Thoreau not only lived on Walden Pond for 2 yrs and 2 months but he grew up in the town of Concord as well . His family owned a house and ran a small pencil manufacturing business. He built his 1 room house on Walden with permission from Emerson who owned the land and was a friend of his and encouraged his deep dive into the essentials of life in a Transcendentalist way.
*I too went to the Concord museum in Aug 2021. The woman's history room was open as well as the Revolutionary era room but sadly the Thoreau period room was school to open a week later 😔. Oh well , just an excuse to return to beautiful Concord this fall.

Thank you for this video! I have never been able to visit the places the Transcendentalists lived and worked. But you allowed me to see them!

Oh gosh! I'm always worried locals will think I've done a terrible job! But I love watching videos of tourists in my own town, so thanks for reminding me not to be so nervous! haha I should have known how to pronounce it! I spent grad school in Boston so you'd think I'd have learned by now! Whoops! Glad you enjoyed it anyway.

Hi, a big shout out from India. Loved your idea of bringing together book and travel. It never occurred to me to make something like this when I visited this place a few years back. Please keep doing vlogs like this.
