Sonya, first and foremost, these videos are absolutely a delight! Very helpful. I would love to see some videos on SEASONAL books for different ages. Winter books, autumn book, spring and summer. Does anyone know of a list/video on these? If so, please share. Our family keeps a home library that is organized by colored sticky dots (yellow=History; green=Science, etc.) but we also keep a Family Book Box where I rotate seasonal books according to each month, season and holidays. Would love some videos on this. Blessings and Happy New Year Mamas!
We're not aware of videos about good living books on each season, but you could search on our free CM Bookfinder: apps.simplycharlottemason.com/resources
Planting a seed of an idea means to give the child an idea, but to let the idea have time for the child to ponder. It's helpful to think of it in terms of planting a seed and letting it grow. You don't force a seed to grow; you can help it by planting it, watering it, and putting it in the sunshine. In the same way, we can't force our children to grow in education, but we can plant ideas and cultivate an atmosphere in our homes that encourages them to grow.
You had me until I saw the FDR book. LOL. I am not too big on socialism, his knowing about the pending attack on Pearl Harbor and not doing anything about it, and the list goes on. :-) It would be interesting to learn about his childhood though. I still love your videos. So much. Thank you for all of the content that you provide. I learn so many vitally important truths from your podcasts. I really appreciate all you do. xoxo
I am having trouble finding a video you posted about teaching foreign language that I thought I watched several months ago....or am I dreaming? If you could direct me to it I would much appreciate it! Thank you!

We recommend these resources for kiddos in grades 1-3. If your 6 year old is ready for 1st grade and some short chapter books, these books should be a wonderful introduction to history for your 6 year old.

Sarah plain and tall was a favorite of mine as a child. That and Keep the lights burning Abby. I loved those 2 books.
Thank you for sharing. I would love to see a video about this same time period for living book selections for older students in middle school grades.
