Back when award shows were fun and no politics. Those were the days.
You know I really loved watching this and was actually feeling great. Regardless of your politics can you just be happy without attacking something?
Can’t we all agree seeing the stars of All in the family, Laverne, Brady, Partridges etc is fantastic! Sorry TV stars have opinions, so do country music stars and athletes. Lighten up.
TV land was always fun, but I disagree with you about other award shows. The George W. Bush era was very political and that did slip into the award shows. Especially after Katrina in 2005 through the recession in 2007/08.
Barry Williams and Maureen McCormick still sing great together.
Sad! It's only 19 years later & so many of the folks on this awards show are no longer with us. But what great memories. As Andy Bernard said, "I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them."

The 50s too. Especially I Love Lucy.

I was just saying that the other day how much I miss my grandmother now and didn't realize she was the greatest person in my life.

Wish Elizabeth Montgomery had been there. She was awesome as Samantha and Serena!!!!! Very missed
I felt that she should have been the winner of that award although I realize they probably chose Barbara since she was living. I love Barbara but always thought Elizabeth as Serena and Samantha was the best dual role.
@@cluvsonj I really don't get why they nominated Elizabeth in the first place especially since she had passed away back in 1995! Posthumous accolades for the deceased are meaningless.
@@Garsons-oq4lh I assume the TVland Awards are different than other award type shows in that the nominees are from shows in the past and Bewitched was a tvland show so naturally it would be included. A lot of actors from those shows have passed away. I feel those awards are more for the fans who are nostalgic and if Elizabeth won which would have been for the character her children could have accepted it on behalf of those fans.
Someone place this show in a time capsule as the very best classic TV tribute show of all-time.
My band played a different TV theme during gigs. One night we played an entire set in rapid fire. Twilight Zone, I Dream Of Jeanie, I Love Lucy, Wonder Woman, Gilligan’s Island, Gidget, Beverly Hillbillies, Love Boat, Brady Bunch, Dick Van Dyke, Bonanza, Green Acres, Andy Griffith, Petticoat Junction, Mission Impossible and Patty Duke Show (if you remember “a hot dog makes her lose control”). Each theme is a short piece of American art that makes people get sentimental.
Sing 2 theme songs from today's shows. You can't.
Ritter was such a great host. This is an actual awards show that is worth watching.
I think he died sometime later that year.
On New Years Eve 2021 we lost our beloved Betty White,. She is going to be truly missed! Rest in Peace sweet, Betty. 🌹
DAMN! This was 20 years ago and since then, many of these folks have since passed away! RIP to all of them.😥😥

Crazy how fast time goes by! Happy New Year 2021. Most of these actors have passed away by now. I miss John Ritter, David Cassidy, Davy Jones, Elizabeth Montgomery, Shirley Jones.

I watched this when it aired and remember thinking to myself that John Ritter didn't look himself, I was worried and then he was just gone :(
That was a huge loss, and he was in his early 50s. We were all fans of Three's Company.
I remember that Knight Rider episode. I used to think the show was so cool. The 80s were awesome.
So many of the people in this clip are gone now. Mary Tyler Moore,John Ritter,David Cassidy,Davey Jones,Don Grady,Penny Marshall.
John Ritter died just 6 months later. so sad. MTM gets me every time. Dick Van Dyke is the greatest of all time- hope he makes it to 200 years old. Barbara Eden looked the same there and is still going strong
I saw Don Adams in the audience as well. He died two years later.

I saw her in a live show at Myrtle Beach about 20 years ago. She's in her 80s now, but she still looks fabulous!
Maureen McCormick put out a country album years ago it's out there online you can hear it she sings really good

I was in the audience for the 2008 TV Land Awards with the cast of Roseanne and others. Lionel Richie performed "All Night Long" live, which had everyone up.
This is amazing ! I love Davy Jones and Maureen Mckormick !!! And the stars singing their own theme songs is such a great opening ! ( But the dancers are showing a tad too much skin for a class event like this ...too much UNnecessary thigh) This is not the beach! And anyway...they would have looked so much sharper...in white pants suits!! The only song that much skin might be appropriate for ...is the theme to Gilligan's Island!

Exactly! exactly the same way I thought and felt about it too. It shows such a disgrace, disrespect, with no class or dignity, and lack of taste, towards what was such a memorable trip back in time.
I bet the Brady kids wish they signed better contracts. They have gotten no residuals for reruns worth billions!

It would have been awesome to see a modern take of “All in the Family “ with Mike and Gloria as the head of their household, living with their son, and todays modern problems.
It would be, but they’d have to ignore that the characters got divorced offscreen when Gloria returned on “Archie Bunker’s Place.”
The closest we got was the short lived 704 Hauser in the '90s.
How I miss this more simple time and these actors and actresses along with every one of these shows when they were new straight off the reel!!!

I began to lose track when counting just the ones who have died since this was filmed. Good TV they provided.

Twins Greg & David (Adam from Bewitched) changed their last names from Lawrence to Mandel. They are said to be the illegitimate sons of Tony Curtis.
I still watch the show it comes on in New Jersey from 8:00 a.m. two episodes till 9:00 a.m. and you were the person I wanted to be. I wanted to live in that family and for whatever reason trust me it brought pleasure and happiness happiness to me my brothers
David sounded good but Shirley Jones didn't sound so great for a trained singer, including on the Partridge Family recordings.

Yeah, no she doesnt. The style is hot, and so is she.
Those women in skimpy outfits kicking up and shaking their rear ends TOOK AWAY the fond memories (nostalgia) that I wanted to watch. I skimmed through it, and felt sick how someone ruined the show with these dancers. They didn't enhance anything.
