honestly ik people talk about the graphicaly downgrade but for a 2014 game it still looked better than most games released that year.the gameplay was just super fun and the campaign actually felt meaningful unlike legion's. aiden as a protag had great development too and the antag is easily the best in the series no doubt.lastly the side activities like poker and chess god idk how many hrs i spent on these simple side games ,imo if we can somehow combine watch dogs 1 and 2 then we'd honestly get a perfect game
watch dogs 1’s graphics are pretty solid for its time tbh. its no gta at all. i have a graphical tolerance for games that were released from the ps2 and the original xbox and after that. i don’t really put graphics into my overall opinion since i can adjust pretty quick and i just have a love for video games.
I can see the downgrade being on PC The lighting is dumbed down, some physics are dumbed down and sunlight is dumbed down However it's very unnoticeable without side by side comparisons
I find it ridiculous that GTA fans hate it because it's a "copy" and it deserves more attention than GTA. Also I don't think that those graphics weren't gonna work on PS3.
Aiden isn’t supposed to be charismatic like Nathan Drake, he’s literally a serial killer and referred to as such, his audio logs give a dark past to him.
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 He is quite literally in the definition of law a killer, yes he’s a story anti hero vigilante but legally I’m speaking for the point of comparison
I actually like the story. Whenever I play it, I think of Aden’s story as “the birth of a hero”. I mean, he starts out his story with being in it for himself (the job at the Merlot) and then realizes that his actions have consequences. He doesn’t want to be a hero, nor does he see himself as a hero, but that’s what he becomes in the end. Technically, he is and anti-hero. But I don’t think the villains are all that bad. I think the villains are the way they are because they show Aden what he could become. Irac is all about gathering information for purposes of blackmail. Default is just in it for his ego. The main bad guy is about a guy creating order (as messed up as that is). Damian has a hurt ego and wants “justice” and “power”. Damian is also a guy who just wants power. Technically, they ALL want power. These are good villains because they’re a lot like Aden. What separates Aden from them is not much. Aden becomes the hero because he has to. I know it’s a dumb thing to say, but he realizes that it’s more important to be a force of good than a force of evil. Aden doesn’t do anything different than these villains. Aden isn’t good, and that’s the point. This story shows how the line between good and evil is EXTREMELY blurred.
I recently replayed the campaign and honestly I think it was great, the villains aren't these supper unrealistic complex characters but rather very realistic ambitious a*sholes like those we see in our world, ambitious, greedy, and arrogant people who want power and wealth no matter the cost. Personally T-Bone is my favorite character and I just barely bought the Bad Blood DLC so I bet I will have lots of fun playing as him. Unlike Watch Dogs 2 or Legion, Adin isn't exactly a Vigilante like DedSec and is more of a gray character who is fighting for his own interests which in his case it's revenge and its an illusion of what humanity really is.
So happy to see this game get the love & appreciation it deserves. As someone from Chicago, I was so excited & couldn't wait to play this at launch. Still to this day I go back & play this every year. For anyone playing on pc tho, I highly suggest trying the Living City mod & Faction Redux mod. These will overhaul the game completely & make your playthrough so much more enjoyable.
I've spent 100's of hours playing, I still play it! Timing the baracades perfectly, in car chase sequences sets up some nice slow motion crashes ! the dlc in the watchdogs games is where it's at! #Jack'sReviews #AidenPierce
Mate the dlc I just replayed Bad bone playing as tbone is so good, should of been the main focus of Watch dogs 2 maybe even a prequel seeing how he pulled it off ya know
Watch Dogs will always be worth buying . It is one of my favorite open world games . It's got very good side missions and great DLC . Just an overall fun game .Ubisoft needs to bring Aiden Back for Watch Dogs 4 .
I decided to finally give it a shot this February on the PS4, with very low expectations. As you said, the story isn't great and the fact that you go from hacker to skilled assassin almost immediately really threw me off and I almost abandoned the game for that reason. They touch on the morality of it all and his conflicting thoughts, but it felt forced. Then I told myself that I would play this game as if Aiden was Agent 47 with hacking skills. That mindset totally changed the game for me and turned it into a really fun experience, where I would mostly use the silenced pistol and my hacking abilities to clear areas. Oh, and some of the side activities were surprisingly fun too.
I had played Watch Dogs 2 a few years ago & it was a surprise hit for me. Loved every second of it. Now, I'm contemplating Watch dogs 1 & this review helps. I'll wait for a good sale.
Just got around to playing all three for the first time this month. My impressions of the series are still fresh. Overall, I like them a lot. The first had the best story, atmosphere, and characters in my opinion. It’s the only one of the three that I think would work as a movie. However, around 20-30 hrs in it started to get annoying the way the story railroaded you, the end of every story arc forcing you to run and gun, or into some kind of car chase. Seemed like a lack of imagination. Part 2 I disliked at first, as it seemed childish. Less of the dark hacker vibe, more of a teenaged rebellion, graffiti, replace a website logo with a penis vibe. But as I played it grew on me, especially the more sandbox nature and the mission structure that allowed you to approach missions your own way (stealthy, hackery, guns blazing, tricky bombs and traps, etc.) Part 3 I also didn’t like at first due to the lack of a central character. The “recruit anybody” mechanic felt gimmicky, but I grew to enjoy it. I built a team to my liking (including Aiden and Wrench) and switched between them, and enjoyed the open world freedom even greater than part 2. Around 15 hrs in now and haven’t done more than a mission or two into the story, and feel no hurry to do so.
The Watchdogs story is there if you want it but doesn't pressure you into engaging with it if you want to do something else for a while. As someone who mostly enjoys open world games Watchdogs is an excellent balance. Thanks for keeping the spoilers out of your review.
I think it's unrealistic expectations that basically kills a game on release. I have to be honest, when this thing originally came out I simply wasn't interested, ended up picking it up for a few quid on Amazon and found I totally loved it - I even like Aiden. Driving is a nightmare, yes - but other than that it surprised the hell out of me how much fun pretty much everything else is to do - I even enjoyed hacking the coms towers. Did all the side missions, played the freaky extra games - even did the serial killer thing, just really, really enjoyed it. I definitely agree it's insanely underrated. Just picked up the Complete Edition for the PS4 - looking forward to replaying it. Good review. 👍
I’m scared of everything mate :D Nah I’m currently moving house so I’m working with what I had saved from months ago Will be spicing it up soon Arcane thinker :)
I really liked this game. I wanted to play it a couple of months ago but saw that it cost like $30, that was a bit meh. I got a copy with the 780Ti at the time but can't seem to be able to install it now. I really liked this game despite not being 2012 version, 2012 version is honestly a ps4/ps5 version, but I liked the darker tone in the game, and I liked Aden, I also liked that the game had a slower pace then WD 2 and 3.
I quit legion after an hour and refunded it. I played 2 for about a few hours. I now bought watch dogs 1 for the third time (ps, Xbox and now Pc) and I’m already in love again. I always thought it looked quite good and now on all-ultra on pc I love it even more. It just makes FUN.
I didn’t know people hate watch dogs I honestly enjoy this game back in 2016 I remember it was a present 🎁 for my 14 birthday 🎂 I always thought Pearce was a great character I spend hours on this game doing the side missions getting all the collectibles the gameplay is really fun honestly I recommend it
In my opinion I loved watchdogs 1 and 2, but i will just talk about 1. The visuals in my opinion are better than some games that are made in the past year or so, especially when its raining and dark that's when they look the best. The game play loop and mission are really fun as well unlike some ubisoft games that have boring side content. Aiden as a character I actually quite like, in a way Aiden kind of reminds me of Batman with his motivation on why he does what he does and his skill set. And yeah the villains are not the best but defiantly not the worst that we have seen from a Ubisoft title.
I hated before trying but after trying I actually enjoyed my time with it. It's closest to person of interest game and I love person of interest. It got hacking, stealth is cool, setting is great, story is also fine.
In my opinion. The game’s ahead of it’s time. Hackers, and digital footprints etc…especially since our technology has increased since the last 10 years of it’s release. It can pertain to how crime works these days. Also, The game’s design is pretty good for the time it did come out. Edit: If the physics for bodies dropping were more realistic with some type of gore element i think that would’ve really added to its overall combat system but nonetheless still tactical, and fun. I loved the shootouts with my m1911
Finally someone who also thinks that watchdogs is the best out of the 3 games. The hacking is on point for me and I Love the story even tho it’s not the best but the missions are good
I had to make a separate comment here because I felt like talking about the other 2 games, I haven't really got far in Watch Dogs 2 but Legion honestly had some interesting things, playing with a small crew and permadeath mode on makes the life of your protagonists hold much more value, and while there isn't a set protagonist, basically the entirety of DedSec London is the protagonist. I honestly didn't find Zero Day to be much of high interest villain but I can't say the same for the others: Spoilers ahead Skye Larsen literally actually made me feel the creeps just seeing how psychotic she was and how she turned her own dog into a spiderbot and her mom into a house AI just for research on a maniacal pursuit of immortality. Mary Kelly gives off the same motives like the villains of the first Watch Dogs, an arrogant greedy a'hole who does anything to to hold power and I find it poetic how she was murdered by the same people she belittled. Nigel Cass believed that keeping the people opressed was the only way people would not harm one another which is a Machiavellian philosophy that human nature is evil and will always seek evil Meanwhile Sabine or Zero Day she betrayed her own companions for her own ambition believing that the only way to achieving order was to bring anarchy into London. I still don't know her true intentions or motives but I feel like there is more potential for her character if she survived at the end, but in the end of the day she's a human being and just like in real life, human being are very unpredictable
I loved it when it first came out and WD2 was even better. I tried playing it again a few months ago on the PS5 and it runs even worse on the PS5. It's still 30fps and there was constant pop ins and the sky was flickering all the time (it only did it at night some times on the PS4). I just couldn't play it. It ran a lot better on the PS4. I'm currently looking for the realistic and lighting mods for the PC but it's all dead links.
I feel like it is definitely warranted, Ubisoft is not what it was in 2012-14, storytelling, world design and all around care for their games is all gone
@@aust0_o All you took from that was " content"..... maybe read numbnuts it helps...." stunning n Run great"... Add content to that, that = great games....Go along with the Ubisoft hate train, your loss....I'll enjoy them along with 6 million people each game

Yea it is. That 2nd one is a gem though. Really made you feel like a tech god when you called in a gang hit on some random person just because they looked at you funny
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 eh, the story was awful, especially that chick. But the gameplay was fun and San Francisco was brilliantly detailed and lived in. Played a lot of it while listening to podcasts because of the dialogue tho
@@mgiebus1869 Gameplay looks downgraded from first wd. That blackout hack took a huge hit. Gunplay doesn't look that intense as well. They are literally 3D printed guns and barely have recoil. They are just not it... Yeah that's the only reason to play watch the cringe 2 anyway. Explore the city, drive around and uninstall the game.
Despite downgraded graphics yet still managed to be a good-looking game even in 2023 as most mid range PCs nowadays can run the game maxed out. It just too bad about its shallow attention to detail and physics are very basic in this game and lacked a lot of tangible interactivities, thinking the whole smartphone hacking thing would be enough to replace them and game suffered from that the most. I didn't like it much back in 2014 but surprisingly liking it more in 2023. I can't take WD2 and Legion characters and story seriously at all I much prefer the Aiden Pearce story.
I must admit that I found the concept behind the game intriguing. However, the execution fell short of my expectations. The driving mechanics felt clumsy, lacking in weight and realistic physics, which detracted from the overall experience. Similarly, the shooting and cover mechanics were inconsistent, leaving much to be desired. Although I completed the game to 100%, I couldn't help but feel that the story lacked substance, particularly the ending. Additionally, the abundance of filler missions failed to captivate my interest. While the game had its moments, it was merely satisfactory overall. One of my disappointments was that despite the game's promising ideas, once you've exhausted them, there's little incentive to revisit them. Of course, this critique is based on my own subjective opinion, and others may have a different perspective.
this guy doesnt know his games bro ive been playing watchdogs since the release date and its one of my favourite games, its a great free roam and story game the cars the missions just everything about it makes me happy to play it. I remember being excited asf when i first played it omg its the best bro
I wonder, is this a game where you can fully indulge like for example gta 5, sniper games and racing games but a mixture of them. Am maybe of to purchase Watch Dogs. Which game (Watch Dogs 1 or 2) do you guys recommend me if you have never played the game before and like exciting games and some gangster style like in gta for example?
Played it on 360. Download it on series x last night. Gonna play when I get off work. Excited. Is there any small graphical changes on series x. 60fps at all.
can't believe it's been 9 years damn ...not a great story but personally I enjoyed it and I still remember missions where there was more shooting and less hackings tbh
Yeah the hacking got drowned out towards the end focusing more on shooting mechanics which is unfortunate. Watch dogs is at its best when blending the two together
That's the more appealing thing about aiden as a protagonist incomparsion to Marcus he is more gun-ho and dark that's what appealed to me if it wasn't for them showing off the gunfights I would've never got it. That's where watch dogs 2 failed for me that it was more about the hacking and Marcus was to quirky they all were it was like playing an action hacking game with the big bang theory character's. Point is if they ever listen to aiden pearce fans and make a prequel they gotta make it a spin-off because watch dogs is for hacking and they shouldn't change that but aidens strong points is in action/shootouts hacking is more of a thing to give him an edge in combat and that's the way it should stay with aiden which they seemingly understood that with bloodlines.
Brilliant game, bought in 2015, didnt play it properly til 2019, and now im doing it again. A top 10 for me, WD 2 is pure shite, gave it an hour before i chucked it
I’m desperate for answers at this point but does anyone know if the Ubisoft servers can still connect to this game on pc? No matter what I change in my network or NAT settings I can’t do the online hacking or tailing or anything because I can’t connect.
I really enjoyed this game. This is how my interest in hacking began which lead me to be a full blown hacker. Hacking is hard work but can be very rewarding. Thank you for the review
Watch dog 1 is great game in campaign or free roaming but in legion you will feel neutered, you just know the gameplay done by a fruity development team
Yes!, Only if its on sale though I wouldn’t recommend buying it for the full price, also to make your experience better and more fun probably buy the dlc and the season pass, and one last thing just buy it on when it goes on sale, cause for the full price it really isn’t that worth it. Thats all enjoy!!!
Yes it's superior to Wd2 there's bullet time weapon executions may have blind fire as well the seqaul has none of that blame the story sure but it's a cover based shooter peroid we know the laziness of ubisoft by now Plus it's not exactly a last gen port it was scaled down for ps3 360 so its something of a hybrid. I could not tell tjr difference in thr so called improved driving however watchdogs 2 feels more alive there are some improved things in my opinion it's a must to have both but watch dogs 1 is better if you prefer combat/stealth to hacking.
Watch Dogs is one of my favorite games, I played it for the first time 2 months ago, I was aware of the hate but, after watching a video on why you should like Aiden Pearce, I just had to try the game out and then as soon as I played all the way at the end it was like playing a movie on a game, I just loved playing as Aiden, a grey hat hacker who is a vigilante and can never move on on his Niece's death. its like John Wick but a hacker and a much more simple but great story, well at least for me.
how about check the reviews buddy it was a good game I tried it and thought it was good like Watch Dogs 2 its did get bad tho when Watch Dogs cringey Legion came out but I loved the first and second one

Aiden isn't boring vs Legion's characters, their voices oh god
This game is incredible, the ubisoft hate Is disturbing and embarrassing...Every game sells over 6 million
I feel like it is definitely warranted, Ubisoft is not what it was in 2012-14, storytelling, world design and all around care for their games is all gone
@@aust0_o oh stop the bs,the games are stunning n run great....and they add so much content..gimme a break
@@arkhamknight6371 content ≠ good
@@aust0_o All you took from that was " content"..... maybe read numbnuts it helps...." stunning n Run great"... Add content to that, that = great games....Go along with the Ubisoft hate train, your loss....I'll enjoy them along with 6 million people each game
@@arkhamknight6371If you like games with a lot of content where you do the same boring things 1000x times play a Korean mmo RPG. These games are perfect for you. They also got a lot of pay to win stuff.
Yea it is. That 2nd one is a gem though. Really made you feel like a tech god when you called in a gang hit on some random person just because they looked at you funny
2nd one is fan made cringe.
This game is very good. I wish the sequel had been a direct follow up to Aiden's story.
I can't take WD2 and Legion characters and story seriously at all I much prefer the Aiden Pearce story.
quick answer: yes don`t miss out on this game
I like the story. I think you nitpick too much.
I'm about to decide to buy this game, it seems pretty fun!
this guy doesnt know his games bro ive been playing watchdogs since the release date and its one of my favourite games, its a great free roam and story game the cars the missions just everything about it makes me happy to play it. I remember being excited asf when i first played it omg its the best bro
New sub. This vid convinced to play the game.
I love watch dogs 1 I still play 2023
I love this game and still play it allot
I think that I stopped at a insta fail stealth mission when you got spotted
Oh yeah some of the tailing missions are a pain in the ass
I wonder, is this a game where you can fully indulge like for example gta 5, sniper games and racing games but a mixture of them. Am maybe of to purchase Watch Dogs. Which game (Watch Dogs 1 or 2) do you guys recommend me if you have never played the game before and like exciting games and some gangster style like in gta for example?
Watchdogs 1 was gritty than watchdogs 2 went hell of up beat than legion was just like everyone is here.
I played it for PS3. It’s disappointing freezing No gun audio and no audio most of the time Freezing sounds
Played it on 360. Download it on series x last night. Gonna play when I get off work. Excited. Is there any small graphical changes on series x. 60fps at all.
I honestly wouldn’t be able to tell you as I played on pc myself :/
Was the best campaign in series, and have a more realistic gameplay, feels more congruent
can't believe it's been 9 years damn ...not a great story but personally I enjoyed it and I still remember missions where there was more shooting and less hackings tbh
A top 10 for me, WD 2 is pure shite, gave it an hour before i chucked it
I like this game a lot! Did in 2014 and I do now
2014 I played kill zone, I have no regrets 🤷
Shadowfall?
I actually really liked it despite the critical beating it got
I’m desperate for answers at this point but does anyone know if the Ubisoft servers can still connect to this game on pc? No matter what I change in my network or NAT settings I can’t do the online hacking or tailing or anything because I can’t connect.
Do you have Steam copy of the game?
Only Ubisoft Connect version of the game can play online not steam
i hated the pc port it had really bad keyboard delay the only way to fix it is to connect a controller
rip classic game reviews
Rip
A good start to the channel but Jack is more personal ;)
How abot season pass? Is it worth?
Hmm the t bone expansion was really cool but it really depends. If you like the base game you might as well give it a shot!
Saw the game on Amazon for $9. Never played it before and went looking for reviews. Buying the game is being left up to this video my man. lol
Should've followed the aiden story, Ubisofts own batman. I thought the story was great.
I really enjoyed this game. This is how my interest in hacking began which lead me to be a full blown hacker. Hacking is hard work but can be very rewarding. Thank you for the review
Can you hack NSA or CIA yet?
I got this for free, forgot if it was on Epic or Ubisoft (will check later). Watching your review gave me the urge to fire up the game.
Thanks Kim :) hope you enjoy it again
Watch dog 1 is great game in campaign or free roaming but in legion you will feel neutered, you just know the gameplay done by a fruity development team
I played the first and the second, love both... haven't play legion though, is legion worth it?
Yes!, Only if its on sale though I wouldn’t recommend buying it for the full price, also to make your experience better and more fun probably buy the dlc and the season pass, and one last thing just buy it on when it goes on sale, cause for the full price it really isn’t that worth it. Thats all enjoy!!!
@@Burrow_girl ok, thanks for the info man 👍
gta v totally overshadowed it
Oh yeah, everyone expected gta to be massive but not to live past THREE Watch dogs games.
Absolute madness
Dude I just played it and the story is pretty good so I have no clue what you mean when you say its pretty mid
I liked the game a lot which is sad it was hated a lot.
Wss anybody able to get the dlc online trophies in 2023?
I like watch dogs 1 sooo much also 2 and legion
This game is just gta but if it was actually fun to play. I get bored of gta fast but this was a blast all throughout
AI is shite, wallhacks? haha. Typical modern gaming BS. Thanks for the review
Yes.
You repeat yourself to an absurd amount and a review explains why and how something is good or bad, not that it just is.
This game is awesome.
I loved this game man
Best game before ubislop went Woke and downhill
Great Game 😊
Watch Dogs is one of my favorite games, I played it for the first time 2 months ago, I was aware of the hate but, after watching a video on why you should like Aiden Pearce, I just had to try the game out and then as soon as I played all the way at the end it was like playing a movie on a game, I just loved playing as Aiden, a grey hat hacker who is a vigilante and can never move on on his Niece's death. its like John Wick but a hacker and a much more simple but great story, well at least for me.
Currently playing and its boring af
❤ the game it was my favorite
9 years, yikes 😬
Great review
Cheers Shoom :)
i heard this game is dark and sad.... if thats true then thats all i need to hear to buy it LMAO
watch dogs 1 best
Game still crashing !
out of all 3 games watch dogs 1 is the best one, i would not recommend anyone playing the second or third game the first one is literally the best
Totally agree with all my soul. Play the first, ignore the rest.
Best $4 game 😂
Played it on release, and was very disappointed by it.
