      There are pros and cons for co sleeping. Norway is not backwards as it`s been done in Norway for 100`s of years. But! there are dangers involved with co sleeping especilly when they are infants. like suffocations. Norway was plagued with alot of crib deaths wich is why the health departments is informing about safty rules when co sleeping.

    As a Norwegian born and raised, it would be so painful for me to not sleep with my parents a lot. Never heard about anything like this when and where I grew up. Some places might be more strict, but I grew up in the countryside. Feeding by hand not allowed?! sounds absurd! my mother would sometimes give me food by hand, not always, and of course not when very soft foods, in that case a spoon is more useful, but it definitely happened. Also, I do recall sleeping between my mother and my father on at least one occasion. Since this is many, many years ago, I don`t remember much, of course . I do remember that I did have my own bed, but it very often happened that I would sleep between my parents. Child care has been controversial here in Norway, and in this case they definitely could have handled things a lot better! I am glad they were convicted at the Human Rights Court in the Netherlands, hopefully they have learnt a lesson. Namaste from Oslo.

    Sometime, last year I read about the life of an Indian woman who was adopted as a baby by a childless Scandinavian couple in the 70s. The husband wanted to adopt the child but the wife was not so keen. The couple anyway adopted her and took her to their country. A few years later the couple divorced. The wife was given custody of the Indian child. She placed the child in an orphanage. So the Indian girl ended up moving from one foster family to another. Some treated her well and some didn't. She ended up getting pregnant at 17 or 18, dropped out of school, married somebody in her early twenties, had more kids, got divorced. Two of her kids now live with her and the other two refuse to even see her because her estranged husband does not want them to see her. She had an extremely tough life. She says that it is quite common for adopted children to go through this type of life when people who have adopted them get divorced.

    Honestly, I am glad that this is coming to light. You have given your very balanced view on this ❣️ (which reflects that you that feel safe) but that's not the case with everyone. This needs to come to the surface. In 2021, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) handed down ten judgments against Norway. Norway was convicted in six of them for having violated human rights-all of them dealt with child protection. In total, the ECtHR has handed down 65 judgments against Norway, and the state has been convicted in 43 of these. And 43 is 43 too much. There are so many bad and ugly stories in Norway about this topic-on the part of child protection against children and parents.

    This case became famous in West Bengal as both the parents were Bengalis from Kolkata. You can find lot of material online from old news links that explains the circumstances in detail.It would be wrong to say that the parents fought, it was solely the mother's fight, first with the Govt of Norway, then with her heartless husband and in-laws at our courts to get her children's custody. She has been through a lot and emerged victorious.

    • @nirvana9891
      @nirvana9891 Рік тому

      @Dipanwita Mullick it was the uncle who fought to get the custody of the kids. And there were many other people involved in the fight. It’s just that the mother is trying to catch all the attention she is getting now. Both the parents were irresponsible to some extent. The father accused the mother of being extremely immature and violent at times (report from 2012). The mother surprisingly is now speaking up against her husband. Taking everything with a pinch of salt it is clear that there were problems in the family. It was the uncle who fought to get the custody and brought the children back. A woman doesn’t have to perfect and right all the time. Later Sagarika took away the children from her in-laws. And now she herself stays in Delhi. She can have flaws too. And hence just looking at one side of the story is probably not right. Both the parents are irresponsible and did not set any good example of parenting.

      @@nirvana9891 Bull shit , you di not know anything of the case. Better get your facts right. The children were handed over the the uncle because of certain reason. In fact nobody from the fathers family actually wanted the children and the husband had filed for divorce taking advantage of the depression the wife was suffering due to her situation. It was the mother who fought like a tiger and ultimately because of her effort which created a big diplomatic row between lndia and Norway that the Norway Govt agreed to hand the children to the uncle. Without the mother the children would still be in a foster home in Norway. Believe me the father have not even bothered to visit his children in the past 10 years even once .

But I think you don't know either, so it's wrong of you to say she was violent or she is trying to get attention etc. It seems to me she fought hard to get her kids back, and I'm happy she won. Also, I've just read her interview. She stays apart from her kids as she has to work and provide for them and her parents, which to me is commendable. Sometimes, people have to stay where they can find a good job. You appear to view the mother negatively for no reason..and I'm not sure why. As a new mother, I always felt so supported and more attention was given to my mental health than the baby. Never heard any fellow Indian parents complain about the system too. Nordic countries don’t have as much multicultural population as Australia, thus they awareness to cultural differences is shockingly poor. I was not aware of this case until this trailer but my girlfriend told me about this movie and that it was based on the true event. Most of the people around me are really worried now about the condition in Norway and she was saying as it is better to stay in India rather than any other country. I researched about Norway and Bernevernet in the last few days and people from around the world have a very similiar opinion. One person was saying he doesn't plan to visit Norway even for a vacation until all this children are 18.
    Bernevernet has struck fear in the mind of everyone with the alleged "child abduction". I hope the government tries to improve the condition. Let them not snatch away children for minor reasons as said in the trailer.

    The movie has focused more on culture rather than the domestic violence in the family. Norwegian child protection definitely identified signs with the son, must have been in distress. The husband used to beat his wife broke her hand n all this must have happened in front of the son. The son must have mentioned to his teacher in school that's when child protection got involved. The family has twisted this case to get sympathy from indian public putting it down to culture. Same like Ariha case, the child's genetial was torn but parents putting the focus on culture.

Please answer my simple question... what was the need for taking the infant away from her mother who still needed breast feeding. Genitial injury could be due to an accident too....What does doctor's report say? Above all, why should any parents allow someone else to tell them how to raise their kid... Absolutely bizarre law... I think there is some state supported scam behind this kid of act...

      @TECHNOtainment .... there are so many Indians in Norway.. all their kids are taken by child protection is it? Logical thinking will answer your queries. Child safety is number one priority in first world countries. There is more to this that sagarika is hiding. she twisted it to suit her. The child showed signs of distress that off banging his head. As for Ariha.. tearing of genital doesn't happen with accidents. Why did the grandmother lie that her nail cut the child's genital. Why wasn't the grandfathers DNA not done? Why were the grandparents sent overnight back to India? They were the ones looking after the child in the parents absence. Easy for people like you to defend the perpetrators that's why so many cases in India go unnoticed. Use logic, n don't go based on emotions that the parents are showing to the public.

      India has a massive population. And so the Indian government, constitution and law does not place much value on the lives of Indian kids (or adults for that matter). Historically, parts of India had a culture of female infanticide and legally there were no penalties for that. Coming to a more recent day and age, the Women and Child Welfare Ministry has done very little to even stop chronic sexual abuse in government and private orphanages and child homes. You often read about the horrible mid-day meals given to young students in government schools. When the government does not care about successfully running it's own government organizations why would they make rules about how parents raise their children?
      Norway has a very small population compared to India, and is an economically developed nation. THEY HAVE A CAPITALIST ECONOMY BUT A SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT. The Scandinavian nations all have FREE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL ITS CITIZENS and A YEAR LONG maternity/paternity leave programs (49 weeks with 100% coverage, or 59 weeks with 80% coverage). Does India have any such health are or maternity leave programs? So let us not compare India and Norway's systems!

I need a lawyer to file, with other disabled citizens of Ukraine, a lawsuit against Norway. My husband, a Ukrainian (oil worker, human rights activist) became disabled as a result of his defense of the rights of other people (Norwegian and Russian media for 9 years). My husband fought corruption in the Russian oil giant, which was headed by the founder of the 6th Directorate of the FSB and the ex-Chancellor of Germany. My husband defended the rights of disabled people and Ukrainians in Norway against Russian-speaking citizens of this NATO country. The Norwegians took my disabled husband to Moscow AFTER: anti-war pickets of my husband in the Russian Federation, his defense of the rights of Ukrainians in Norway, the issuance of documents to my husband by the Norwegian Red Cross for his close relatives (Polish servicemen repressed by the Russians), sentencing his defender to prison (in married to a citizen of Finland for 25 years) in Belarus, who reported the crime of the Norwegians against the Ukrainians and was recognized as a Political prisoner. My husband and his lawyer warned the Norwegians about the coming war, but they did not believe him. The husband was kidnapped and the war began. And after the war began, the Norwegians do NOT admit their mistakes! Unlike the Swedes, the Norwegians DO NOT LIKE to admit their mistakes even when the Chechen refugees deported by the Norwegians were killed in the Russian Federation (Norwegian media)...

Her boy reacting in fear when she raised her hand while the authorities visited. Placing her infant on surfaces not intended for diaper changes, causing her infant to fall down etc. None of this was mentioned in the movie. So. Remember it’s a movie. It’s not just “cultural differences” aka., hand feeding, sleeping together and kohl. Sleeping with your kids is not even uncommon in skandinavia what so ever.
    If she was as pure as in the movie I doubt her case would have had to go through three countries. I know there are corrupt people but that many, in so many different places? I don’t think so. I just hope they made the right decision giving them back to her.

    • @daniel4647
      @daniel4647 Рік тому +10

      It's not just the system, it's the Norwegian mentality. We have this very ingrained self-image of being the "good guy". As such people have a very difficult time staying objective when it comes to children, so even a slight suspicion often spirals out of control and people lose their objectivity, this is also true for people who have this as a profession, and subsequently the politicians that make the rules, and so on. Eventually the whole system turns into a toxic overprotective parent. Combine this with a culture that has lost a lot of it's humanity in favour of outward appearance, political correctness, and psychological dogma, and you got a recipe for disaster. Think of the Southpark episodes where everyone gets worked up screaming "think of the children!!" when in reality there is nothing negative happening to the children. Weirdly it also seems to have the opposite effect, when something actually really bad is happening to children they have difficulty believing it's true, don't know what to do about it, and end up closing their eyes to it. That has also happened many times in Norway, serious horrible abuse being reported again and again, and they don't believe it because the people that it has been reported too has lived such sheltered lives that they simply can't accept something so horrible as being something that could really happen. So serious cases get ignored, while relatively minor issues are blown out of proportion.

Not sure if the child care authorities these days would consider it inappropriate- if so; I would describe it as hysteria! there are cases, however, where a child SHOULD be taken away from its mother, as brutally as it may seem. One of my dear cousins, she is today 50 yrs old, she herself a mother, was adopted to my uncle from Denmark when she was very little. My parents were different from others in this. They didn't use physical punishment. I won't say they've never hit but they've used physical force to such a low extent that when I compare it to how others around me were brought up , I would say they never hit me at all. Do Norway has home school option for kids? Like here in the USA child can study till high school in a home school setting. Even interested parents can pass few exams to be licensed as home school teachers. Large number of kids opt for home schooling and they come out really good. Looks like Norway is not high on ranking on human development index as it claims. High standard of living is just not limited to physical comforts, and basic necessities, it also means importance of passing on values to next generation. If having less toys can be a determining factor in child's future or if country's child development dept. thinks having less clothes or space would hinder child's abilities then they should really look at the Asian countries and how they are thriving. If their system is that good then ''how many CEOs are coming out of Norway'' ….' How many Entrepreneur or which country leads in innovation'' ……..

      no, it dont think it have home school option.. If it could be there then it will be another reason to welcome cws at home . in school, kindergarten , children are watched closely by the authority whether to inform cws or not. There is a fear in every indians parents here with regard to their kid...Ranking on Human Development Index is something in real doubt because too many loopholes is there in the system.. Medical sucks, Middle year coming parents cant send their child to kindergarten due to unavailability of seat resulting to child being at home with parents , long procedure for kid admission,.etc..It is not same what is portrayed in Google..

      No. NORWAY has no home school option.
      In Norway by law all children have to go to school.
      If your child is away from school ( tp much ), the school will call the child protection services.
      It's even not legal to take your kids out of school for holiday ( it's cheaper flights when school break is over ).

Because of the privacy law he says it cannot be disclosed . So why the hell he keeps saying it is a fictional movie. If his own ass went through this he would have understood the pain. Most immigrants especially Indian are highly qualified and educated people coming from good families and good culture. It is not the immigrant getting the benefit of a job in Norway but the Norway itself is getting top notch educated talents to give that country their talents. Why do you think America is number one country in the world? It is all because it attracts the top notch talents all across the world and respects their culture. Trashy countries like Norway will never ever learn that and once their natural petroleum resources are depleted it will be a country of slums.

Doctor investigated and said, he just needs a hug from father. He is sad. I came home, he stuck with my chest for 10 minutes, cheered up. Ate from my hands which is objectionable to Norway. He was all fit the next day and started all notorious stuff. In movie, investigators objected mother's tears make child weak and emotional. All rubbish. The same son who stuck to my chest 15 years ago is now a young man and working in Canada while we are in India. Is there any emotional barrier in his growth ?? NO ... Nope.

    This is B(H)ollywood, so it's a lot of drama. The reason for "Barnevernet" taking action in the first place, was that the relationship between the parents was very toxic, and this had been reported several times to the authorities. First of, I work with children as a youthclub leader and I have reported cases to the child welcare office, as I am required to if I suspect something wrong have happend. That said ... one of the cases I did report was about grooming and the guy got sentenced for this too... grooming youth to achieve sex with them.
    My experience with childwelfare office is that no ... they don't come and take your children unless there really really is reasons for it, if I send a report it does not nessesary means that they will forget it, they will investigate and before they take the children away they will seek out other options like talks with the parents, regular checkups to see if what they tell the parents are followed... in the end its the sum of all reports that matters before they take children away, and the rule are that it have to benefits the child.
    That said, we have had several cases where childwelfareoffice have lost ... think there is over 30 cases ... so it happens that they do wrong, lets be honest about that, but also remember that they have a very very strict confidensiality clause so they can't talk about cases in public ... so always when you see these cases come in the news it is always from the perspective of one side only, the parents ... it would be like lissening to Putin or Hitler why their war happens ... should we believe them ? or be skeptical.

      Well I understand you concern and really appreciate that the kids that really need helps get help .but in that case just taking away your child on cultural differences is so wrong .and i am not talking about punishment and all i am against that . But difference in festival and hand feeding your kids or giving them love is wrong because you feel that your way of raising kid is the only right thing then i must say I am hugely disappointed in European countries . You should maintain a free and transparent method of doing the process and give other party freedom and chance to prove there point .there can be a case where you would be snatching a happy lovey family from a child just because you don't think there culture is any better to raise a kid .

      Well in the name of confidential clause you guys do get away with everything.... I don't know much about the confidentiality of other cases but in this particular case Norway's ambassador to india avoided the question... News anchor specifically asked on which specific things did the child welfare found wrong, whatever it was hand feeding, co sleeping,... Ambassador avoided the question by saying that it's confidential and can't discuss it ..
      I mean i understand that you can't go into the details of ongoing sensitive case but atleast you can give the basics of the case ...and the most basic thing was the case what's is the wrong did the parents did... It's like police arrest you and keeping you for years and don't giving the reason of your arrest... Did not it sound like dictatorship...
      Same with child welfare system.. it's more like child trafficking which got legal licence to kidnap

    • @arcticblue248
      @arcticblue248 Рік тому +3

      @@AkashSingh-nf5ey the confidential clause I have and that most people who work on children have is very very strict, for example the school are not allowed to tell me about if there is something wrong with any of the students that I have in my care at the youthclub ... unless the parents says its okey. That gives me problem because I have youths that can have some very special needs and I don't get to know about it even.
      About that movie ... as far as I know because of what the parents have told it seems very very unreasonable, but then again, I don't know if this is correct right ? after all its only what the parents told that we get to hear of.
      But as I said, I am sure there are cases where the children should never have been taken away ... and its bad, and as I said .. there are about 30 cases where Norway have lost at the European Human Right Court.... so it happens.
      But the whole child trafficing calling are unfair and wrong, its being laid out like that to bad mouth the government while they still know well that the child welfare office can't talk against it. Claims like this only makes it a bad case to begin with, its not a good way to create a debate about it.

I had a nasty habbit of running at cars and even one time got run over by a car.... no big damages tough.
      As with that case that the movie portray, yeah ... hand feeding should not in my view mean that they take the kids away it seems like someone did not do their job there, but it depends on that is the whole case after all we don't know do we...
      But in general our children do have a very very high level of security and rules for the parents to follow ... some are possible too high maybe I don't know, I don't have kids myself.

    In this particular case I felt that the biggest red flag was the attitude of the husband towards his wife and his family. However, reaction of the mother when her kids are snatched from her is pretty normal. BV was trying to prove her mentally unstable due to her reactions is insensitive. Nonethrless, this was not a lone case. Although my knowledge is based on the documentries and media reports, i was taken aback by some of the caess. Firstly, as of today BV has lost 43 out of 46 cases highlighting the one sided and inappropriate treatment by BV. I also came across cases where the kid was taken away bcoz it was one pound lighter, there were cases where financial condition of the family was a concern (when love and care from parents should matter) etc. Why cant bv vhange their strategy to consultstion rsther than breaking the families, hiw is it that that all the foster fsmiloes are doing good and never going wtong, and why dont they ask people to leave Norway (it should be the headache of people's country of citizenship then).
