I’m surprised to see how few subscribers you have, I reckon you’re gonna be huge. You’ve definitely earned a like and follow from me 👍

Thanks for covering this. New sub here. As someone who came of age in the late 60s/early 70s with protest music being more common, I'm disappointed that there isn't more music commenting on current issues today.

It's great to see you expanding in a new direction, and I think it is refreshing to address music and films indirectly in their political context. It helps us to understand the importance of media and criticism as a reaction to social and political events.
I can remember watching "Forrest Gump" for the first time as a child and being introduced to Jimi Hendrix and Creedence Clearwater Revival. "Fortunate Son" is still one of my favourite songs ever and I think that some of the songs written in this period and covered in this video are some of the best ever written, "Gimme Shelter" especially. Keep up the good work.
The visual style you adopted in this video was similar to Polyphonic. I don't know if you drew inspiration from him but if not I would recommend checking his channel out. I'd say this is easily up to the calibre of his videos, so for a first effort in this new direction I highly commend you.

Thanks! Yeah this was definitely inspired by Polyphonic after watching his video on The House of the Rising Sun

I just wanna say I've been binging you're stuff and you deserve way more! This video in particular is great very educational and entertaining at the same time while not undermining the tragedy of it all. This is beautiful!

Its nice you addended a moral about real people. The war movie sound tracks are all the top ten hits about drugs sex and rock and roll. Actual vietnam war protest songs were hardly heard.

Yeah, it’s important to remember what actually happened, not just reducing the war down to the American experience and the music that came from it

Great content, can you make a video on what makes once upon a time in the west so great.

There's a couple of videos on this channel which indirectly address "Once Upon a Time in the West", such as the recent video on the decline of the Western and the video released a couple a years ago on Sergio Leone, but I also agree that it would be great to see a video explicitly dedicated to this film at one point, as it is also one of my favourites.

There's a whole website dedicated to cataloguing and archiving old Vietnam era anti-war songs, there's quite a lot, I'm a huge fan of '60s psychedelia and almost every single psych album from the era albeit mainstream or underground has 1 or 2 songs that are about Vietnam or reference it.
