How would you say this stacks up to the speed 400?
    Considering these 2 bikes.
Ill be using them for city commutes as well as toys for giving me an adrenaline rush on the weekends.
I prefer the Triumph for its practicality and looks, but i'm afraid it won't quite give the same pull as the KTM

I've seen a lot of people complaining about the quality of bikes KTM is providing. Lot of videos on UA-cam and a lot of acquaintances complaining that the quality has come down drastically.
The Speed 400 seems much more reliable compared to the Duke. If you're willing to push your luck, go ahead with the KTM as it is an insane machine.
If you prefer acceleration over top speed, replace the front chain sprocket of the Speed 400's with the Scrambler 400's. The Scrambler 400's front sprocket has 3 teeth lesser than the Speed's so it would give more initial torque and quite a nasty pull from what I've experienced.
I feel, the Speed has great ergonomics and you can ride the bike all day long unlike the KTM where the footpegs are rear set and the position just feels crammed which would take a lot of getting used to.
Do test ride both the bikes multiple times before you finalize and don't feel shy to ask for a long test ride.

    How are the vibrations

Vibrations are way in control compared to the previous gen's. The vibrations are evident after 5000 RPM. There's a slight buzz on the handlebar and I guess it's much more refined compared to the previous gen.
