning to buy one of them, but cannot choose :(
My most important aspects are:
- quality of the daylight & indoor photos
- reliability
- on time security and software updates
- gaming, charging speed, Miui or Oneui not important
Considering these facts, which one do you suggest?
I most like the Xiaomi 13 size, but I think the photos are better with S23 right?
S23 destroys the xiaomi 13
@@LAMB-CHOPPY-CHOPPY Hi. I ordered the S23, but I am afraid from the pictures will be worse than Xiaomi 13. When I had the Xiaomi 11, it took better pictures than the S22, when I compared it to my friend"s S22. Interesting...
im still using my note 8. Wondering if the upgrade is worth it now.
same im using the note 9. reaaaaally want to upgrade.
@@clumsysilence my note 8 still works perfectly, other than the battery life, which makes it hard to justify getting a new phone. But who knows how long until other components start failing?
Always look forward to your reviews! 😎👍
that was important the battery improved. it went backwards in the s22 from the s21 which was strange.
I have the S21 Exynos version and the battery life is terrible....so the S22 was even worse, oh dear.
What about haptic feedback?
Same as s22 😢
Planned obsolescence. 8 GB of RAM was standard for 2018 flagship phones.
Got mine today $400 USD Samsung boxing sale . Great price
what's the name of the skiteboard game in 3:55
Please do a S23 Vs iPhone 14
What are the games he's playing on the video? The NBA and the skating ones?
You said there is a S23 512GB version *time frame 2.41 / 2.42. This is not true
Why hiding right thumb 🤔
Is s23 screen totally flat?
is it Water-proof or water resistent?
Of course
Hi. I have the S23 ultra and believe it or not but I'm thinking of selling it to get the vanilla. The Ultra is just too big and heavy. It does have good sound though both speakers and headphones. Can you let me know what you think about the sound from the base S23? Thank you.
Sound is amazing and loud. Crisp with no distortion. It's honestly the Samsung's version of the iPhone. It's my daily driver.
Got mine today and wow. This thing looks nice af. And it was great to have the 25W charger in the box.
Long live the Brazilian consumer protection agencies
Broo youre camera test videos are in Bulgaria 😁 nice my country
Everyone being dissapointed that it doesnt have the Ultra's features. While i will be upgrading to this phone from my A30s 🙃
Where did you get the bookshelf in the back of your video??
I can’t wait to get my S23+ in a week!!!!
The 512GB option is only available for the S23+ not the regular S23
It's available in some countries, like here in Korea
Also, I have the 512gb version now. Hope to keep it for many years.
Feeling pretty torn between the S23+ and the Pixel 7 Pro. Mostly because of the display differences; 1080p vs 1440p.
I just see the S23+ as an all around better phone. Faster charging, better built-in features, will have better trade-in value down the line, better design both aesthetically and how they feel…so.
S23 plus is overpriced. At that point just get the ultra
Pixel 7 pro is facing build quality issues, might wanna check out some reddit threads
Pixel 7 Pro seems to have the better trade in deals right now and is on sale too
pixel 7 pro is powered by tensor g2 which is more or less an exynos chip. if you want all the cons of the exynos chips, then go for it
Thanks for the review! (My man, that looks like you slammed the door on your thumb, ouch)
I wish there was a pixel phone similar to this size. Like pixel 6 or 7 :)
6a
Wait for the 7a coming later this year, or Just buy the 6a right now...
@@fightnight14 6a is still bigger than the regular s23
I love the design. So simple & elegant
Is it a good upgrade from the Galaxy S10?
It's is indeed. This is the best one to upgrade from S10
Thanks for the thorough yet succinct review. More importantly, how is your thumb doing?
Does the S23 still have camera blur issue
Did you do the test with the 128 go version ? would UFS 3.1 have an impact on battery life?
The ssd is 2x slower on 128GB definitely buy 256GB! Don’t go cheap
I am confused which one better to buy this time.
Samsung S23 ora Asus Zenfone 9
I am a little bit worry about the battery on S23. I heard Zenfone 9's battery is amazing, but they only give 2 years update.
Need some advice please
S23 eye's closed
Is it worth the upgrade from the Galaxy A71 that I've been using for 3 years 🤔
Yup. S series are way better then A series
it is worth an upgrade. But also consider your budget, how much you're willing to pay and how much of a difference it would make in your life.
@@aseemsharan yup never go out of your budget that's not going to change ur life.
Same! I'm also using my a71 till now bought on October 2020 I want to upgrade to s23+
@flixbox went from s9 june 30 2018 and only recently got the s22 plus and the upgrade was crazy.
Thanks so much for the video! Could you please let me know if the galaxy S23 has dual sim slot for sure in the UK? If it has a slot for two physical nano sims, can I use a nano sd card in the slot to expand the storage? Thanks so much in advance! 😊
I think currys or argos states it
Dear Team ..
Please review soon on S22 plus and S 23 Ultra
Can anyone tell me what's the rally game he is playing in this video? @3:35
that's CarX Rally
@@zaxele OK thanks
Does the Galaxy S23 doesn't have an OIS system for even the main camera!!???
Dude can you also record gameplay on it?
Just pre booked my 256gb unit...the 128gb unit is a gimmick, doesn't have ufs 4.0 and lpddr5x storage.
How am I able to watch you guys videos on minimized mode on UA-cam but not others?
thank you so much for making a review on the standard s23. all ive been able to find is reviews for the ultra but i just want a small phone again
I got a S23 today I'm so excited!
Like?
1:52 damn i hope your thumb is ok
I am no the fence now. I want to downscale from my Fold 3 to the S23 but I think I might wait for the S24 as it is not that far away and my Fold haven't become a prominent issue yet.
i really need to upgrade phones having galaxy s8 its on its last yr
but i really want a galaxy with expandable memory but that eras gone
Get the s23 if u like Samsung
I know i went from an s8 to a s20 because my s 8 finally died and sadly it will probably be one of the last phone's i buy with a micro sd card slot and that really sucks because i have had a sd card for so many year's that it's gonna be hard to live without.
Asus and Sony still make flagships with expandable storage.
@pixels7705 yeah i just wonder for how much longer they will continue making phone's with them. I have been looking at sony for awhile but the price and software updates have kept me away so far.
@Jay Thompson I am upgrading to the S23 from an S8 too and I think I am going to miss the headphone jack the most.
Thanks for this review ☺️ so insightful
It would be a shame to see the plus model discontinued. They need to bump up the spec for the price jump besides better battery and screen otherwise they need to keep the line up. Only problem is that pixel 7 pro is cheaper and better
true this..m really don't get the market for plus..but the small s23 and ultra make sense
The S23 pre-orders are similar to the S23+, so if they cancel the S23+, then the S23 may also be in trouble.
samsung s22 ultra or samsung s23
I bought recently S23 for some reasons but not anyone Samsung phone will have true colours like Sony Xperia phones .
Xperia is really amazing phone, series Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 .
Design is the most important part of S23 and S23+ for me. Looks awesome!
Try capturing any text document pic / close up shots of food etc, you will notice banana shape blur (top mid portion in vertical shots and leftside in landscape shots). Then if you don't regret buying S23, you don't really care about the major defect
One suggestion. Try to add some emotion(intonation) to your voice. It will drastically improve the connection. I have been observing you for so long. Reply me to know more.
Any heating issues while using maps, youtube and social media separately?
Been thinking to upgrade from S9+ to a new phone but cannot decide between S20FE and S23?
s23
I got a UPS tracking number today for my S23+ 512GB from T-Mobile 😱!!!
Someday i will buy this phone, im so inlove with this.., specially the color and size.
