Sad! It's only 19 years later & so many of the folks on this awards show are no longer with us. But what great memories. As Andy Bernard said, "I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them."
You know I really loved watching this and was actually feeling great. Regardless of your politics can you just be happy without attacking something? Can’t we all agree seeing the stars of All in the family, Laverne, Brady, Partridges etc is fantastic! Sorry TV stars have opinions, so do country music stars and athletes. Lighten up.
TV land was always fun, but I disagree with you about other award shows. The George W. Bush era was very political and that did slip into the award shows. Especially after Katrina in 2005 through the recession in 2007/08.
If we only really knew how great times were back then and appreciated it more than what we did... but sadly, we all always think the grass is greener on the other side ...
I was just saying that the other day how much I miss my grandmother now and didn't realize she was the greatest person in my life. I miss her and Davy very much 😔💔💔
Crazy how fast time goes by! Happy New Year 2021. Most of these actors have passed away by now. I miss John Ritter, David Cassidy, Davy Jones, Elizabeth Montgomery, Shirley Jones.
I still watch the show it comes on in New Jersey from 8:00 a.m. two episodes till 9:00 a.m. and you were the person I wanted to be. I wanted to live in that family and for whatever reason trust me it brought pleasure and happiness happiness to me my brothers
My band played a different TV theme during gigs. One night we played an entire set in rapid fire. Twilight Zone, I Dream Of Jeanie, I Love Lucy, Wonder Woman, Gilligan’s Island, Gidget, Beverly Hillbillies, Love Boat, Brady Bunch, Dick Van Dyke, Bonanza, Green Acres, Andy Griffith, Petticoat Junction, Mission Impossible and Patty Duke Show (if you remember “a hot dog makes her lose control”). Each theme is a short piece of American art that makes people get sentimental.
I'm really glad he had the honor of hosting the 1st and in my opinion, the best TV Land award show! I watched this when it aired and remember thinking to myself that John Ritter didn't look himself, I was worried and then he was just gone :(
I felt that she should have been the winner of that award although I realize they probably chose Barbara since she was living. I love Barbara but always thought Elizabeth as Serena and Samantha was the best dual role.
@@cluvsonj I really don't get why they nominated Elizabeth in the first place especially since she had passed away back in 1995! Posthumous accolades for the deceased are meaningless.
@@Garsons-oq4lh I assume the TVland Awards are different than other award type shows in that the nominees are from shows in the past and Bewitched was a tvland show so naturally it would be included. A lot of actors from those shows have passed away. I feel those awards are more for the fans who are nostalgic and if Elizabeth won which would have been for the character her children could have accepted it on behalf of those fans.
I came for the Brady Bunch and Davy Jones, and I get Dick Van Dyke, Gilligan’s Island and Six Million Dollar Man!? WOW! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 This 21 year old had a minor meltdown! 😂
I was in the audience for the 2008 TV Land Awards with the cast of Roseanne and others. Lionel Richie performed "All Night Long" live, which had everyone up.
John Ritter died just 6 months later. so sad. MTM gets me every time. Dick Van Dyke is the greatest of all time- hope he makes it to 200 years old. Barbara Eden looked the same there and is still going strong
It would have been awesome to see a modern take of “All in the Family “ with Mike and Gloria as the head of their household, living with their son, and todays modern problems.
This is amazing ! I love Davy Jones and Maureen Mckormick !!! And the stars singing their own theme songs is such a great opening ! ( But the dancers are showing a tad too much skin for a class event like this ...too much UNnecessary thigh) This is not the beach! And anyway...they would have looked so much sharper...in white pants suits!! The only song that much skin might be appropriate for ...is the theme to Gilligan's Island!
Exactly! exactly the same way I thought and felt about it too. It shows such a disgrace, disrespect, with no class or dignity, and lack of taste, towards what was such a memorable trip back in time.

So so true!!!!!
As Billy Joel sang “the good old days weren’t always good and tomorrow ain’t as bad as it seems”
Back when award shows were fun and no politics. Those were the days.

Barry Williams and Maureen McCormick still sing great together.
That opening was a showstopper....smiled throughout the whole segment!
RIP to all the greats who are no longer with us.
Ritter was such a great host. This is an actual awards show that is worth watching.
I think he died sometime later that year.
The wonderful but sad thing about these videos is how many great ones were still with us then. Miss them all.

Classic T.V. shows from the 60s 70s 80s were the BEST.
The 50s too. Especially I Love Lucy.
the best were from the mid 50s to early 70s.
@@johnjarou2357 NAH..late 70s and 80s were great too.
On New Years Eve 2021 we lost our beloved Betty White,. She is going to be truly missed! Rest in Peace sweet, Betty. 🌹
Someone place this show in a time capsule as the very best classic TV tribute show of all-time.
Maureen McCormick aged beautifully! Love Davy Jones and The Monkees.
God Bless Lee Majors for mentioning our men and women of the Armed Forces thank you! SALUTE!!🇺🇸
Crazy how fast time goes by! Happy New Year 2021. Most of these actors have passed away by now. I miss John Ritter, David Cassidy, Davy Jones, Elizabeth Montgomery, Shirley Jones.
and Mary Tyler Moore
Sadness 😦
Shirley Jones is still alive
Shirley Jones is still with us.
WOW! This is the first time I seen this. This is nice all of my childhood tv theme songs. 😊❤
DAMN! This was 20 years ago and since then, many of these folks have since passed away! RIP to all of them.😥😥
This was great
Sad so many have passed
This is one of the best things on the internet.
I never knew such an award existed. Very nice. I have to watch TV land more.

Maureen McCormick put out a country album years ago it's out there online you can hear it she sings really good
Love all those TV themes
This made me smile!
Awesome memories!! My childhood was even happier because of these honored shows😂😂❤️❤️
How I miss this more simple time and these actors and actresses along with every one of these shows when they were new straight off the reel!!!
This is one of the few award shows that was worth watching, so sorry they don't do it any longer.
I loved this! Brings back so many wonderful memories. Just wonderful :)
This is when TV Land was a great channel Now so much!
Thank you SOOOOOO Much for posting this!!!!!

I can't be the only one, this, has brought back more memories of growing up than anything else I could have watched.
Not only best tv shows but the most wonderful theme songs
Barbara Eden looks FABULOUS!!!!
I saw her in a live show at Myrtle Beach about 20 years ago. She's in her 80s now, but she still looks fabulous!
John Ritter died just 6 months after this aired. RIP!

I watched this when it aired and remember thinking to myself that John Ritter didn't look himself, I was worried and then he was just gone :(
That was a huge loss, and he was in his early 50s. We were all fans of Three's Company.
Wish Elizabeth Montgomery had been there. She was awesome as Samantha and Serena!!!!! Very missed

the greatest tv shows!
Hard to believe this 20 years old
I remember that Knight Rider episode. I used to think the show was so cool. The 80s were awesome.
Thank you so much for posting this! I remembered when it aired and I've wanted to see it again ever since, especially that incredible opening :)
3rd gen VHS, but I love it. Thanks for sharing.
Love the Laverne & Shirley theme song!
I love lee majors.....

Davey and Maureen - just wow 😍
Childhood memories. Best TV shoes.
Thank you to all the great actors of that time. In 2022 TV shows sucks...
ALL of THE TV LAnd awards were great .THANK YOU Johnny !
I grew up watching all those shows , first time I saw this special . Great memories!
I'm so glad someone uploaded this.
So many of the people in this clip are gone now. Mary Tyler Moore,John Ritter,David Cassidy,Davey Jones,Don Grady,Penny Marshall.
John Ritter died just 6 months later. so sad. MTM gets me every time. Dick Van Dyke is the greatest of all time- hope he makes it to 200 years old. Barbara Eden looked the same there and is still going strong
I saw Don Adams in the audience as well. He died two years later.
I miss John ritter so much
Loved the tv land awards I watched it every year
The best of the best shows in the day.
What a legendary night.
Its like a caberat show accompanied by hit tv show themes music.
Davy Jones was always adorable.
I wish I'd seen this when it aired. John Ritter killed me at 10:45 - Don't throw water on the cast of Bewitched (LOL)
It would have been awesome to see a modern take of “All in the Family “ with Mike and Gloria as the head of their household, living with their son, and todays modern problems.
It would be, but they’d have to ignore that the characters got divorced offscreen when Gloria returned on “Archie Bunker’s Place.”
The closest we got was the short lived 704 Hauser in the '90s.
When tv had shows ! The best of tv
Favorite show
So many of these stars have passed away.
I began to lose track when counting just the ones who have died since this was filmed. Good TV they provided.
@@terrisue4059 RIP. Ann B. Davis and Everybody's favorite mother, Florence Henderson. Robert Reed passed away in 1993.
@@scottdavidson7001 I was thinking of John Ritter, Davy Jones, David Cassidy, Mary Tyler Moore....sad

@@scottdavidson7001 I was more the David Cassidy/Davy Jones girl. haha
OMG ! DAVID CASSIDY!!!! ( swooooon) he looked great here ! I'd like Shirley Jones hair style to be less severe.
Aaaawwww...they couldn't get Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman or ol' lovable Rog for.tge I Dream of Jeannie theme song!!
Adorable what they did with Jeannie's appearance when she accepted her award!!
Oh...... The memories.....
Wow, this video is so old the sound keeps fading in and out!
Sing 2 theme songs from today's shows. You can't.
Not that long ago when the world still was sane
Not like today
David Cassidy still had pipes.
Loved Shaun Cassidy!
Wow‼️
I wish they had a chorus sing the lyrics for "Bewitched". It was a rare circumstance when that happened.
Do you have TV Land awards from 2007 or 2008 when the Bradys were honored ?
kklusman Hi, i believe so, I will post it at some point
More Brady bunch videos please please
Twins Greg & David (Adam from Bewitched) changed their last names from Lawrence to Mandel. They are said to be the illegitimate sons of Tony Curtis.
John Ritter!

Do you remember Davy with Maureen on The Brady Bunch?
Exactly! exactly the same way I thought and felt about it too. It shows such a disgrace, disrespect, with no class or dignity, and lack of taste, towards what was such a memorable trip back in time.
Lee Major looked good for his age
It’s too bad TV Land is total garbage today.
I used to love tvland..it had the older shows..now i watch them on amazon prime
Yes complete garbage glad we have MeTv ,antenna, and Cozi tv
Damn it! I came here looking for Don Adams and Barbara Feldon of "Get Smart," and they're not in this video.
Don Adams is shown briefly in a pretty close-up shot in the audience.
Where is the future classic - American Dreams?
Shame that Eve wasn't there!
Nobody can do justice to the grate Jean Stalpleton
I said hi to david after a concert and he run into the tour bus.I must have scared him.
Whatever...wow those dancers are awesome!
Why were some of the lyrics of the song, Movin' on Up changed?
Why didn't Davy do the monkees theme
the show back were great .today show not to good to watch. thank,s for sharing can i buy a copy.
Barbara Eden still looking great.
Where's Jan?
Do you have the rest of the telecast ?
whats up with the volume fading in an out
Boy we went from the Brady bunch to the Biden bunch
Does tv land still do this
I bet the Brady kids wish they signed better contracts. They have gotten no residuals for reruns worth billions!
Mostly these are 1970s shows.
No questions regarding the ill-fated Brady Bunch Hour variety show.
