    Dang! And I complain about tuning and setting intonation on my 6 string guitar. I have a whole new respect for you pedal steel players! Those Peterson Strobostomps are GREAT tuners.

      Yep...somewhat complex tuning pedal steel guitars. Love the Peterson tuners.

      The new Emmons guitars are incredible. I would like to have one of them. I own a rebuilt 75 Push Pull and and early 80's LeGrande. Both guitars are awesome however play a little differently in regards to pedal action. Push Pull is more firm and the LeGrande is softer. Tone the Push Pull is rich with a lot of sustain vs tone on the LeGrande is a little brighter with a little less sustain. Bottom line is they are all great models with different characteristics. I enjoy playing both.

    How do you do this with a mini stomp?

    • @shaneframe1
      @shaneframe1  4 місяці тому

      Good question. I spoke with Peterson to confirm the Strobostomp Mini does not come pre loaded with the Pedal Steel Guitar Sweetened tunings. You can go to the Peterson website and download them there. Hope this helps.

    I bought a stroboflip today, but it's not as nearly as good as the newer stroboPlusHD, etc. I screwed up buying it. I don't see all of the tempered tunings I had, with the stroboPlusHD.
    I need to tune to JEFF NEWMAN'S sweetened tuning. I see no separate option for tuning the pedals & knee levers. So, how do I tune the pedals & knees? I'm very confused right now. I should have saved up for a stroboPlusHD again.

      I reviewed the manual for the Stroboflip and only saw 3 tempered tunings for pedal steel. SE9, SC6, and OE9.
      SE9 is what I would use to tune the open strings, pedals, and knee levers for now. That will get you in the ball park. You will have to fine tune your pedals and knee levers by ear or using unison harmonics.
      I have plans to make a tuning video for fine tuning standard E9 pedals and knee levers using unison harmonics. Hope this helps you out.

    The lower holes at the tuner adjust raises and the upper holes at the tuner adjust lower tones.
    IS THIS CORRECT Thanks

    • @shaneframe1
      @shaneframe1  2 місяці тому

      When the guitar is in its normal playing position the lower holes on the changer adjust lowering notes and the upper holes adjust the raised notes. This would apply to a guitar with an all pull changer like the guitar I am using in the video. It is different on a push pull Emmons. I do have a video on adjusting a Push Pull on my channel.

    Bet string 3 is very prone to snapping.

    • @shaneframe1
      @shaneframe1  5 місяців тому

      Agreed that is the string with the highest percentage of breakage.
