I like it. Consider this, it may look different from what you are used to because different organizations have continued to tweak the katas. This stems from various views on the execution, and variations of the older forms. It is plausible that this kata in particular came to karate from incense shop boxing aka southern shaolin boxing. In Okinawa in was shortened from what the original form was and in Japan it has been tweaked further. I have one teacher that performs it basically in Sanchin Dachi while others use a wide half moon type stance either having the outside foot also turned in or not at all. For my taste the odd thing I saw was after the first leg raise how the front foot landed. I have never seen it like this that I remember from Funakoshi's nor Nakayama's books. Whichever version you practice consider that this kata is a system conceived for close range fighting. The stance can be used in a grappling situation to buckle the legs of the opponent to break his balance or momentarily distract them in order to attack. Don't get too hung up on the way it looks but study the way it is meant to be used and try it.

The timing is a lot different from how I learned it. It looks good, but this is really supposed to be a tension kata. The point of it is kind of lost.

Il confonds lenteur et contrôle. Manque de puissance. Alors c'est ce qu'ils ont compris du KRT.

Sad sad sad... lost all the essence of hagetsu by taking away the one thing most important. Hangetsu was a kata to develop muscle and breathing not this modern sport fraud
