Per capita Sweden is nr 1 in the music world… even Spotify is swedish 😂

Swedes are really good when it comes to writing a melody driven well produced pop song.
Max Martin a Swedish legend has 25 nr1 billboard 2 in world after the Beatles
In fact, with Ariana Grande’s two new chartbusters this year Max Martin has 27 No. 1 songs at Billboard Hot 100 as a songwriter (Paul McCartney has 32, John Lennon 26) and 25 as a producer (George Martin got 23).

There are so many great songwriters in Sweden. I think Max Martin and a few others are kind of the thing that made a lot of artists or bands famous because they wrote such good songs. And don’t forget ABBA.

Sweden is actually 2nd in the world after the USA in writing songs and producing them. What you see there is only a small part of all the songs that Sweden has written and produced. If you look carefully, all the locks have a number of years on the neck. What is not found with all the songs that Swedes have written and produced for Celine Dion and other artists. Many American artists have Sweden to thank for their careers
Shellback, Max Martin's right hand, was from the beginning a metal drummer, and wrote the main parts of "Moves like Jagger" on guitar, and also the drum-intro/lead for Taylor Swift's "Shake it off" Max (Martin) was initially a metal-singer, who now is on he's way to take the second place/spot from Paul MCartney (Beatles) for most Billboard nr 1s in history, think he has 25 now.😊

And this is just in the pop category. We also have Avicii, Swedish House Maffia, Abba, Roxette. Sweden also has hundreds of famous metal bands famous world over. We do have hip hop but it is mostly domestic and not so famous outside of sweden. Sweden is the number third in the world in music export after US and UK. And most of us swedes actually learn english from the fourth class in school so it is like a second language to us.
Sweden is probably no 1 in the world producing songs and artist per capita at least. In school music is included might be why.

It's always such great fun to watch people react to this video! It's such a surprise to many that a lot of the pop sound that most people think is American, for like the last 25 years or so, is actually made by Swedes. And one man in particular, and that's Max Martin.
Only Paul Mc Cartney and John Lennon has had more nr 1 billboard hits.
This is quite an interesting video, it's like a graph, where you can see his hits throughout the years, and how they rise to the top.

Maybe the list is based on how many streams or how much these songs been sold which makes sense then that the older ones are higher up on the list :-) There are though loads of more song written by Swedes :-)

Sweden is with itś small population masters of songwriting but also artists, but in fact they are pretty good in all areas considering there is only 8 million in the whole country so as much as much larger counties USA, UK, France, Japan and Germany may not like it this little country far up North it owns are sorry asses anytime pf the year, I use to live there for 10 years (17-27 years old) and man the Swedes do know how to party, it is wild especially in the summertime when the sun never sets.

Sadly he got shot to death in Oktober 2021 only 19 years old 😪 Then you have Alex Ceesay, Greekazo, Yasin, 1.cuz, Dree Loo, Z.E, Antwan. There you have some artist you could look in to 😀 There is planty more artist but they are you for sure see coming up when you search for the others 😀

There is a lot more music than pop coming from Sweden! Look into Raised Fist, Meshugga, In Flames, The Hives, Cardigans, Entombed... the list can be so long! Strange for a country of ~10m people
Swedes are perhaps the best at English out of any country not native to English...
