www.donnaward.net has a lot of Canadian history resources. We used her course "Courage and Conquest" and it has many suggestions for books to read. We have enjoyed all the books we read. A lot of the books are available on the website as well.
If you are referring to Stories of America and Stories of the Nations, Volumes 1 cover early modern history...approximately 1492 to 1850. You do not need to utilize those resources if you have already covered early modern in your studies.
