I ran Mason Miller through the development lab. I put him on the strength and conditioning program. His result was outstanding and his injury prone ness went from fragile to normal.

It's been a welcome addition. I'm still learning how to work it. For example: players who have already reached their potential do t seem to benefit from it unless they get an outstanding result. Likewise, prospects straight out of high school haven't responded well. The most success that I've had so far is with players in the upper minors that are almost MLB ready. Prospects out of college seem to do well too. Work ethic and intelligence definitely play into it too. Adaptability. Is a factor when trying to teach a new position.
I think JRods contract is better in OOTP than in real life because there are no escalators. His team option years can get up to 35M/YR based on MVP voting.
That's a great point, there definitely are simplifications from MLB in several of the more significant contracts in the OOTP 25 world... and J-Rod's flat cost in OOTP for close to a decade is potentially incredibly attractive!
I play 99%+ as GM only, but I do usually check the box to give myself the opportunity to override manager lineups. I probably try to rely on cost-effective platoons a little more than most at a couple of positions, but the success rate is not always as high as I would like!
Ha, you're not lying... I just looked it up, his career SO/BB ratio of 6/1 is ugly. I'm sure in the history of the game there are others similarly as bad, but I can't think of anyone offhand!
